      A strong Arsenal is good for the Premier League from a scouser.
      TBH I'm just hoping one of the english teams can knock Real Madrid off their perch, it'll be a struggle for anyone to compete with the 105ers squad strength

    • @paaklapi
      @paaklapi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Our squad is quite narrow, and it may not be ready to compete for one trophy, let alone two or three. This is especially true given that Arteta has been running his trusted players to the ground over the last two to three years. The possibility of this team being on the brink of physical and mental exhaustion is a realistic one.

    • @edreezyforreezy
      @edreezyforreezy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @paaklapi It's only realistic if you have little faith in the team as a whole. I choose to believe these players when they say they believe the manager is improving them on a daily. Besides, progress is best done gradually than rushed. You can choose to ignore all the positives if that's how you support the club.

    • @paaklapi
      @paaklapi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@edreezyforreezy Arteta's squad management is unsustainable, and it is going to lead to physical exhaustion sooner or later. This is not a case of if but when. Given how long it's continued, it is realistic to expect that as soon as next season. As for the mental side, the last two (arguably three) seasons have been extremely disappointing for the players, which must have taken its toll. I doubt they can take much more disappointment they can take before they lose faith in the project.
      This is why I'm concerned that we're going to hit the wall next season. It is not a question of faith; it is a legitimate worry based on what has happened in the past and how it will likely impact us in the future.

    • @edreezyforreezy
      @edreezyforreezy 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @paaklapi Nuh, you don't have faith that our players are improving. Vieira, Jesus, Martinelli, Partey, Nelson, Ramsdale, Timber, and Tomiyasu have all played fewer minutes, mostly due to injuries rather than lack of faith from the manager. May I remind you that these are professional footballers who strive to rule the football world with their talents? You don't see Real Madrid/ Man City players using burnout as an excuse. Sorry, that's a weak-man mentality. Stay more positive, brother.✌️

    I’m convinced we’re going to see a back 4 of :
    White/Saliba/Calafiori/Timber
    I think Gabriel will play at the beginning of the year, but our back 4 will be evolving into this. Tons of rotation, but that 4 above is the future in Arteta’s eyes

      @@adamsamuel6706 not ditching. I'm just looking forward to the later end of the season, into next season, as we evolve. Gabriel going no where, will still play the majority of the games this season. It's just clear that Calafiori & Timber can offer us the same defensive solidity as Gabriel but also add the level of technical security and ball carrying ability that Zinchenko offers us. It's just the evolution of how we currently play. Not a knock on Zinny or Gabriel, love them both, think they're fantastic, esp Gabi. Timber & Calafiori just have certain wrinkles to their game that balance us out better in the long run.

    kind of standard Arsenal fan take saying you can't win champions league with Havertz, when Chelsea literally done that.
    As a Chelsea fan, you know it's not about someone who can be clinical all the time, but instead someone who can be clinical at the right time and Havertz is that person. For the league, yeah you do need someone who would bank more goals, but in a big game, Havertz will be your guy

  • @Timiskooly

    Adrian made a good point about PSR incentivizing selling home grown talent. Luckily, it looks like the league is moving towards an expense cap, which would actually make promoting academy prospects even more desirable

    • @paaklapi
      @paaklapi 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      PSR rules incentivise selling home grown talent only if a club has spent money poorly. Arsenal have lived beyond thier means for years, and we've signed players up to unsellable contracts. We've had to sell Smith Rowe because he's homegrown and, unlike Nketiah and Nelson, on a reasonable contract. Furthermore, Premier League's squad rules state that eight players in a squad of 25 must be homegrown. Clubs with fewer than eight homegrown players must name a squad smaller than 25, which is less than optimal.
      In short, selling homegrown players isn't incentivised by the Premier League. Rather, it is a loophole for clubs with poor money management to seek momentary relief. Arsenal are desperate to sell players to comply with PSR, which is why a homegrown player on a reasonable contract like Smith Rowe is a perfect candidate for a sale.

This behavior exposes their true sentiments - they're intimidated by Arsenal's potential and fearful of our success in the coming season. Based on watching last season and looking at the squad as it stands right now; we are really lacking a central midfielder and also a wide player, that’s comfortable passing the ball around and playing possession football. We don’t have a cesc or a Santi or an Arteta, someone who wants the ball and can keep it for a few minutes to tire out the opponent. These days; we might string 10 passes together in an attack but we don’t often keep the ball very long. Odegaard is the only player on the team that can tick it along as I’d like it to, so I hope we don’t get merino and we do get someone even more comfortable in possession.zubimendi would be ideal.

      @Ananas-280 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If competing teams correct one thing about them they have a chance, that thing is them getting comfortable when they see city struggling around November and December and they increase the points difference
      If instead of that they actually still believe that city are still going to bounce back and reduce the deficit then they have a good chance
      Liverpool basically were locking in for 28 matches until the tally reached 21 points after that they lost points all they wanted because the league was over since game week 26
      Arsenal and Liverpool problem last year was when city were as always having a rough period drawing 6 matches in a row they wasted the chance by loosing and drawing to teams that were much weaker than them
      If you reach april and the points difference is only 7 or 5 it's going to be most likely city to win

    I know it’s all about the EPL but Arteta needs to actually focus on winning a trophy…any trophy. Be it the FA or Carling cup or UCL. He needs to instill that trophy mentality into this group so they can have the exp of actually winning. Klopp is a great manager - better than Arteta even - but he only won the EPL ONCE with Pep around. Apart from the EPL, he won other stuff like the Carling or UCL. That’s why Liverpool have had that dog mentality for the past decade. Arsenal need that to one up Pep because until he leaves City, the EPL is a definite shoe-in for him.

    I keep hearing about Saka needing rest but never Odegaard, Saliba Gabriel, or Rice. People need to stop viewing him as a baby and look at him at the same level as the likes of Mbappe, Rodri, Vinicius Jr, Salah and Haaland. The best players in the world play every game. Unless you view Saka as a rotational piece and not a Ballon d'Or candidate. Then the hype needs to go down too.
