Anyone else watching after both teams left? I went to the last A's home game the other day, and it was so emotional (even being there as a Rangers fan)
@@treymagathan847 you further prove hockey fans are not as intelligent as they "claim to be". Do you really think hockey is going to survive in LV in the long run? Yeah they're getting support now because they've been good but the real test will be when the lean times come. Every team goes through them at some point and when the Golden Knights hit theirs, you watch how fast support drops. LV is a sun belt market and a shakey one at that. The Raiders will be here for the long haul, likely they're in Vegas for good. The GK, they'll move at some point down the road. It may not be in the foreseeable future but at some point in time they'll be gone.

From 1971 to 1976 Oakland was the home of an NHL, NBA, MLB and NFL team....and they won world titles in 3 of those 4 sports during that span (5 championships total in that span). Amazing that it all fell apart and now Oakland has no pro sports.
+ian setzer lol. st. louis' front 7 and its offense will make the rams a very tough team to beat next season. Not surprised i heard that ignorance from a "12"
Exactly. It's funny how 49ers and Cowboys fans always talk about how great their stadiums are. What's really funny is the owners used fan's tax dollars to pay for the stadiums! Ha!
The Oakland Coliseum CAN be given an EXTENSIVE renovation big time just like Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the home of the Dolphins, I'm not a big Raiders fan, but to me, the Raiders belong in OAKLAND CALIFORNIA, NOT in Las Vegas Nevada
@@saints093 your 1,000 percent right Kevin Rose? even though you mentioned your not a big Raiders fan are you a Raiders fan at all like 2nd or third favorite team?
The thing is...this coliseum is famous and has a lot of history here with the A's and the Raiders. However, they play at the same time for the most of the year, so that's allot of work converting the field. Respecg
So sick, I love to see the process of how this is done.....and as far as ppl saying "they need a new stadium", I don't think they do, it adds so much charm and character to the place .... this is the last one left unless I'm mistaken, as far as football and baseball sharing the same place, and to me, that's pretty fucking cool
The Astrodome in Houston did something similar from Astros to Oilers field! But the stands were on a track system, making the transition easier. Cool video tho ;)
Not really. The Oakland Coliseum is more like the old Atlanta Stadium, with the gridiron running from third base to first base. The other cookie-cutters were different: In Washington, New York, Houston, Cincinnati, St. Louis and Pittsburgh, the box seats on the third base and first base line swiveled, and the gridiron ran from home plate to the outfield.
They should do a conversion video of Rogers Centre from Blue Jays baseball to Argonauts Canadian football or vice versa before the Argos move out for good.
I see two reasons actually (Note I am speaking from the perspective of never been there before): 1) Bad viewing angle for football (Unlikely) 2) Blackout rules. This seems more likely. If they can't sell all the seats, the Raiders lose out on advertising revenue. Blocking those seats helps sell out this securing the revenue.
@DashBroncos... If the Raiders and their 3 Super Bowls are so worth it, don't you think they deserve there own stadium? I'm curious what the cost is to convert the stadium back and forth and for how long they've been doing it. Wonder if the total cost added up anywhere near the price of a new stadium. What's the condition of the stadium like? Great job done by all of those involved, this video shows impressive team work.
If you look closely, you can see the crane removing the murder victims of gang violence and burying them under the bleachers. Just a regular day in Oakland.
Raiders are unique. The Coliseum goes perfect with the raiders. We shouldn't care about the stadium its all about the team. I love the old nasty Coliseum
I wonder why when they built Mt Davis in 1995 - why didn’t they just make the seats retractable? So monotonous using cranes to Move every little section in place.
I hate O.co because it's still the only stadium with a football and baseball team along with all the maintenance and sewage problems, but this was pretty cool
Did they not bother selling the nosebleed seats on the opposite side in later years? Those seats start off covered by A's tarp, they take it down and replace it with Raiders tarp.
What other city can say that Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, George Blanda, and Ken Stabler played on the same hallowed field? I wish I could see a game there before they tear it down.
i'd like to see them do a version of what the Giants did last year, take the DS in 5 the CS in 7 and sweep the WS, yeah i know itseems a bit much but we A's fans could use some torture ourselves.
Basketball/Hockey is still very common. A majority of cities that have both have a stadium for both. The exceptions being Miami, Minneapolis, part of New York (Rangers and Knicks share while the Nets and Islanders do not), and part of LA (Kings share with the Lakers and formally the Clippers who will now have their own as do the Ducks). But I would love to see the return of faseball and football being shared. There was a charm to the infield dirt on a football field in September.
Why are they just covering up the seats in the top (center outfield) instead of selling them? I feel like the A's could at least sell them out being in the Postseason and all, seems like a waste.

Thank you, algorithm. 😏
Crazy to see. No one plays here anymore.
That looks so bad with the random dirt in the middle. Thank goodness all of these are defunct.
Once the MLB season is over in October, the Oakland Raiders used to grow grass over the dirt.
