    Zanskar to Rangdum if come from Leh via Zanskar to Rangdum is 250 km
    Then
    How it is possible to reach Rangdum easily from Leh. Even Roads from Zanskar to Rangdum or Kargil to Rangdum are rugged and rough.

    @rohank9292 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I envy you for the kind of place that you like to explore, and you also inspire me to use trekking as a means to get back in shape from the obese form that I am. Btw how do you manage to carry your food rations for such long hikes done all by yourself? How much does your total carrying weight come upto? Which is the trekking shoe that you use for all of your treks?

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My bag is usually around 25kg. One of the perks of hiking alone is that you can walk at your own pace so the extra weight doesn't matter. I hate hiking with other people as usually I'm slow and have to constantly try to keep up with others. That takes all the fun out of hiking for me. I wear the Alico Summit boots, they are all leather and very comfortable.

    • @rohank9292
      @rohank9292 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@indiainmotion 25kgs, woahh thats quite a lot. I doubt I'll even be able to manage 10kgs in the mountains. Same for me too, that I like to trek alone, and independently if possible, because I can't catch up with others on a trek. But you are on a totally different level all together. Trekking such long distances through such a wild, harsh and lonely terrain, all by yourself while carrying 25 kgs worth of gear & supplies. One day, even I'll be trekking through the Himalayas & Ladakh by myself, thanks to inspiration from you.

    I was in Dibling village in 1980. We started walking from Kishtwar crossed into Rangdum valley and stayed in Tashitongas village, crossed Pissdongla Pass to Dibling. Then followed the Oma Chu stream with manny crossings to the summer cultivations of Oma. Crossed Bramila to Lingshed and continued to Lamayuru. Two people, large loads, enough food for two months. It was a tough trek but we saw this part of the Himalayas when it was totally pristine.

    Way to go!! I've always enjoyed your videos and have immense respect for the hard work that goes into making them. I'm also aware of the intense joy you must have while following your passion!
    Could you perhaps make some videos about the more hidden aspects of your travels, things like how you decide your itinerary, how you make reservations at homestays or how you get in touch with them. How do you navigate while on longer treks, away from civilization and gadgets. A brief account of how to take care of nature's calls while camping would also be helpful.
    I feel it would be immensely helpful for people like me who have taken inspiration from you.
    Thanks and please keep up the good work!

    Excellent video! Put 2 meter cordage on the tent peg loops of your Hyperlite Pyramid Shelter. Then use 20 kilo boulders as your attachment points. Don't use tent stakes in Ladakh. Normally it's too windy and the ground is to hard. You know this already.

    • @indiainmotion
      @indiainmotion  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My normal process is to stake out the 4 corners, insert the pole to raise the tent and then use long guy lines for stability against the wind (usually with rocks). But in this case the river bed had very loose soil and my corner pegs wouldn't stay put. My alternate campsite was just a few meters away and had good hard ground for the pegs to stay put securely.

    Simplicity, minimalist effects/texts...pure landscapes with soothing narration. This work requires huge huge collaborations like NatGeo, Or any other Docuseries.
