thats a lot of snow,,,,,the wind,, yes,,we get that too,,,some years we dont get much snow in the valley,, but this year we did,,,,its about gone now,,happy to see dry ground,,,,, a late spring this year,,,,
You young bucks best enjoy all that energy while you got it. And please don't over do it. If the power goes out, cooking on that wood stove will be the ticket...yum yum...)
Nice view you got there! I’m kinda new to the channel and been enjoying your adventure vids. I only wish they were longer. I’d have no problem dedicating a good 30 to 60 minutes of your content on a weekly basis. Way better than most things on T.V. Best of luck with the “blizzard” lol! Hope you guys don’t lose power.
Scott Out-n-About welcome Scott, thanks for checking out my channel and sharing some feedback. Maybe I will do that. I just have to have enough good footage to make them engaging at that length, I think that’s the challenge. I cut my Canadian Rockies Backpacking Adventure into two longer vids, about 15mins each and also, in my playlists you’ll see Baird Brothers Temagami Adventure which are longer too. People seem to like those longer ones for sure. Glad you’re enjoying them anyways and I have a couple more big adventures that I’m cutting now. So, more to come.
Hey Jim! Love your videos. Been meaning to ask you. How do you ensure you have enough batteries on your long trips? Would be nice to maybe see your tech rig that you take with you on your adventures. What do you think?
I think I will because the place where you insert the shaft into the plastic scoop snapped a couple days after shooting this....best of both worlds hopefully, though it might not be wide enough.
Wildlife Up Close lol, okay. I was working pretty hard so I was over heating as is and it was not that many degrees below freezing. We were worried the blizzard was going to hit full on any minute so I just ran out there with a baseball cap.
Ya= it works pretty good. The ATV has the pushing-type plow on it, otherwise, I'd need one of those wide partially curved hand shovels for pushing snow too.
Becca Sierra haha, Yes and unfortunately in some cases. Got a couple things to do around here and then hoping to tap some trees and make maple syrup soon!
I always liked impending snow storms. I used to get that old..no school feeling. I would get all jazzed up.. and son of a bitch it would turn to rain. I wanted to punch the sky. Dammit! Question.. with your vast experience in the Canadian Forest do you have any suspicions to believe there are Sasquatch.. or encountered any evidence of such a creature? It would definitely make a difference to me either way. Because if anyone should know it's you.
Dude... I almost had a heart attack just watching you do that!! lol You guys are doing a great job to avoid being hooped! That is a snow sandwich you got up there for sure... you guys have had what... 6+ ft. of snow there? \What elevation are you at? How much did that storm dump all said and done? Cheers you guys!
Triumph Screen Printing the storm didn’t actually come with much snow, just winds of 110km ph which creating big snowdrifts around the house and sheds and a big drift in the porch. I think we’ve had between six and seven feet this winter, maybe closer to six though. We’re not at much of an elevation but we’re just far enough north and in a snow belt. The first real snowfall dumped a foot on Nov 14 and it hasn’t gone away since.

Yup. Thanks for reminding me, why I left Michigan.
Haha

Indeed! Thanks for watching
I hate shoveling period. Lol stay warm and safe my friend.
Moretti Outdoors ya, can’t say I’m a fan either. Will do and thanks!
Princess auto had a beauty long handle aluminum scoop, but i passed it over. I was kicking myself all winter for grabbing the plastic crap.
Chris Gerow agreed, the plastic one broke not long after this.
👍👍🤠🤓👶
Thanks for watching

Really enjoyed the Temagami series. Look forward to whatever is on the way.
@@ScottOut-n-About Thanks lot Scott! My brother and I shot that while Temagami adventure ourselves too.

What was tougher, chipping out the 7' deep fishing hole in Nunavut or shoveling this driveway?
Northern Scavenger definitely the 7’ of ice chiselling. Because it took be a solid 2 hours
OMG glad I live in San Diego
Bart Noone been there, it’s so nice!
Maybe you can change the shaft on the aluminum shovel to a longer more comfortable one?
I think I will because the place where you insert the shaft into the plastic scoop snapped a couple days after shooting this....best of both worlds hopefully, though it might not be wide enough.
that's some great shoveling there, jim.
M B thanks a lot, the snow was so hard packed it was nearly ice and then a good layer of ice underneath. I was pretty out of breath there haha
Shovel on my friend. And put on a friggin hat dude. You may be a northern badass and survived extreme situations. But put a friggin hat on!!!

I use the same shovel system myself

A big good book is essential. Brian 78
Brian Spencer indeed, I have a couple on the go but Tori seems to read a lot more books than I.
i think you were predicting the future/2020 total mess....
Yikes, ya maybe
When you use plastic shovels after bit they turn into forks great for shit snow like that
Ever shovel your roof?
no lol....I gotta shovel the shed roof this weekend though, it's getting ridiculous
Hey Jim, I'd trade some of our horizontal Scottish rain for your snow :)
Dave Outdoors Scotland I would take that trade some days because at least you don’t have to shovel rain.
You sure know ice... always hard at work ♡

Ugh crappy time of year Hope we don't get the bomb cyclone.lol
