Your onions are looking great. I ordered mine from Dixondale this year as well. Are following the fertilizer recommendation they send or doing all orgainic? I am trying organic. Some of mine look great and a few don't.
We read the instructions and recommendations but we go as organic as possible! We prepped the beds by putting a 3 to 4 inch layer of chicken run dirt. We covered that with Black Kow, just enough to plant the onions in. We hope this will supply the nitrogen the onions need. We do supplement about every two to three weeks with some blood meal and bone meal. This has worked for us in the past! We don't dig the little trenches like the instructions say and all that. @@backyardhomestead2230 That’s basically what I’ve been doing as well. I used my compost this year. Last year used Black kow. I added blood meal once and a organic fertilizer a second time. I need to hit them again with it. They look great though.
