Jansport Carson Backpack

  • The Carson Jansport was excellent, especially for the price. Well built, narrow in profile, excellent colors, useful pockets, top or panel loading, superb suspension among other benefits. It has been discussed and recomended previously in TNP backpack adventures. This is the in field review. TNP Twitter followers scored this backpack on sale 2 years ago. Still available on the secondary market, the Jansport Carson is an excellent value.//////////////////Nutnfancy Likability Scale 10 out of 10

    Thanks for the review. I definitely need to get into a better overnight pack. The one or two I have are barely cutting the mustard.

    Might as well enjoy peace while we have it, its not looking good or our future. Sometimes I wonder if this country is too far gone to recover. The general public is ignorant of whats really going on.

    More backpack reviews please. I love whenever you find a backpack you really like. I've got the Kelty Redcloud 110 and the MAP 3500 in my different systems. Both are great and probably would've bought a few garbage packs before I would've found those two on my own. Once again,we have Nutnfancy helping people save a few bucks by providing honest reviews and great advice.Keep up the good work.
    Oh, and if you happen to get an itch to review a budget priced pack, the SOG Barrage from Walmart seems like a pretty decent option at the price point. I'd love to hear your thoughts on that pack.

      Thanks buddy for the comment and the support. Unfortunately the backpack reviews get very few views and support from the subscribers, not sure really why. I think a lot of guys by their packs and then they're not really interested in looking at future reviews. I would like to do some in-store stuff just fast and dirty to give you an idea on what I think some great features are. That Redcloud is amazing

    I bought a kelty tioga about 6 or 7 years ago after seeing your review on YT. The best external frame, large pack, that money could buy.
    Mine is still in very good shape after all these years. A much younger Ally was there also for the review.

      I think for the money it is excellent, I have done for trips with it and I don't really have any criticisms on it. Another guy in the comments said he was amazed I gave this 10 out of 10 however I think he totally discounts this is just $100. If you want to spend $500 you have a lot more options, some guys just don't get it! Apparently he is made of money, a lot of my viewers aren't.

    • @EDCAdventures
      @EDCAdventures 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I got a good deal on the Kelty since I got it after the redesigned one came out. I think I paid maybe $80 for it, I'll be needing a new daypack soon though my Condor 3 Day Assault pack is going on 4 years old and is a bit heavier than what I need. I'm going as light possible within a reasonable budget, to get better gear.

    I'm still rocking the Jansport D3, old but very affordable and practical pack. Love your pack's colouration.
    What also makes a big difference is how you pack your pack, and how you adjust your belt and straps.

  • @hangemhigh2000
    @hangemhigh2000 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    You should buy this backpack. Panel loader are the most convenient and at $100 its a give me. When I go backpacking I tie a surplus weather balloon to it and fill it with helium. Then the backpack is so light it will fly away with me Little snowbirds.
    You'll see on my channel I got short wide steel edge Rossignol skis for Kris Kross skiing. Goes against anything and everything they say for Cross Country sling. I think that's what their called, I can go up the hill faster just dragging my feet and go down the other side in minutes over say hours. Make sure you wear your pants backwards for Kris Kross Skiing or you'll get shot. Moral, your friends are right, none of that is true, that's why I'm still here in the best shape ever and their not. Obviously none of its true. So even though you see me making a tutor on X-C skis, I'm not really doing it. I'm at some barroom trying to score, right?

    Another great video. I always appreciate your points of view on gear nutn. I bit the bullet and got a custom fitted Kifaru and it rocks, but was not cheap. Agree with you about external frame packs. Grew up with wood frame Boy Scout packs and then LC-1 stuff in the Army. Still have an older REI Cruiser (yeah, I'm a certified old geezer). They are just so damned versatile. As you said, the ability to lash stuff on, etc.

    Nutn when I go out like this I always take a long gun and handgun,religiously. Do you agree with me? Its essential to me to have 2 weapons and substantial ammo. Give me your take. This video should be one hour long. I miss them. You were the originator that can never be reproduced. Your brilliant success on YT was predicated on these type excursions. Where are the rest of the boys? Thanks again Nutn for your commitment. More importantly, on YT these days is a lack of good character and humbleness. You have always exhibited these fine traits. Lets get back to the old school fundamentals my friend.God bless you and your friends. Great to see Allie.My Buddy the Border Collie just turned !6 years old and can no longer come with me,I miss him dearly. I never never get tired of you backpacking. Again thank you friend.Its was so nice to see you and Alle back in the mountains and snow together. Some dsy I want to come with you guys on a winter hike. Good health to all.

    I am a double owl and I like packs. Good review, I had a bad experience with a Jansport pack a long time ago, but maybe they've improved their quality control in the past decade.
    On a completely different note any thoughts on L.L. Bean Cresta Hikers boots, I've got just over a year of hard use on mine, they seem to be pretty solid.

    You are right about a lack of options in external frame packs! I absolutely do not get it. Another good one to look at might be the German Tatonka Lastencraxe frame + pack. Expensive, but durable and it stands up on it's own, even above the snow and dirt. I, personally, really like that; especially if I've top-loaded.

  • @hambone2111
    @hambone2111 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for another backpack gear vid. I have to admit have watched a bunch of your backpack gear view but in the end I became a hammock camper. As my daughter gets older I am thinking I will end up going back to the ground. Initially I was going for lighter more compact with the hammock and cheaper. But to use a hammock in cold temps it gets bulky with under quilts ext. And expensive but nothing like the comfort of a hammock IMO. Anyway thanks again for the effort involved with sharing your outdoor adventures and gear view.
