He was such a unique character and that's why he's still my favourite character in the show. Actor, his theme, his mistakes, his sad story. And most importantly - he was right about the island, unlike the others, who didn't wanna believe him.

Sure there was a radio tower. Okay... Fair game. But seeing that John Locke in a wheelchair at the end of the show saying "DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO!" Changed my life. I knew then this show had a message & it was being delivered beautifully. LOST became my religion. I dedicated every minute of my life to it. I taped it & researched it. I rewatched it 3-5 times each night after it aired. I paused on every screen looking for clues. I hate a notebook, a spreadsheet, etc. To this day I am currently watching it again. It still makes me FEEL everything as if it's the first time & I ALWAYS see things (even on the 15th or 20th) watch through that I never caught before. It's a MASTERPIECE.
John Locke by far had one of the most, if not the most deepest & transcendent journeys. The depth of this man is mind blowing. One of the best all time characters to ever exist. The lessons he taught everyone as he progressed on his journey and the way he developed as an individual is just amazing. Young King, John Locke.
That was absolutely amazing!!!!! This is why John Locke is the best character ever of Lost. His past is so damn sad. The island is his happy place. Civilization was so cruel and horrible to him. 😔

Locke's conviction is of a divine nature. Through some very few men; a God may exist. But it's all too human a miracle. Anyone that may be fortunate enough to ever look and see eye to eye with this infinite island knows Locke is right; it's beautiful.

John Locke in season 1 was amazing and confident. I loved his story about the moth which helped Charlie kick his drug addiction. I wish he could have saw he was being played and he should have let people who wanted to leave the island leave. He never should have blown up the sub and the Flame station. Both were critical. As Ben stated to John the sub was important to allow people to think they have choice if they decided it was time to leave the island. The Flame was important because it allowed the Others to know what was happening in world which would help them know of any potential threats coming to the island. But we all have egos and want to be special and loved…which was how the MiB manipulated so many people Jacob brought to the island 🏝️.
Why John was so likeable? He was someone who always tried to fit in. His father, his girlfriend, his non related son, the 815 crew, the others... If you gave him a hand he would try to please you. Thats why he loved the island so much. The island gave him his legs back.
