    Wonderful tips, I especially love the purse within a purse and shoes within shoes suggestions. Brilliant! I've used straws to transport my fine necklaces/chains for years, it really does work well. Thank you Jill!

    Great video and such practical tips. Love the idea of splitting your clothes between your two checked bags when flying! Brilliant. Bon voyage!

    If you like rolling you should try packing cubes.

    The wife says thanks for the tips! Also, we have the same suitcase scale. I always bring it with to make sure any souvenirs don’t… well, tip the scales.

    Love the idea of all the shoes in the carry on.

    Great tips for flying. I suggest nail polish remover wipes as they are safer. Spilt or leaking nail polish remover is a disaster at the best of times. Happy landings. Shoes inside shoes and purse inside a purse - awesome ideas. I like packing cubes which make unpacking in a cabin or hotel easy.

      We've debated the packing cubes back and forth - we may have to try them on a trip.

    A purse within a purse...brilliant! I recognize that white bag from the Florence video. Love it. I've never rolled clothes, but I think I'll start. You made a good case for rolling. Thanks for the demonstration and great tips.

    Hi Jill and Jerry!! LOVE your channel and have watched most of your videos. We know how "Mr. Canuck" loves his Crown Royal and this is about packing. My husband packs his shoes in the Crown Royal bags (large) and his watches and small electronics in small ones. Have purple, and green ones. Hope you might like this idea. 🥃 👞👟🥾 👡👠🥿

    Wish my feet were small enough to pack my shoes inside my hubbys - but I’m a 8 and he’s a 9! Like you I tend to pack a cabin size bag with all the shoes. I find packing cubes useful for under wear and socks too as you can just transfer them to a shelf or drawer. I’m a ‘roller’ too.

    I will do that for my upcoming cruise thank you. We are flying Southwest. so I have one big suit case for both of us a big carry o bag and medications, a few things inside as well as your purse in a purse

  • @captainahab6089

    I tuck some small items (socks, knee highs, plastic rain pancho inside each shoe to conserve space and help the shoe from being squashed within the suit bag. We put all of our toiletries and other miscellaneous things into the carry on which are encased in zip lock bags before being zipped into a bigger plastic toiletry bag to prevent leaks. Into those smaller zip areas in the corners of the suit bag, I will place rolled underwear and. Other small items. I place tissue paper into the bottom before I place the clothes and more just prior to closing the suitcase and then remove it on the ship and place in the drawers where I will lay out the clothes. It gets tossed after packing prior to disembarkation. I also wrap up the shoes prior to placing in the suit bag and if there is more room in that “pocket area for the shoes, I might place my little zip up first aid case or other small items. I have a list on Word that I print out before traveling listing things to pack so that I won’t forget anything and another list of things to do just prior to going away such as unplug plugs, remove remotes from cars, set thermostat, give post office yellow hold the mail card, things to bring to vets for boarding, turn off main water valves, etc. makes life so much easier when you are excited to go away and have things on your mind.

      We can’t pack our toiletries in checked as we fly - and they have to be checked. Sounds like you are very organized - we’re lucky if we remember to lock the door and take the keys out of the car.

      We need to get away from these Canadian Winters without natures hair dye - a little tropical sun will help in the weeks ahead.

    I would suggest split packing even if you're driving to the port. I watched another channel where the gentleman's bag was put on another cruise ship - even though he was an experienced cruiser, it happened. The cruise ports that have many ships leaving from one area does leave a lot of risk of error on the part of the baggage handlers. Mistakes happen!

    • @CruisingCanucks
      @CruisingCanucks  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a crazy story. You always hear them looking for a bag several days into the cruise as well. Good idea.

    • @CruisingCanucks
      @CruisingCanucks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Some people love them but we’ve never found the need. They do seem to work better as an organizer than a space saver.
