That‘s the TH-cam game! I could sacrifice quality for quantity and get many more views, but then I wouldn‘t get to do cool stuff like visiting Bad Wolf Bay or greenscreening myself into the TARDIS and the confession dial. :-)
I still can't believe you went to the Bad Wolf Bay just for a cover and that is some high amount of dedication and I really appreciate it so much. Thank you for covering Doomsday for us!
You are very welcome! And your comment is much appreciated! I can tell you, after the countless hours of greenscreen trickery that I put in for the Shepherd‘s Boy video, travelling to Bad Wolf Bay felt like a vacation... and actually it was just that! I had the idea of doing this video at the actual location and then planned a two-week roadtrip around it. I got to see England‘s south coast, Cardiff, the castle from Heaven Sent, Wales Comic Con.. but Bad Wolf Bay was definitely the highlight of the trip! So no, I didn‘t go there just for a cover, but the cover sparked the idea for the whole trip! :-)
I’m not surprised. Borna has proven that he and his team are dedicated, professional musicians. They should all be household names because of their talent and ingenuity. They have truly added something special to the Dr. Who universe and helped get us all thru the pandemic. And never once did he ask for a single cent. Many would out up a Patreon account and ask for money. I would have certainly donated but he and his team did this out of love for music and for DW.
Thanks a lot, David, for your very kind words! I don‘t ask for money, indeed. The best way for all of you to support my work is to enjoy it and share it with the world. ☺️
@@BornaMatosic I respect that. So many TH-camrs are begging for money these days. So that's awesome of you. Also about the castle where heaven sent was filmed.. my family went there without telling me while I was paintball only a few minutes away. I was so mad 😂. Luckily I got to go to the doctor who experience and had a walk around the bay
Tell your family you want another castle tour! 😉 I never got to see the Doctor Who Experience! It was gone when I visited Cardiff. They still had the street signs pointing to it, though!
Did no one notice that the violinist and cellist were playing in the torchwood institute where the Doctor and Rose got separated..!!!?? The video is incredible! Thank you for giving us all such a masterpiece, it just made me cry!!!
@@LaurenSpaceTV From the one where they got separated, Canary Wharf in London. It actually was reconstituted in Cardiff nearer to the Rift. The institute has moved from place to place since it was designated as Torchwood by Queen Victoria herself, naming it after the house/mansion they were occupying. (FUN FACT: Torchwood was actually inspired by the production reels that had to be transported between the set in Cardiff with the then-production company in London. They didn't want to risk possible theft of the reels if they had "Doctor Who" on the cases, so they just mixed the letters up into, you guessed it, "Torchwood." Truth!)
I remember hearing this song back in the day in 2006 when I was a 12 year old verging on teenagehood. Here I am now so many years later at 27, still drawn to this song like so many others. This song, Billie, and David will forever remain with me. Thank you for covering my favourite TV song ever. Much love. -An English fan.
While Rose Tyler's departure doesn't get me emotionally anymore, "The Army Of Ghosts"/"Doomsday" is still a legendary finale. With a strong plot and a terrifyingly great showcase for the Daleks, even if the Cybermen really drew the short straw. As Mr. TARDIS said, it's a bit too ambitious for its own good, but a fascinating insight into how the population would view a world altering event and some great dialogue for good measure.
I like to think that, at some point, The Doctor visited his universe's version of this beach. He didn't say much of anything. He just walked along, wondering about what could have been...
Indeed! Not easy to shoot there, by the way, since the beach totally disappears during high tide, so there‘s always a time limit. They must have liked the location‘s look considering they still used it a lot.
walking down the beach as he's about to regenerate into his 11th whilst after he visit everyone (including rose) (imagine if this was a deleted scene?!!)
Just catching up with the 60th Anniversary Dr Who concert, that broadcast in the UK last night and was surprised and delighted to discover you were there and playing on the Doomsday song. Many congratulations man, you must be so proud.
Loving this much too cause today I was looking out my window. I started remembering exactly 10+ years ago again. This decade has been a hell of a ride. Lost a few non vital organs. Struck down with both a bad panic disorder and bad back...and endless nightmareish drama where I live but yet I refuse to give up. I just got lost in it all I guess even though my final season of my run has come. Never stop being brilliant like this man. Thank you for these epic remixes!
Damn, sounds like you‘ve had a rough time! Not sure what you mean regarding your final season, but I do hope you have a long and good run left! A clever man once said that life is all about the running, running and more running. So never give up my friend and I wish you a brilliant new year!
shadowbane, this is the man here. Your ride has been like those of many of us. We are all expertly traumatised, programmed and handled - never worry. We are in good hands.
I don’t know if you take requests... but I would totally LOVE to hear you guys cover “This is Gallifrey” by Murray Gold. It would sound so amazingly awesome with your version
Cut in Rose screaming silently in her room, tears running down her face, just as it hits the vocals... Yeah. Would probably (definitely) be a tear jerker.
It‘s a beautiful spot and it was amazing to be there! We were actually on a two week roadtrip and did some sightseeing along England‘s south coast before driving up to Wales for this videoshoot. We visited Cardiff, too, and the castle that was used for the filming of Heaven Sent. Our final stop was Wales Comic Con, where we almost met David Tennant and Billie Piper!
Wait. When Jackie said that it was in “Bloody Norway”, was she just being thick? I’ve been thinking that they somehow drove to Norway all these years. Edit: Nevermind I just googled it. Canonically it was in Norway but it was filmed in South Wales. I was overthinking it.
If you wonder how can a beach makes you sad.. as if what washing up onto the shore is an ocean of tears, a lifetime of anguish, and unspoken pain that is infectious and eternal. What you're walking on is not just sand, but fragments of your heart, ashes of an utterly crushed broken heart
Thanks a lot! The inspiration came after I had spent a long time doing greenscreen postproduction for the Heaven Sent video. Filming at the actual location meant we had to travel about 850km, but it was much more fun than trying to fake it! :)
Not counting the intro themes themselves (12's, if you're wondering)... That is a good question! I mean, pretty much everything from Heaven Sent qualifies. My third favorite would be the 12's "action theme," (not "A Good Man?" but the one during action sequences; I don't know the name). And for ones that aren't 12 and 10, probably "I am The Doctor." How about you?
Absolutely beautiful! How has this only got 25k views!!? i am visiting Dunraven Bay over the weekend. Im putting my headphones and on and taking a walk on the beach with this song playing to really get the feel
Thanks a lot! Enjoy your trip to Bad Wolf Bay! That‘s so cool that you‘re planning to listen to this song there! 😊 Don‘t forget to check the tide times or there will be no beach to walk on (that‘s why I‘m standing on the cliff overlooking the Bay in some parts of the video). It‘s a great place, have fun!!
I lost my sister in 2018 and this was her favourite place to come and think also doomsday is her favourite doctor who song and episode. Thank you borna
You’re very welcome! And sorry for your loss! I can see why it was her favourite place. It’s a beautiful spot and if you’re a Doctor Who fan it‘s even more magical to be there! Filming this music video on that beach will remain a cherished memory for me. ☺️
4:11 I swear im hearing a part of the doctors theme played on the guitar. But I can't tell when it starts or end. But it's amazing and beautiful! Is that the reference?
Haha yes, it does look like I‘m disappearing! But there‘s more. The location where the cellist and violinist are performing.. could it be based on something? 🤔
You've beautifully captured that iconic moment, even got me a little misty-eyed as I recalled it! Well done! You've made this year bearable , Borna. Thank you. I'm really looking forward to your offerings in the New Year.
Thanks! I already did Shepherd‘s Boy, you can find it on my channel. There‘s a link to it at the end of this Doomsday video and in the video description. 😊
Oh. My. God. This is.... idk somehow my inner intense fan girl is coming out and I’m at a loss for words... it’s is sooooo good and this deserves wayyyyy more views. Also... you have my 1000% respect for playing it at the actual Bad Wolf Bay
Thank you very much, Monika! Those are very kind words and I‘m glad to see your enthusiasm! ☺️ If you have DW friends, share the vid with them so we can get those views up! 😉 Recording the video at Bad Wolf Bay made total sense and felt like a pilgrimage. I loved doing it!
Wow!!!!! First you did "The Shepherd's Boy" witch is mine favorite and here we are at Bad Wolf Bay with Doomsday... I have no words... just awesome! Thank you for that emotions)
You are very welcome! Thank you for listening! After Shepherd‘s Boy and Doomsday, which song would be your next favorite that you‘d like to see covered?
@@BornaMatosic I can't choose 1 over many. There are a lot of good theme like Bad Wolf or new Master's theme or Donna's theme or probably (my ringtone) The Majestic Tale of An Idiot With A Box
Thank you. Danke. I have cried many a time to the original, but today the tears were new and necessary. The coronavirus social distancing means that I am alone in my dorm, hundreds of miles from friends and family. It feels like they're a world away and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate finding this beautifully executed cover in these trying times.
Thank you, Alon! I'm sorry you're feeling so isolated, but I'm glad that this cover brought you joy! As hard as social distancing can be, Rose and 10 had it worse - at least we're all still connected through the internet. And we don't even have to burn up a sun for it to work! Keep your head up, better times are coming! :)
2 years this cover has been out, and still it highly underappreciated. You did a wonderful job with this! Makes me almost start crying again, like when I first watched the scene!
Thanks a lot! Over 100k views is a good range that I‘m very happy with, plus I‘ve received tons of brilliant comments like yours just now. So all is good! ☺️
Phenomenal cover. Nice to see you enjoyed the trip and such around Wales. Makes a Welshman like myself happy to see others enjoy the area and scenery around here. :D
I just found this today. Doomsday is my favorite piece of music from the series and you did an amazing job with it. BTW, my nephew is taking up the cello and I've been searching in vain for the sheet music with the cello part for him to learn. Any pointers to where I could find it?
Thank you, I‘m happy to hear you like our cover! I don‘t know if there‘s sheet music available for Doomsday. I did my own arrangement by ear. Which is why I recommend ear training - your nephew will be able play anything with or without sheet music. It’s a great instrument. Tell him I said good luck and have fun playing!
Dude you rock! Fantastic!!! And didnt realize at first where the Cellist and Violin Player were unti; I read Naga Sree’s comment - now I kmnow why those ropes or wires or whatever those things are in the background look so familiar!!! All around amazing talent and nostagic Who at the same time! Awesomely well done!!!
Amazing cover and amazing memories of such a good emotional heartrending scene! You're at our favourite beach. We have been going every summer for the past few years since we first binge watched all the 'new' Doctor Who ie 2005 onwards. We love it there.
Thank you for the kind words! I agree, the beach is a special place. I got lucky and found a moment where nobody else was there so I could shoot this video. Cheers!

Just had to make a comment on how well you perfected doomsday with your cover. Loved everything you put into this. This is what pure beauty sounds like Murray Gold would be so proud
Hey BBC, please get this man the title of Season 13 Composer! Borna, you somehow take Murray's already mind blowing music and somehow take it and you elevate it to all new territory. This is the kind of music I was seriously missing in season 11, not to say s11 had bad music....I just miss this aspect haha.
@@BornaMatosic Yeah man. Im consistently popping your videos open on my lunch breaks to decompress and just let the world melt away before getting back out and dealing with the crap. It's downright criminal your videos don't have more views. It's been a while since I uploaded but, with your permission, I'd love to post a preview of some of your content on my channel. I'd to see how many of the 13k subs I have are still watching and can get them over here to get the word out. Hopefully one day we'll see a time where your channel can support you making more videos like this without all the expense falling on you! Selfishly I hope for a full cover of The Doctor's Theme :D
Wow! I‘m truly honored that my videos have such a positive effect! TH-cam can indeed be frustrating when trying to offer quality over quantity. Good to hear from you again, Luke! Thanks a lot, I‘m glad you like it! And man, our trip to Bad Wolf Bay was magical. We were very lucky that the stars aligned, the rain stopped and suddenly we had the whole beach just for ourselves!
One of my favourite Murray Gold compositions for the series. I loved your arrangement, the solos from each instrument are superb and the way they merge together really works well. The footage of Bad Wolf Bay is a lovely bonus. Well done, a truly special project.
I was only seven when Doomsday first broadcast, so unlike many the emotional impact never hit me. Then I discovered this when it popped up in my feed and it drove me to start watching again. I can barely listen to this without suffering from onion ninjas so how on earth I'll manage the episode is...going to be interesting. Knowing what is to come just makes it so much worse. So thank you for this.
You‘re very welcome! So this music video inspired you to rewatch the show? That‘s fantastic! 😊 Good luck managing the episode, it‘s a very iconic moment in DW history!

@@BornaMatosic are you disappearing at the end like the doctor did, or am I just imagining it?
Haha yes, it does look like I‘m disappearing! But there‘s more. The location where the cellist and violinist are performing.. could it be based on something? 🤔
@@BornaMatosic OOH TORCHWOOD! How did I miss this?
You've beautifully captured that iconic moment, even got me a little misty-eyed as I recalled it! Well done!
You've made this year bearable , Borna. Thank you. I'm really looking forward to your offerings in the New Year.
Very glad to have you along for the ride! Have a fantastic new year, my friend! :-)
Increadible! You should do "Shepherd's boy" too.
Thanks! I already did Shepherd‘s Boy, you can find it on my channel. There‘s a link to it at the end of this Doomsday video and in the video description. 😊
burning up a sun just to say goodbye
So epic!
Chills... Literal chills
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
Oh. My. God. This is.... idk somehow my inner intense fan girl is coming out and I’m at a loss for words... it’s is sooooo good and this deserves wayyyyy more views. Also... you have my 1000% respect for playing it at the actual Bad Wolf Bay
Thank you very much, Monika! Those are very kind words and I‘m glad to see your enthusiasm! ☺️
If you have DW friends, share the vid with them so we can get those views up! 😉
Recording the video at Bad Wolf Bay made total sense and felt like a pilgrimage. I loved doing it!
Only just found this, the video is beautiful and so is your voice!
Thank you very much! I wish I could sing like this! 😂
The singer is the brilliant Stefanie J.! I‘m the one on guitar. ☺️
this is brilliant; hearing pieces of doctor who music is always fun. i hope you one day cover vale decem, maybe even the end of logopolis
Thank you, Ethan! Vale Decem is one of my favourites and high up on my covers to-do list! 😊
It sounds almost like the original soundtrack amazing work man ❤
Thanks a lot! ☺️🙏 Cheers!
You‘re right, so many good ones! 😊
You’ve only gone and done it again 🙌❤️
Thank you, Andy!! 😊
The original sent shivers in me but this is next level 👌 beautiful.
Thank you and merry christmas! ☺️
@BornaMatosic merry Christmas to you too 🎄
Reminds me of Martha and the Osterhagen Key, making their way to doomsday
Thank you.
Thanks a lot, Mr. Welshman! You live in a beautiful part of the earth! ☺️
@@BornaMatosic Thank you very much. :)
Thanks a lot, mate! Much appreciated! Good to see you recognized the room even if you couldn‘t pinpoint it! Cheers! ☺️
Thank you TH-cam for recommending me this piece of art ❤️ one year later though...
Glad you found it after all, Raquel!
Have a look at my channel, you might find some more „art“! 😉
@@BornaMatosic Sure!
this is the beauty that comes out fans working together
Thanks a lot! ☺️🙏
Cheers!
Incredible piece of work my guy :) one of my favourite series as a kid and still my favourite piece of music from it. Can't wait to see what you do next
Thanks a lot! Happy you liked it! ☺️
This is awesome! I had so many childhood holidays spent at that beach so I was so excited to see it in Doctor Who!
Thank you, Andrew! Must have been a magical childhood! ☺️
Absolutely amazing, played with so much emotion, It’s really plucked the heartstrings, please do more.
Thank you, Gary! Much appreciated! ☺️
2020 halfway through Lockdown and I discover you, first the Long Song, then looked more and found this.
Currently watching the last episodes of Real Dr Who.. Torchwood Miricle day, which is difficult..
Glad to hear you looked around after finding the Long Song! :-)
We just went back to the beginning of Dr. Who and I have become obsessed with this song. DUDE!!! You guys are awesome!! My jaw is dropped open. I LOVE your cover, and am speechless it was shot at Bad Wolf Bay!!!!!! You all just made my millennium. Will be sharing and listening. On a scale of 1 to 10 I rate this 10 million stars!! Thank you, Bravo!!!
What a wonderful comment! Thank you for all the kind words, it’s much appreciated! I‘m glad you like this so much! ☺️
Traveling to Bad Wolf Bay to film this was a great experience. It‘s a magical place!
You absolute madman you did it again !!
Once again i am quite moved by your cover :D
I kinda have a suggestion if it is possible to make a next cover
The majestic tale of a madman in a box or The Enigma of River Song
(or something in between, i trust your capable skills)
You make absolutely fantastic work ^_^
Thanks a lot, much appreciated! 😊
Those are great suggestions! I‘m not sure yet which one I‘ll do next, but there will be more Doctor Who content!
Just had to make a comment on how well you perfected doomsday with your cover. Loved everything you put into this. This is what pure beauty sounds like Murray Gold would be so proud
Great compliment, thank you! Maybe someday Murray Gold will see it. 😊
You did it you actually did it I'm very happy with the outcome please do more doctor who related themes such as Westminster bridge!
I guess I did!! 😂 Thanks a lot! I‘m sure there will be more Who-related music!
@@BornaMatosic pleasure is mine I really like when Remixers give doctor who songs what they really derseve!
Doomsday is one of my absolute favorites, so I definitely wanted to do it justice! 🤟
Wow, this really need more views : It's awesome !!
Thanks a lot!! Spread the word, let everybody see it! 🥳
I can't see nothing, because my eyes are closed feeling this chills, I loved too much this cover ❤️❤️❤️❤️😭😭❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much! I‘m glad you liked the cover so much! 😊
Such a great compliment, thanks!! Good to see you‘re still watching my stuff! 😊
My videos need help from word of mouth, since the algorithm mostly refuses to do its job. ;-) So yes, if you want to give it a go, feel free to post excerpts on your channel. I definitely appreciate the help! :-)
And of course, The Doctor‘s Theme is still on my list of covers I‘d like to do!
You know... you've gone and done it again, another fantastic cover! I really liked that you managed to film at the actual location too! Keep up the amazing work!
Good to hear from you again, Luke! Thanks a lot, I‘m glad you like it! And man, our trip to Bad Wolf Bay was magical. We were very lucky that the stars aligned, the rain stopped and suddenly we had the whole beach just for ourselves!
An equal mixture of incredibly daft and monstrously epic. And man that’s a good cover. Terrific stuff.
Thanks! 😂
HOLLY SHIT I think this is the best cover I've ever seen and I've been here for a while
Thanks a lot, Ronan! That‘s very kind! ☺️
My wife just head this and asked, "What's that?" and I responded "Does it need saying?"
Good one! 😁
One of my favourite Murray Gold compositions for the series.
I loved your arrangement, the solos from each instrument are superb and the way they merge together really works well. The footage of Bad Wolf Bay is a lovely bonus.
Well done, a truly special project.
Thank you for your kind words! Doomsday is one of my favourites too. I‘m happy to hear you liked our version!
Good luck managing the episode, it‘s a very iconic moment in DW history!
good luck!!
OH MY GOD i've wanted a guitar cover of Doomsday and now i have it Best Xmas Present ever i know it's 5 days after but still SO GOOD
Yes, Santa is late this year! 😂
Haunting. Wistful. Magnificent.
Thank you!! :-)
This is absolute perfection 😍😍😍 having listened to your Doctor Who tracks today, I’d love to hear what you’d do with a track like “All The Strange Strange Creatures” - I can just imagine you making it a haunting and epic experience to listen to 😍 please don’t ever stop the Doctor Who tracks - you and your team are amazing!
Thank you very much for the kind words, Joey! ☺️
All The Strange Strange Creatures is great, it‘s definitely on my to-do list!
By the way, these tracks are all on Spotify/Apple Music etc., so if you‘re using those, you can save the tracks there and give me a follow. Otherwise keep listening on TH-cam. 😉

Stunning. Absolutely stunning. You're all incredibly talented!!!!! It would be amazing to hear versions of Face The Raven, A Good Man, The Singing Towers, A Duty of Care or any track really as you could do anything justice!!!
Thanks so much! Those are all great suggestions! Murray Gold provided us with a ton of incredible themes!
My mind was just blown!!!!! I suscribed of course, I looove Doomsday, I even used it as an opening for my concerts hahaha

Thanks again, David! Most of the effort for this one went into actually travelling to Bad Wolf Bay. It was worth it!
Borna Matosic Did you go to the one in Wales or the one in Norway?
The one in Wales was closer! 😊
1:20 best part!
