Superb, although this is my first listening. I DO wonder, just in the beginning of the piece, whether it was rendered as the composer would have seen fit. Seemed slightly awkward (just at first), but then developed and finished beautifully. I haven't seen the score , so ...ONLY my opinion(!) BRAVO.
I was in the audience. I was wondering if they were playing Ferneyhough correctly considering they sometimes played gestures at the same time. I am of course joking, A good performance of heavily demanding music.
By all measures one should find this music "screechy" yet it is not - therefore genius. Ftr, G F Haas and Manoury are screechers whose music sounds screechy. And therefore not genius.
If a busker was playing this in the street folks would think he was off his head. I can't find anything to like about this music if it can be called that. Complete rubbish and a waste of time and effort.
1) Not really music for buskers 2) Yes...a "waste of time" for those too impatient to listen 3) Music with sonic V A R I E T Y isn't always wasted; simply NOT your "cup of tea", which is reasonable. Yes, not ALL will like it.
Yet another dollop of Ferneyhoughia given a pretentiously archaic title - this one, roughly translated, is ancient Greek for "Time to fuck off out of here" - in a failed attempt to lend intellectual weight to what is actually a piece of unplayable shite.
... "unplayable" ...and yet they're PLAYING it. NOT of the "Mary Had a Little Lamb" milieu. My brain DRINKS this up; I feel way more alive after, wait for it, -truly L I S T E N I N G.
It took me a while to get into Ferneyhough ... now I'm addicted.
Yeah then compose a piece with the title #&gbeFcbld**(//gg
Wonderful.
so good ...
1977年からファンです。
I've been a fan since 1977.
Good for you...I'd never heard of him, 'till just recently. He's a gem, if not courageous.
Love this. I find it much more accessible than his larger ensemble works.

THANK YOU!!

GOOD point. Demanding to compose, render, AND truly LISTEN to. Tremendous work ethic behind this.
The viola is out of tempo... as usual. Lol. :p
This whole music is out of tempo. That is what makes it so great..
Lol ... viola jokes.
I'd say "more cowbell" but........... aaah, TOO LATE(!) Just kidding, this work has lots of FUN, variety, and controversy (to some).
Cela ressemble à de la musique inachevée. Pas eu le temps de finir ?
INTERESTING viewpoint! What would be needed to ADD (without seeming excessive...)? Others might desire to trim it DOWN. Hey, to each his/her own.

Quand est-ce que les musiciens arrêtent de s'accorder et jouent ensemble ?
whenever you stop whining
charlyfotos moment
I GET it; I've heard that criticism articulated that same sarcastic way -too many times... cute.
Зачем писать такую музыку?
Для извращенцев???
Interesting: What's perverted about it . . . . . ... ?

I always appreciate a negative response. I disagree with your opinion but I do think people have knee jerk positive responses to contemporary music.
