I purchased this for my dad sometime around early 2014 and found this video today because I have someone looking to purchase it from me. This was a step-up for my dad from his old rollator. It has an excellent look and functionality! My dad loved it, as did many people who saw it. I would not recommend it indoors for everyone...you have to know to use the brakes as needed versus a walker. Dad used it indoors and outdoors with ease and it rolled through his bath door without doing anything. He shaved, put on cremes and took pan baths on it; the brakes are better than most rollators. I'd suggest it to anyone looking to purchase a rollator. As for the person mentioning footrests...this rollator does not need that. We also had a very nice wheelchair/rollator combo that had footrests...mostly a wheelchair with handle brakes that worked great. I'm sure many companies make similar but ours was a NOVA Comet. 2 great purchases!!!

I use my Nitro in the house every day. This helps me to walk. I’m totally disabled and without the Nitro I would lose more muscle than I already have. I have had many stop and ask me where to get a Nitro. When I can’t walk to where I need to I use my electric wheelchair.

I would assume you should set the brake - then sit? The seat is always in position to be used unless folded up.

@@rockonfreddie9434 *if you have the money* you can buy one without a perscription. but not everyone has $200 on hand to buy equipment, least of all elderly and disabled people.
otherwise you have to go through your doctor and hope your insurance approves the exact equipment you need.
LOVE mine....especially because it folds/narrows, at a restaurant. Less intrusive.
To sadly sit , activate the park brake by pushing both brake handle firmly down till they click & lock down . To release park brake Pull both brake levers up to normal operating position.
they mnake strollers stronger than the rollators for seniors! can any of these rollators' wheels be swapped out for heavier duty/sturdier wheels?

I assume that the patient sits on the rollator then pushes it around whilst seated.
You do NOT sit in it--can be dangerous if someone is pushing you or you're pushing it yourself. It's only for assisted walking.
Of course you can sit in it if you're not moving.
It would be kind of like using a shopping cart with brakes and a seat to use when the user is fatigued.
MUST turn the break off before sitting.

Its very sturdy you'll be able to travel on public transportation andbor shop and carry out daily activities easily. It is an x fold should fit the back of a normal size car or taxi. Avoid the newer model, get the original first model demonstrated here.

no, but you can get this in a petite, regular or tall. seat is at a different height for each.
How tall do th handles go up.

Lori Chambo no it’s not, handle is rubber don’t even feel it. Best walker I have, I bought up and got the one you can use as transport chair also. It has leg rest and someone can push me when my legs and back just can’t take walking anymore
@@monalyn9090 agree! This soft seat is very durable (I'm no lightweight and I have had this for daily use for 5 years already and going strong). Anyone trying it LOVE it over the hard seats on standard walkers

I wish you would have a person with arthritic hands using the adjusters. It is all well and good for agile hands but my hands cannot move like his and I have no strength in the fingers.
The release for height of hand rails (up/down) can be pushed in with the back or side of a hand also, then use other hand to lift handle bar "each side separate". The back strap support for seating would be difficult in that it has a knob area that must be loosened then returned to tightened position after adjustment. Fortunately you need to make this adjustment ONLY once. This design or others might not be safe if you cannot squeeze the brake grips tho.
this is a recurring problem with demonstration videos from ablebodied salespeople and occupational therapists.
i recommend reading lots of critical reviews for the products you're interested in, especially on the amazon product pages. written reviews will include hints about whether something is too stuff, bulky, or heavy, etc. for disabled users with limited strength and mobility to operate.
This is a winner
No demonstration on how brakes work - stay locked if pushed down, squeeze up to temporarily slow for ramps and up/down a curb. No demonstration of curb tipper. Therefore I can't use this video for patient education remotely.

This would've been great if it only comes with footrests.
I agree - this should have been made as a transport chair also with the footrests - I hope Drive is listening and will do this in the 'NEAR" future...
They do have one w foot rests. It’s called the Nitro Duet. Don’t know how long that model has been on the market.

This is great for shorter people under 6 ft, very little out their for us tall people!
It works fine for our tall person . I think it’s better for his 6 ft than my 5’2”.

front wheels and wheel bearings have fallen off twice and yes they tried to blame me after 3 months of use. This was purchased at Rexall in Welland Ontario Canada. where can I buy new parts? DO NOT BUY.

Guys, seriously you can do better. The curb assist wasn’t covered and the way you end this video with a mumbling cut to your company logo…just not stellar.
I won't buy a nitro rollator. Nobody should because their product is not durable they blame the disabled user for the manufacturers modeling err. Don't buy any Nitro product.
We dragged one for 3 weeks in Europe and it held up fine.
Don't know how anyone can use any rollator.When I tried it rattled like mad and shook every bone and muscle in my body. Horrible experience .
I bought one almost 2 years ago now and take it everywhere -- shopping, walking, and fairs, etc until COVID. Has been a Godsend; without it I would be in permanent physical therapy. The only problem I have with it now is that it is time to replace the wheels due to wear.
No, no, no. Internal brake cables froze, wobbles when handles raised, two bolts unscrew themselves after repeated folding, extension adjustment nut on lhs never functioned well, the grommet on seat came lose ripping my pants and cutting my butt deeply. If this be Drives best effort i hope it plummets them into bankruptcy. Oh, btw, yhe large wheels are functionally useless on gravel. I had the cheap Drive for 5 years sans these issues PLUS i flyfished c the other magnificent Drive for two season IN the Delaware river.
Summary. The Nitros designer should be shot.
Another thing, the Nitro is a lot heavier than the better, less $ Drive models. I was once a strong, healthy guy but now im constantly straining my groin putting it in and out of cars.
