Lucy has complete mastery of pitch, breathing, vibrato, enunciation, shape of her mouth, a delivery style that pulls the listener in, and much more. To date, Lucy's Hallelujah has had over 10 million views. Lucy is probably in the top 5 percent of all singers worldwide. Discovered her about 2 months ago , seen this video pop up on you tube and figured what the heck, I'm not religous but what the heck , never ever heard of here but BOOOOOM !!!!! she got this old mans attention right away, so I started researching and WOWSER !!! what talent, she has about 60 songs recorded and playing on You tube, I managed to find all three of her albums and I have probably listened to all of them at least q half dozen times...What talent and quality of her singing !!!! Now that you've discovered one of the best young voices out there, you should try, probably the best one and the one that got the whole young singer craze started ten years ago. That would be Jackie Evancho. You could pick any song from her first appearance on America's Got Talent as a classical singer to her appearance last year as The Kitty on Masked Singer showing her range of genres. Grown men have been known to cry hearing her voice. My favorite of her early works is either Nessun Dorma from a guest appearance on Britain's Got Talen or "Lovers" from her first of three solo concerts for PBS, both when she was 11.
OlsBoiler I too have followed Jackie from the start but she has been gone the last couple of years and she is back after getting her head back together, seem getting to be an adult and the eating disorder, and parents divorsing and the "situation" with her brother (sister???) and the crap she took for singing at trumps inaguation, has taken a tool on her, and she seems over concerned with her looks also, and the make up short tight clothes she never wore before.. BUT I now prefer Lucy Thomas's singing to Jackies, Lucy has more music/tone/quality in her singing and better range !! And is more down to earth !!! Just a Better singer !!!
@@wilburfinnigan2142 Alright, yes and no. Lucy is a totally different singer than Jackie. Lucy's voice would be considered a Broadway, or in her case West End, voice. Jackie has a more traditional classical soprano voice. Also, while Lucy has a good range, Jackie's is much higher as befits her style. Lucy has more power which befits Broadway as can be heard in her cover of "Memory" from Cats. Yes, Jackie went into a self-imposed exile for a while and some of what you said may have contributed to it, but she also broke her back in two places in a car accident. She was diagnosed with anorexia when she was 15. As far as being too concerned with her looks, that's way off base. Along with the anorexia, she suffers from body dysmorphia. That came at the same time or before the anorexia and may have caused it. What that is is a disorder of visual perception of yourself. She can't look in the mirror and see the real Jackie. She sees any little perceived imperfection and her mind amplifies it and distorts the image so all she sees is ugly. The anorexia can be controlled, the dysmorphia can't. As far as her clothes, You're part of the problem. No, she didn't wear short tight skirts before, but she was a kid. Like too many of her so-called fans, you never want her to grow up. She's 22 and dresses as such for wherever she happens to perform. If it's a concert, she still wears gowns but if she has a club gig, then she'll dress for the club setting. Apparently, you never listened to the words to "Apocalypse" that she wrote. It spells out her feelings about "fans" like you who always want to see her as a 10 year old.

I raised 2 girls and I have 4 grand daughters all older than either of the two young ladies. and no I do NOT like to see these young ladies showing off their bodies in short skin tight low cut garb, I like to see them modest. From what I heard of Jackie she had a hard time accepting her body as she grew and develops, she gained her fame as a child star and she grew into a young lady, caused problems with acceptance and all the other things I mentioned came from her or her friends. I look for the quality of the singing, not the package it comes in, and yes I am an old man, and I like quality singing, I do not care for the screaming many do. I guess she must wear skirts to her ankles and tops buttoned up to her neck to please you. You have misinterpreted her issues growing up. She said in an interview that when she grew into her teen years and her body changed, that she was performing with adult singers with adult bodies and she was still tiny and didn't look like them. That was her challenge. You give yourself away again when you said that you liked her singing for her age. I like her singing no matter what her age. I also like Lucy. You don't get a monopoly on age. I'm also considered old and have grandkids, including a granddaughter, so you're not special. I've been listening to great voices for over 60 years. I like what Lucy sings, but I also like the fact that Jackie has the courage to branch out into other genres besides classical. I will be buying Jackie's new album when it comes out next month. You'll like the album cover, her dress goes all the way to the ground.
