This incredible race (in its original, full length) was held in some of the WORST weather conditions imaginable (pouring rain & windy), during the aftermath of Hurricane Ike... so bad in fact that officials eventually red-flagged the race for rider safety.
A nail-biter right to the end, with a full roster of the worlds best riders all vying for a win, after several laps an epic battle emerges between Hayden (R.I.P. brother) & Rossi, along with Andrea Dovizioso, Ben Spies and so many other legends in the sport. Who wins? Well, we wouldn't want to spoil it...you'll just have to watch and see!
Originally aired on NBC, this was culled from our vast collection with the full race now presented by YKP without commercial interruption. The original broadcast was captured in standard definition, but now available for viewing in all resolutions, up to 1080p.

I WAS THERE! They blasted "Rock Me Like A Hurricane" over and over. Watching Rossi win after that crazy race was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen.

The conditions were ridiculous! I was in the Honda corporate suite, so we stayed warm and dry until someone would open the balcony door. With 65 mph wind, it would take two or three people to push it closed. While I didn’t meet him personally, Takeo Fukui, president of Honda Motor Co. was in the same suite. Rossi’s victory was disappointing to the Honda people as well as his family and friends from Kentucky, but it was an exceptional race under the most extreme conditions imaginable for motorcycle racing.
