i remember having that same pineapple cake .....my aunt from taiwan gave me some of it and it taste so good the dough was kinda tarty and the jam is not so sweet

@WebStory Personally I don't think it's that smelly. It taste like crispy tofu with a savoury taste. Idk, maybe Western people's noses are more sensitive.

I've been to the same shop they ate the stinky tofu, i can tell you thats the not even close to what it can be, I have had way stinkier and delicious tofu, but the one thing that gets me is they have fermented soya bean paste which taste and smells exactly the same.

Is it really stinky? Like how does it smell? Is it worst than the fried dried fish?
Worse. While the scent of fried dried fish makes you uncomfortable, the scent of stinky tofu makes you want to puke outright. Imagine the scent of fermented food that has gone sour? And its tofu, so it really soaks up the "flavour" much more than fish. That's the best I can describe it.
Smells bad but it tastes really good, that's the beauty of it.

I’m from Taiwan, and I actually really like the smell and I love to eat it, but it’s probably just because I’m used to it? It’s something you probably wouldn’t be used to but worth a try because u might like it 😊
