For many years before finally going no contact, my mother continually degraded me anytime and anyway she could.
It was very difficult to overcome, but I began thinking about how people would respond to me without seeing me or knowing me as in something as simple as paying my utility bills on the phone.
It was not uncommon for the person on the other end to have a heartfelt conversation that went beyond the business transaction and several times I have received a thank you card in the mail from the person telling me that they enjoyed the conversation and being of service.
Such interactions have nothing to do with outward appearances and if arrogant, haughty, peacock energy was being directed , I seriously doubt they would given me the time of day!
