Sam drawing male characters is so rare you can count how many he has drawn on under two hands (Well, that we know of)
And he still came out fantastic!
And, interesting enough, while his girls still suffer from a bit of same-face-syndrome (I know he's aware of that issue and actively addressing it and indeed has made notable progress in this regard), his male characters are all completely unique. Like, not just unique in the Sam-verse, but in a "never seen before" kind of way.

Sam, I love your art and videos but I think it's important that I tell you this, ChatGPT is similar to those AI image generators it has copyrighted works of writers of all kinds, research, non-fiction, fiction and literary have been used without their permission or compensation just like us artists

I think the way he use the chat gpt is the right way. For AI image generators user, people just instandly use the image that AI stole from artist and made up. While what Sam did is using Chat gpt as a brain-storm tool for his art - which he draw by himself, not by AI - which make AI a tool just like google search, only more detail.

@@paylialyla2442 ChatGPT is made by OpenAi who have made the largest engine that ripped so much artwork (and personal photos!) off of the internet for the art generators in the first place. Using ChatGPT supports them by giving them traffic and ad viewage when they're the main villains in this whole mess of AI ethics and artist copyright.

Disappointed in how everyone is campaigning against genAI for visual arts, but then don't have integrity to do same for written arts, especially someone like Sam who was so hurt with genAI to promote ChatGPT trained by same unethical standards.
I'm afraid this will hurt our anti-AI community validity way more than a lot of shit, just because people hate lack of integrity/hypocrisy more than anything else.
And to be precise, I don't find what he's doing particularly outraging. Just badly timed out. But people exaggerate such things, as they usually do.

@@futured8060 Yeah... It didn't put all that code by itself either, it's made the same way as image gen AI, except they plundered text and code (much of it copyrighted) on the Internet rather than pictures.

Exactly. When he very rarely draws male characters, they are actually unique and not cookie cutter conventionally attractive. His art is amazing, wish he would apply the creativity to _all_ characters. He clearly has a type 😑

I'm somewhat disappointed that an artist promotes AI in any form, and the majority of ppl don't realize how bad and harmful it is..

Spiderverse used its own inhouse trained AI to aid artists using ONLY their own work that they then only kept to use for the movies so that they could keep that comic book/stylized look they have for the movies. It helped with budget and time spent on the movie without outright replacing people. That's how it should be instead of the web-scrapped services like ChatGP, Dall-E, etc. But sadly the Spiderverse's team's example of using legal and ethical sources seems to be the minority of usage. :(

Braids are easy to draw if you know how. Draw one side as a curve (a bit like the lower right half of an oval) repeatedly (directly beneath one another). Then, do the same on the other side, but inverted, and aligned ½ a bump lower (so that the innermost point of each stroke aligns with the middle part of its opposite end).

I understand why you did this, especially considering the disgusting manner which AI grifters have targeted your art and person, but please do not give OpenAI any free publicity. They're an org which has exploited workers to develop their product, stolen as much (or more) copyrighted art and works as anyone else, use a ton of resources every day to grift (360,000 gallons of water a day to cool a data center) and more. It is an extremely dangerous tech that shouldn't be promoted. Please consider this in the future for promotion of AI. I do not hate on you, just the tech and the companies.
Look, it sucks when au steals art, it sucks when it's used to steal period. But I think people need to consider the good that detailed ai can do. It could be used to farm, care for te elderly, ect and also anti virus defence and online safety it just depends on who's useing it and why. It's a tool just like any other, it's not to blame for how it is used.

Its not just stealing art, it's taking people's jobs and making artists irrelevant. And ai art is not even its own, its an amalgamation of everything it stole without permission. Stop acting like artists have no reason to be pissed off at this. Ai generated art is literally unethical.

We talk about AI that helps deaf patients to hear and mute to talk by processing their brain waves, automating monotone jobs, helping doctors with diagnosis(Already proven that AI outperformed irl experienced doctors with guessing diagnosis right based on symptoms), becoming surgery copilot, coding copilot, giving more possibilities in space projects, and I can go on and on, you people just can't fathom how great AI will be in the near future.
I've never thought of using the ChatGPT in this way. I'm not a fan of AI stuff, but, sometimes, I see apps and software that may give me some help. If ChatGPT is open in my country, I'll give it a try.

While search engines index and retrieve information from the internet, ChatGPT, as an AI language model, generates responses based on the patterns and knowledge it has been trained on. About the AI thing: there's a good chance Sam was unaware that ChatGPT steals art from writers similarly to AI image generation. It's not as spoken about, and Sam - or anyone - cannot be expected to know everything. If Sam already knew this, then he is a hypocrite as you say he is. However he may have not been aware of this, as I wasn't before seeing the comments on this video.
In fact it only has trained data from 2021 lmao.
And those trained data are licensed, it’s not like they can go inside a website and steal and copy all the data. OpenAi publicly stated that they got permission from certain websites to use there data
