A thing about the disparity of prison or jail time is the fact that most of the time if someone is getting more time than another for the same crime that person has had more prior arrests than the person who doesnt have such a long wrap sheet. I saw it in court the other week, a white guy had more priors than a black guy and they both got caught speeding, the black guy got less punishment than the white guy. Judges tend to treat each case as the individual case they should. Not to say our prison system is perfect, far from it.

The way prison works, is if you get put in jail once for one thing... you get put jail for longer the second time you commit the same crime. Basically, the more you get put in jail, the longer you'll be in for.
