The problem with my old Weber (that I love) is that even with the fold out side tray it didn't offer enough space for food prep or taking food off the grill and placing it in a dish. The Keter is perfect for this. The storage is a bonus which I quickly took advantage off. Thanks for your review!
Hi there, many thanks for your comment, I think it depends on how heavy the smoker is and how hot it gets, I did mark the stainless steel top with a hot pan from the BBQ, it took ages to clean off. Once again thanks for your comment.
Could you remove one of the handles either side and would that allow a second unit to fit snuggly next to it, Thinking of either having two units next to each other or unit bbq an then unit…however feel the handles will obstruct a flush fit so hope they can be removed/not attached on one side of the unit so to sit flush against a second unit or bbq?
Hi Andrew, its been some time since I assembled it, as far as I can remember they can. My son has just purchased the double one with a sink, I don't know how the two units are held together but I could see there were two separate work tops. I just love this cabinet. Can't wait to use it. We purchased it at Sam's Club. My question is....can you glue the plastic ends over the corners of the stainless steel corners for safety issues? If so, what kind of glue would you recommend using? Thank you, Darlene
Hi Lance, thanks for your comment, I use my Unity XL for preperation only, once I did place a hot pan from the grill on it which left a mark on the stainless steel, it took months to remove. In my opinion it would be risky to use it as a stand for a grill. As far as I'm aware it's designed to be used as a prep table, or an outdoor bar. Hi there, in answer to your question, it is one big space, however there is a support strut behind where the doors close, I have storage boxes on the one side of mine which have to go in lengthways and swivel round as they go in, the rest of my kit goes in the other side in an untidy manner. Thanks for your video. We were considering buying one and it’s reassuring to see it and hear your assessment. We want to buy a cover at the same time as see a 52” one which is recommended for this model. Will that size fit, with the spice rack and towel holder fitted?
Hi Pam, Glad you liked my video, I got a cover for my Unity XL, from Amazon, I can't remember the brand however it did say it was for the Unity XL, it fits quite well, a little oversize if anything, it has two loops with clips that go round the feet to stop it blowing away in high winds. Hi Pam, Was just about to turn my computer off, anyway once its all assembled the spice rack, utensil bar, and kitchen towel holder, are, far as I can see, all permanent fixtures. Cheers.
The approximate internal dimensions of the Unity XL are, Width 41inches, Depth 15 inches, Height 20inches. The door opening dimensions are, 15 inches Wide, by 16 inches High. These measurements are approximate as the unit is quite full of stuff, if anything they are on the conservative side and actual measurement could a half an inch more. Hi Paul you might just do it providing the height is no more than 18ins I’ve just tried it and there’s half an inch to spare, plenty of room on the width, assuming all units are standard.
