This was a phenomenal episode. Chickie's life was like a core sample of the philly mob. His life took him from it taking shape, all the way up to present day. His kids all shaped that family, for better or worse. It's hard not to feel bad for him based on what happened, but man what a life.

Alright chaps loyal listener from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿. Just wanted to let you know that the rapid content output is much appreciate it. It’s relaxing. Some mob tube channels end up get a bit whiney or bitshy and yours remains calm with details great content. Keep up the good work, thanks!

Dunno if it’s common knowledge in America but the term “the chaps” meant London gangsters in the 60’s and 70’s, sometimes now, originating from either The East End of London or South London. These areas produced a high volume of heavyweight gangsters traditionally. Nice one fellas.

I've been fascinated with the Philadelphia Family for most of my life.
Being from Bucks County, I was constantly hearing about the hits and politics of all these guys.
The Philadelphia mafia is still alive and well.
For sure, their power and reach has shrunk, but trust and believe those guys are still doing their thing!
This was excellent and I enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for your work into this.

Love the Ciancaglini family! Probably one of the most interesting mob families ever. There needs to be a book and movie about Chickie and his boys. Mikey Chang was a tough dude. Married young raising a family and is trying to take over the mob. And then it all ends. Tragic!

Scott, I LOVED your book on Phil. I LOVE your podcast it's really really good. Being a student of this genre since I unknowingly met John Veasy though a mutual Friend. It's just the Bruno Family. Adding Scarfos name just brings down the level of respect to the family as a whole. But ,hey that's just my opinion. Keep up the great work 👍🏻

Great show. You guys always report in a respectful, accurate manor. Like you said you're not glorifying but giving credit where it's due that within this way of life this guy lived it the right way and when viewed through that lense deserves some recognition for the way he carried himself as well as his longevity and the respect he holds among those from his time back "in the day" forward into the next Era amongst the neighborhood kids who are now the players and leaders of this generation. I'm sure the " young turks" owe at least some of their success to having a role model within the life like Chickee. As unorthodox as this group has been I'm sure that Chickie's ways will have more influence on them as they age. Let's face it, they didn't exactly have a lot of great role models to teach them the proper ways along the way.

A couple clarifications, Mikey Chang believed that his brother Joey was the wheelman who he swore he saw pointing him out to the 2 shooters seconds before they jumped out and started chasing him. #2 is Mikey Chang was not a shooter on his brothers attempted murder in Mach 1993, and the reason thats known is because Tommy Scafidi who was a backup shooter on that hit, testified that the next morning after the shooting, Joey Merlino came to him and said "Michael's pissed, we had to make up a story" referring to the fact that Joey Chang had survived and that Mikey Chang was pissed off over it, well if Mikey Chang was a shooter on the hit than he wouldnt have to ask what happened cause he would already know cause he was there, so that disputes the notion that was he was a shooter on his brothers hit. As far as what were Joey Chang's injuries from the shooting, he was shot 5 times in the temple, cheek, shoulder, leg & foot, leaving him deaf in one ear and blind in one eye

With jimmy I does it matter if he only cooperated(if true) in the 60s and 70s? This is a guy who had other people wacked for less. Snitching is snitching, it doesn't matter if you do it once or 100 times, if it's "only on non italians." You get no respect in my book. When I was running around in the street there was plenty of stuff I didn't do because I wasn't prepared to spend the rest of my life in prison. I didn't put myself in a situation where I had to snitch cause I couldn't do that much time.

How do You go from being I guess an Associate ....to being a Made Member and then within a couple of months to being elevated to UnderBoss🧐💯
What happen to being a Soldier for a while then Acting Capo to Official Capo then onto part of the Administration 🤔💯🤷
It's like with what happen with Michael Mancuso....how do You show or prove that you even have Leadership skills becuz when it comes to Mikey the Nose 👃 Mancuso is quite the opposite....He's gotta be the worse Boss ever and that says alot cuz You have the likes of John Stanfa...Nicky Scarfo,Vittorio Amuso, John J. Gotti,Peter Gotti and John A.Gotti....thats how some feel about The Gotti's which I have a way different opinion about Sr and Jr .....not so much when talking about Peter Gotti🤷💯
