Hey Justin, Another great video. Thanks for all the kind words. The "Tank" is the result of a couple incidents that caused slight damages to some boards during shipment. You can imagine the dissapointment after waiting for your prized board and seeing it is damaged, no matter how small, when you unwrap it. So, we had to make sure the box would stand any challenge during shipment. The Tank is a testiment to our perpetual desire to improve...
Thank you, Mete! You and the team at FMGammon are taking backgammon board production to another level. This is a gorgeous compact board, and I'm super impressed with the Mag-Fit technology and how easy it is to make the board feel different at a moment's notice with beautiful checkers and new inlays. Kudos!
class board, I have all 4 inlays and I would say don't buy the orange one (Jupiter) because the orange checkers on the orange inlay looks almost camouflaged and it just doesn't work. The best is the Earth and the Blue Neptune insert in my opinion. Definitely worth ordering the Neptune Blue inlay and Blue checkers.
Josh, thanks for the comment. I think you're right about the Jupiter inlays; I'm not a big fan of orange, either. I may end up getting the Neptune inlays, as I already own blue and white checkers from a previous board. Cheers!
I bought the exact same set up a couple months ago I think there were a couple flaws I saw on mine overall a great board but wish for the price it was perfect. Moon inserts are the best I think didn’t like the orange but wish there was a red set up I think that would have been nice.
Andy - It’s a really nice setup with the Moon inserts. That’s what I’m likely going to play when I head to Denver this month for my first tournament. No flaws in my board, thankfully. Glad you enjoy yours! ✊🏼✨
Another very nice board, and I do see that the carry bag now appears to be included with purchase of the board, which I think is a nice and necessary addition. The packaging is pretty amazing, and it looks like it takes some effort to get through it! Hope you're enjoying this board, though you have so many other boards, I don't know how you pick and choose which board to play on at any given time.
Dr. Fly, that is an interesting point about board choice. I just go with what feels good, and that tends to result in using certain boards more often than others. I use my Earth board often, as well as my Talat board. I use my Gammoner less, because it's a limited edition board, and I'd like to keep it pristine. I use my FTH board a lot, too, because the felt is so lovely, and I really like the checkers, too. I use my Crisloid less than I thought I would, but it is a pretty unique playing surface that I'd also like to keep in good shape. I just go with 'what feels good.' Cheers!
Nice review on a beautiful board. I was just going to ask the price, I guessed a thou. I'm waiting to get my first good board in years, a Crisold which I believe will be shipped in another month, it's been two months already waiting. Good luck in Denver.

Hi Justin Realy like your video. I play backgammon over a decade now and think of getting a nice board. Is there big difference in build and quality betwen the Talat and the Earth board. There are plenty of beautifull board between galaxy and fmgammon, even both are fm boards. It's difficult to choose.
Hi, Olivier! Thanks for your question. As you can see in this video, there is a significant size difference between the Earth board and the FM Talat board when I compare them in size. The Earth board is more compact, by a large margin, but it’s also very nice to play on even as a smaller format board. The Talat is a huge tournament-size board, so it’s going to be bigger and heavier. Both are really well built, and both can be customized with surfaces and checkers of your choosing. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions, cheers! 🎲🎲👏🏼💭
Excellent choice! I saw one recently at the Texas Backgammon Championships in San Antonio and it looks really well built with a redesigned satchel for the checkers, cups, cube, etc. 👏🏼🎲🎲
Hi Justin Great video and pushed me over the edge to finally order! Out of interest are those dice the ones that came with it? Do you happen to know the size of them? I actually really like that contrasting red on such an earthy coloured board Thanks
Jack, I don't recall if the dice I play with on this board came with it or not; I don't think so. I believe they are 14mm precision dice, and they work very well on this more compact set up. Cheers! I hope you enjoy your Earth board as much as I enjoy mine!
Another wonderful unboxing and review Justin. I really like both muted color combinations. Are both surfaces included, along with the extra set of checkers? Also - only one pair of dice? Good luck in Denver!
Hi, Greg! Thanks for the kind words. I asked for the Moon inserts specifically, and the black checkers were included with those surfaces. I believe the various different surfaces are available with or without the complementary checkers. I really like the color grey so the Moon surfaces were an easy choice with the marbled black checkers.
Hey, really nice board! But for beginners definitely not possible to justify. Do you have recommendations for board up to 250$? I saw Crisloid but until the board has arrived in europe the price will be doubled from 250$ because of shipping, taxes and customs…
Interesting question! $250 is an interesting price point, because larger boards tend to cost more than $250. If you’re in Europe, I don’t know if you can purchase a board from GammonVillage in the USA. If you can, without paying a fortune in shipping, I recommend the 21” (53 cms) board from Wycliffe Bros. They cost US$265 and are a very nice board for the price. Yes, a Crisloid would be nice, but they can get expensive quick, especially if shipping is costly. Good luck, a nice backgammon board is a really wonderful thing to splurge on at least once! 👍🏼✨🎲🎲
Thanks for your quick reply! I think there might be the same problem since they ship from the US, too. But at least it seems to be the case that they ship for free. I might have a look on it. Thanks and keep up the nice reviews/unboxings 😊

@@jmc1780 Sure. This is always the problem. But as I know myself I tend to loose interest in some things sometimes. So spending 1000$ and then realizing I don’t play a lot would be sad.
