If poles go in the same carrier bag differs from tent to tent. In regards to the Montana 6P the poles are in a separate pole bag - you can see that under specifications on our website: www.outwell.com/en/Products/tents/premium-tent-collection/montana-6p

You can do it both ways - just ensure that the doors are open so that air can leave the tent.
