I have loved this lp from the first time I heard it. So many wonderful notes and a wonderful good vibe. No wonder the world is clueless. This stuff was just to good for commercialism to get a grasp on it.
this lp and new rags were alternated on my turntable for ever,,,still dig this stuff, dark brooding and deeply moving,,bowie was a marvel of inventive phrases and turns not to mention dejohnette, abercrombie and gomez just killin it,,,the main thing to me was the empathy they shared for each other, very powerful,it just doesn`t happen over night ,,always wondered who the heck was wayne.
+mark kimbrell I read an interview of Jack saying he was thinking about Wayne Shorter when he came up with the title but he's also playing with words because there's a jazz standard called "Where or when".

I always like to think it's Wayne Shorter... I think that's logical because of the pieces Modality and Beautiful Melodic twists and turns.
excelent
RIP John Abercrombie :'(
Only 46 people listened to this great track. I wonder why.
John Abercrombie R.I.P. !!
Wayne Left Town
Dig Lester’s threads. Eddie & Jack not far behind. John holds it down with the trad.
