    I actually did this for my metru builds years ago. At the time I thought it was a breakthrough, then I saw other mocs online already incorporating it. A useful tutorial no less.

    I do the same. But i left in the gear function and added a second gear for friction to the back. I also make the legs use the piraka/inika thighs, which look more in proportion.

    Thanks for the great fix, I went ahead and used it on my own Toa Lhikan.

    This is incredibly useful, thanks. I'd done this to Metru builds many years ago if only I had enough ball pieces. You also can leave gears untouched and get free movement AND gear function. Best from both worlds.

      If you're going to leave the gear function intact, though, I'd recommend using the technique the canonized Bomunga figure uses with his gear function

    Adding articulation, filling in the armpit gap, and using a few relatively common pieces, nice!
    My only recommendation is try to keep the color scheme of the rest of the set, such crimson red hand pieces for Vakama, Lhikan, and Norik.

      @TanikaNuva  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I wanted to use the dark red ones but I didn't have any on hand when making this video. Thanks for commenting!

    Do you have a parts list for what I need to get? I found a toa onewa at a good will for two bucks and want to do this mod to make him a little more posable.

    • @TanikaNuva

      All you need are 2 hand pieces, 2 3-long axles with stops, 2 ball joints, and 2 regular red axles.

    I actually did this once, but after doing so, I felt it made their stature too wide.
    Or at least, _something_ felt off with it, so I ultimately tried other methods.

    • @TanikaNuva
      @TanikaNuva  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes it does make them look bulky.
      I use this method primarily for stop motion but always have them displayed normally because it does look better that way.

      Sorry I don’t know the numbers but the names of the parts are: 2 Bionicle hand pieces, 2 3-long axles with stops, 2 ball joints, and 2 regular red axles. If you put those names into bricklink they should come up.
