    Best piano narrator EVER.

    Two questions: Is there much noticeable difference between the 706 and the feedback touch of the 708? Do the 8 speakers sound that much better on the 708 than the 6 on the 706?

      @RivertonPianoCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, David, and thanks for watching. Yes. The 708's extra audio channel and two speakers makes a huge difference in the piano's sound. Combine that with the haptic feedback mechanism and the 708 is incredible to play. We are sold out right now and - when we get some in - we sell them quickly. It's a surprisingly beautiful piano to play - far moreso than the other LX pianos. It really is the best piano Roland makes (right up there with the GP-609).

      I have played on Both and yes there is a big difference, one of the reasons as well is the 708 does not divide the cabinet in two with the key cover that slides in like on the 706

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Great point, Bastiaan! True. The 708 is a one-piece cabinet with slow-close fallboard - just like a traditional upright piano. Roland won a Red Dot design award for that cabinet and we can see why!

  • @Murmur2k

    Is it possible to make the piano sound like an upright piano with the customisation features?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course. You can make it sound like anything you want. ...but the 708 does have a sampled "upright piano" patch onboard as well... so you don't have to customize an upright sound if you don't want to.

    Thanks for the video! What was the down-weight of middle C when you used your piano weights, please? I am very "particular" on how my pianos are regulated.

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi, Robert! Thanks for watching. We're glad you enjoyed them! The down-weights we measured are right around 55 grams - same the grand pianos in our store. I know Steinway often weights a bit heavier, but we prefer the more standard weighting. Hope that helps!

    Hi! Is this digital piano suitable for classical music?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, Florin! Thanks for your question. Yes. This is an excellent piano for classical music. Professional players use Roland digital pianos for all genres. It's been on stage at Carnegie Hall and Russian Classical Pianist, Yana Reznik, has performed on all kinds of Roland pianos. She even recorded an entire album on one! The LX-708 is Roland's flagship technology. I can't think of a better digital piano for classical music. Give it a try!

    Three years now that LX708 is thee. When is expected its successor?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You never know. Pianos aren't like cars. They don't put out a new model every year. Roland will only release a new model when the 708's technology starts to feel dated. ...and the 708 is still the most advanced digital piano in the world. No other model has a full-sized, one-piece cabinet design with 3D surround system, lid activated speakers, grand-piano-length keys and haptic feedback. In short, they don't *need* to replace this piano yet as the rest of the industry is still tailing behind pretty dramatically. Also, COVID demand pushed new model development back at most major manufacturers for at least a few years because they didn't have enough resources to meet the current demand - let alone stop production to begin making new models. That said, Roland is always thinking ahead and they may have new models in development... but they won't come out in 2022 and I suspect it will be at least another year or more before they do.

      Thanks. I have almost only excellent review of this lx708. Except for this one here azpianonews.blogspot.com/2019/10/review-roland-hp702-704-lx705-706-708-gp607-609-digital-piano.html?m=1

      @RivertonPianoCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, AZ Piano Reviews is right here in Phoenix. It's run by one guy named Tim Praskins and I would encourage you to take everything he says with a grain of salt. Roland has repeatedly sent him cease and desist letters because of his unauthorized use of Roland photos, inaccurate specs and pricing and overall misrepresentation of who/what he is. The truth about Tim is that he is a piano salesman. He sells Casio, Samick and other low-end brands... so he spends a ton of time trying to convince people Roland pianos are no good so he can sell them something else. You should have seen how different his reviews for Roland were when he was able to sell them. :)

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ...at least we're honest about who we are and where we come from. We wouldn't carry the pianos if they weren't fantastic because - unlike Tim - we're a large and award-winning Roland dealership.

    What kind of headphones come with the Roland lx 708?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, Emme. If you're in the United States, you'll likely either get a set of Roland RH-A7 headphones for digital pianos or a set of V-Moda Headphones.

    Is it possible to cover the control panel?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, yeo bin! Yes, you can cover the control panel with the slow-close fallboard. It's not the "slide over" key cover the other models have. It's more like the grand piano style.

      I am not sure how you'd play any piano with the cover closed... certainly not this one. :)

      I agree that would be a nice feature to remove distractions and try to keep more to the classic acoustic look.

    so disappointing that you make the LX-708 appear to be a "Current" Piano when it is a discontinued Model in 2024. It seems disingenuous to try to make it seem "Current" by way of the Video Title. When you do crap like this, how or why should we even trust Riverton Piano as being consumer focused?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I guess you could look at our 5-star reviews. You could check our other TH-cam videos (including the one we did comparing the new Roland models and the one we did on the LX-9). You could read our "Road to Piano Reality" blog or check our social media posts where we clearly explain the LX-9 has replaced the LX708... or you could check out our ads where we offer a special price on the LX708s we still have left in inventory because they are discontinued. You're making a snap judgement on a video we created in 2019. Take a broader look and you'll clearly see we know our stuff. If you have any other questions, you're welcome to contact us via webchat and we're happy to address any other concerns you might have.

      @@RivertonPianoCompany generally speaking, your videos and Blog content are both very good, but putting 2024 in the title about a product that is not current (it has been replaced and you know it), is dishonest. You shouldn't be relying on false clicks because of misleading content titles. how can you defend this action? Why are you putting 2024 on this video? for what valid purpose?

    • @RivertonPianoCompany
      @RivertonPianoCompany  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand you don't like the "2024" in the title, but there it will remain until we sell out of these pianos. As I mentioned in my previous response to your rather aggressive comment, we are quite clear in other videos, blog posts, our website, etc. about the succession of Roland models. This is not "deception" as you claim. The date indicates that these pianos are still available in 2024 as new, unsold product. When we sell out of them, we indicate they are discontinued and gone (like we did with the LX705). That is our system and it makes perfect sense to folks who are seriously shopping for pianos with us. As you can see, we are very upfront about the process and about how we choose to do things. You don't have to like it, but that is how we conduct our business... and judging by our reviews and the fact that we have been Roland's "Dealer of the Year" for years now, I think it works well.
