I remember trying to tell some of my English friends about William Wallace, one of them thought he was a modern day actor... I'm so thankful for Horrible Histories
I named my chicken William Wallace. Bravest little chicken around. A few years back when he was just a little chick, he fell and broke his leg. We thought he was going to die, we did everything we could, I attatched a splint to his leg and brought him into my room because he couldn't move around to feed. He's made a full recovery now, got a bit of a limp but grown into a beautiful cockeral.
I love these Horrible History Shows.... I'm 48!! If this was our History classes.. I woulda known way more about History today!! I'm still learning now
My favourite line is at around 1:00 “William Wallace Scottish rebel, possibly 6 foot 7 But at that really matters is I sent English men to heaven.” It’s just that line - “possibly 6 foot 7” It totally cracks me up every time I hear it. Very clever lyrics indeed. Thanks for sharing this video, much appreciated 🙂🐿
Tara Louise Is it inaccurate? Is it really all that inaccurate, or is it just minor details? I mean these songs aren't exactly text books but if I quote this what might I say that's wrong. For example the Suffragette's song suggests women were given the vote after working during World War 1, but actually it was only married women over 30 who's husbands owned land and the government only did this because most of the men fighting in the war couldn't vote either, so they couldn't very well give men the vote and then not the women. So the inaccuracy there is the governments attitude and how much right women actually won; but in passing conversation it's enough to say 'Women got the vote after WW1" (though now I'd say 'many women got the vote after WW1'). Is that the level of accuracy we're talking about or is it something more glaring.
I think this is quite funny and I'm happy that an English program is teaching about the losses of the English as well. They better have mentioned Bannockburn though.
This song is fantastic. Would love to see one about Australia, there's plenty of topics: First Fleet, killing the Aboriginies, Bush Rangers, Ned Kelly, Eureka Stockade, Gallipolli etc.
I never really knew all that much about William Wallace other than he was Scottish, a rebel and hated the English but now I am quite interested in learning more but it seems that all that is 'known' about him is conjecture and very little real facts. Anyway, I love the Scotts and bagpipes.
This is even funnier when I put this in context of my history education in a scottish school. Honestly if they just played this in first year history in scottish schools it would save a lot of bother.
@baconandcrisps its only a rumour at the moment but they are defiantly talking of doin another prom and CD. The BBC will be able to fund it. i would definatly go to the live tour though! Im 21 and my fiance is 24 and we both love it! I was so happy when bob hale came out at the prom!
@TulipChops hell yeah! i watch it everyday!, once watched 8 hours non stop. had a bad head ach after that#1 and the songs buzzing in my head all nigh -_-
Ben looks incredibly macho (and hot), Simon looks like a wild bear of a man, Mat totally rocks out, Larry does his sexy *make love to the camera with my eyes* thing at 1:50, Jim's sneer and hair are priceless, and lots of bare chests! It doesn't get any better than this!
@Monksbain Bagpipes sound lovely! I never watched Braveheart, Hollywood has a way of bending the truth in order to make something or someone more interesting.
@87caseygirl you go scot girl!!!!- im aussie of english irish and welsh decent but i wish i was of scottish decent coz i effing LOVE the scottish!! cant wait to visit scotland!!!
It's a series of kids books which was turned into a sketch show. Some of the sketches are songs and they have had a concert, but they're not a band. Hope this helped :)
If Scotland become independent this better be the national anthem.
Yas come on son, maybe no the national anthem maybe at Scotland games haha
That would be cool I'm scottish
I am too young to vote :( but at least I have faith and my heart lives in Scotland!

SAME
Zaima & Zaara
Same. Learnt more from this show than I have at school too
@@me-dc8pjHorrible histories gives you ALL sides of the story, wheras the history channel and school books only have one side of the story.
Cause this is for kids and your slow?
"Pulled my guts out, guess he didn't like me much!" *smiles* LOL
Love that part!
I love the look on Ben's face when he says, "Guess he didn't like me much." Understatement of the millennia!
If Wallace really sang this then I would follow him in a heartbeat.
Same. This is one of my personal favourites
JonathanToolonie

As a Scot, I love this song. Best Scottish accent from an English actor EVER doesn't hurt much either.
"POSSIBILY 6 FOOT SEVEN!" Love it
Imagining learning the words to Flower of Scotland when you can learn the words to William Wallace Scottish Rebel
"Bridge collapsed, hundreds drowned - OF COURSE I KILLED THE REST!" - bloody good line, hahah.
I remember trying to tell some of my English friends about William Wallace, one of them thought he was a modern day actor... I'm so thankful for Horrible Histories

Playing axes (lol), swords and other weapons as musical instruments is one of my favourite reoccuring bits in horrible histories

I am from Pakistan.. and I really respect Sir William Wallace for the struggle of freedom for his country fellows..
Pure awesomeness, still can't believe something as fab as Horrible Histories exists nowadays.
This should of been what they sung when it was the Scottish wars of independence was happening (when Wallace was battling)
if i had a time machine i'd go back in time and tell wallace to sing this.
"The important thing is, I sent Englishmen to... HEAVEN!" xD
yeh that's wrong
Just discovered Horrible Histories, and I'm HOOKED! Thank you!
I look exactly like the guy singing this, is he my long lost brother?
Lucky you!
maybe
Wow, if you could shave of the beard, could I marry you please (as I'll never get to marry Ben Willbond)?
" Celebrated Stirling Bridge, another Scottish win; by decorating my sword with the English General's *skin* " is so metal. I love that line 😂
"Possibly six foot seven" cracks me up every time.
I think Ben Willbond (William Wallace) is so handsome. I love this song; one of the best on HH, imo.
Dear Diary: I HATE THIS GUY!

I watched Braveheart last night and kept humming this song. After a hour my brother in law demanded I leave the room :) lol
Yeah, would you kindly tell me what song it actually is?
It's been bugging me ever since I first heard it.
This was the whole pyrotechnics budget for the season
This is even funnier when I put this in context of my history education in a scottish school. Honestly if they just played this in first year history in scottish schools it would save a lot of bother.

2:24 some one in the background is smilling ( in a creepy way )
According to Wikipedia, it's a pastiche of 'Rebel Yell' by Billy Idol. Can't say I've ever heard it though
