I imagine seeing more like a page out of the movie Idiocracy. People will be so lazy that the Optimus will spend a large amount of time just following them around and cleaning up the trail of crumbs, trash and human excrement left behind as the humans go through their day eating snacks, pleasuring themselves, doing drugs, doom scrolling and playing video games.
And that is the goal ! The more I’m not needed for these tasks the more time I have for my life (first of all I will have the energy for exercising, family, dating, friends, passions, hobbies, etc. I get it though that will take a change of the paradigm is the beginning of the end of the industrial age.
OK, but Musk's instinct is to utilize *private* companies. We can only benefit by purchasing shares in a publicly traded company. I bought TSLA in 2019, and I'm so glad I did. Tesla is the only Musk company where that is possible
people often assume that because the robot looks human, it will behave like a human as far as doing tasks. I've never seen a humanoid robot even do a simple task that a person would not want to do.
Most people who steal for a living aren't smart enough to disable anti theft controls made by companies like Apple. For example, if you steal a new Apple device from a store, it basically gives your location information to authorities and won't work for you. So tech is naturally already decent at preventing theft
I am shunned at work for talking about Tesla and the future. But people rush to me when tesla stock spikes, and they say "why didn't you tell me?". Thankfully, Elon has made me a millionaire, so I just smile.
@@BongoWongoOG well I know multiple engineers and techs who worked at Tesla and now work there and they just delivered robots to the US BMW plant, so just made their first revenue. Not sure how Nikola is doing, but I have interviewed candidates from there.
I'm predicting that Optimus will be the same price and the same utilitarian spot as a smart phone today, December 18th 2024..Look for it in your Robot Store in 2030... you have no idea what's coming... and I'm talking to the person reading this...
I'm 24 and I've been debating about buying a house next year. I can afford a sizable down payment $35K-40K (I've been looking in the $165K-$200K range, good for my area.) but the thing that I'm debating is I could save that and end up buy a Robo-taxi and an Optimus or multiple of each don't know yet and end up making passive income with that. What are other people's opinions please leave a reply.
If you buy first Gen you are screwed. I don't trust grifter man but you do you, maybe they will actually make a viable product at some point but I wouldn't want to buy the first round.
I don't know. I'm in favor of Optimus, but knowing the mankind, we will find sooner or later heaps of reasons to hate it. It will lead to jate against anyone making these robots, and we don't even have to analyze the validity of individual reasons for doing so. I think the worst will be the ownership of so much wealth by one person. That is usually enough for some deep hatred even without any rational reason. But the thing is, if it is not Elon, it will be other moguls with far more sinister motives. I even think that as far as it it Elon who leads the charge/the revolution, we are somehow protected until the moment when others will get to the forefront. There is no escape from ourselves.
When OPTIMUS runs your house.. you basically won't need a wifey that happily do these chores for you.. It wud be boring without your wifey.. When your OPTIMUS do things for you at work, it would be boring when your OPTIMUS simply does the job chores for you... Seems a future of humans just relaxing all day while OPTIMUS does all the daily chores.. You will soon be humans that no longer have ambitions coz OPTIMUS will just do everything for you... Life wud just be really boring... Coz there's really no challenge in life knowing OPTIMUS does things better & typically learns how to do chores better & better making your job skills redundant...
Living like the ancient Romans, hopefully with the slaves wanting their freedom. Wealth will be determined by how many robots you own. Or maybe the government will own all the robots and will pay each citizen a “living wage” whatever that will be.
I am just so skeptical of this being soon and working as good as you say right away. I know people were controlling at the event and I am not sure they weren't for that walk....the slip is hard to do remote though.
Then do not invest, ignore it. Look away and concentrate on all other things in your life. You do not have to see what the bots do or do not do. Just as you do not have to use FSD or KI or buy from Amazon. I have many customers who buy from me because thewy do not have a debit or credit card. Some even do not use the Internet. Many are afraid of it. It is my job and part of my income helpoing those people come along. And i will be the first Bot owner at least in my community. Just as i was the first Tesla owner in my whole state. Just as i was the First Corporate and Private Compuserve and Internet User at least as far as i know.
@@digitalbladeca Tesla could sell the closed loop experience walking and balancing in VR. Better than Meta or Google. I guess they have a full body VR experience suit. We'll see it next year on the shelves of Radio Shack & Co. It is called Model Q.
Yes, humanoid robots, and AI computers, will replace millions and millions of jobs done by humans today, but, human population decline has already begun, which helps in filling those positions, and fighting against technology, is pointless. Virtually nobody will buy a robot for personal use but businesses DEFINITELY will, as very few can justify paying $30k+ for a machine to vacuum your floors and mow your lawn, especially when we already have Rumba's and robot lawn mowers, for MUCH cheaper.
I promise you they’re gonna screw you on AI and the robots if they don’t outright terminate you. Just like they sell cheap hardware and it’s the software that is the problem along with the maintenance when things are designed to break. No one’s gonna sit here and develop a robot that’s robust and can easily have replaceable parts. Then they’re gonna charge you huge amount of money for the software for the robot to actually do tasks. Open source hardware and software that is standardized is the real solution.
You’re gonna pay huge software subscriptions because they are already charging $2000 a month for AI to businesses and you absolutely know it will cost a robot arm and leg to replace an arm : )
How many times have I watched companies do this in 61 years? I am a retired Air Force maintenance technician who has always been interested in computers and technology. Every single time. Look what openAI is doing going from open source to close sources. Google has completely went off the reservation from what they said they were going to be. You’re going to pay a huge price in multiple ways along with the fact that you’re just gonna get heavier and no less. You’ll be a big giant full of Jell-O sitting there without any knowledge.
If you want to invest in something disruptive I suggest you wait for the company that selling recliners that have a hole in the bottom and a giant kitty litter box that the robot changes because you’re too heavy to move
My Optimus will just secretly dig tunnels and rooms under my house all night when everyone is sleeping. Id like a free underground system of rooms.
Smart. Taxes won't go up then.
It's best not to become a lazy human when we have Optimus but to become more active because now we have more time to workout and eat healthy 💪
Optimus can also be your personal trainer.
Been seeing this for decades and was just waiting for which company was going to be first and or most practical.
Tesla started Optimus 2 years ago with Bumble Bee. The speed by Tesla is unbelievable.

Meh, you could just make another one. Stealing will eventually be silly.

I have to look for it again, but someone said that the Optimus team said it was walking around on the mulch while also being blind on purpose
.
Yes, Optimus was only using sensors, not pixels. Camera data was not being used at all. Amazing stuff
Hey i think about Optimus future all the time. Why I'm here in your space.
It has to get down to $10,000 USD to be affordable for a middle-class family.
Yall should be following Figure as well. They just delivered robots to BMW factory, many Tesla alum there.
There's room for everyone here. The difference is Tesla's incredible production capability. What has Figure mass produced?
@@billweberx The difference is way more than production, it is what is produced and for how much.
