@Anthony Cunningham maybe something that has thick protective layers but an open back, good to protect hands but no point if they're gonna get super sweaty
@Andy Venual I feel like part of the problem is grip, those are designed to slide, however if he has a cobbler near him, he may be able to get them to glue shoe rubber to his gloves, or maybe he could ask a bike shop for some old tyres and attach those with shoe goo.

I'm glad you started out with the gloves. I go through gloves pretty fast and you probably have more experience with them than anybody. I appreciate the info!
It might be an idea to reach out to a shoe company or someone that deals in shoes, see if there is a way to combine gloves with a more durable shoe material. Or even something like a Kevlar or blend.
You could try some of the DIY paint on rubber sole kits around too. They are all basically different variations of shredded rubber tires mixed with some kind of barge cement or rubber cement. Here's one: th-cam.com/video/UzDFbvdIP7E/w-d-xo.html. I don't know if it would work well on gloves or not but it's an idea.
Another idea is to find a shoe repair shop or a shoemaking school and ask if they have any ideas. They might not know what to do with a surface that isn't totally rigid, but who knows, they might have ideas.
God bless you 😁 I remember seeing you on special books by special kids for the first time and now I just found you on your own channel it is very nice to meet you🤗 you are a very cool guy😉
I feel like you would be perfectly suited for living in a van or camper. The most annoying thing (besides parking lol) I dealt with when van traveling was never being able to stand up straight. Most van builds, when they have a kitchen, are at the height of your counter. You should check out Jannelle Eliana!

Rowdy! You seem soooooo nice and I understand how you feel. I have Autism, ADHD, OCD, and emotional stress every single day but even though we have very different sturggles, I understand.
Thanks for sharing your life on TH-cam! My daughter-in-law is a massage therapist and I imagine she would think it would be great for you to have some body work done on a regular basis, just to loosen up your joints. And I wonder if you could have a board modified to get you around the house part of the time just to give your arms a little break! Also looking into a anti-inflammation diet might not be a bad idea. Just to keep you moving the way you do!
Sorry, I thought I replied to this! I did read it because you actually gave me the idea to try the anti-inflamatorry diet! I've been on it or a few days now and I will put out a video on how its going after I've tried for a month or so. I've only had a little bit of massage work done, not enough to know if it helps.
Watching this made me think the entire time that you would find liquid skin useful. Also, have you ever considered making custom made foam 'shoes' for your nubs? It's be easier than you think and protect them well. Id say put em underneath your socks. That is, if you have any trouble with blisters, chafing or sore spots. I could come up with a way you and your girlfriend could make em, or even make them if you sent me measurements but you'd have an easier time with being right there to be able to work em over and over til they were just right. I'm thinking a Velcro elastic strap to get them perfectly fitted. Possibly a cut and stretched pool noodle for the bases.
Hey Rowdy you might look up a sock company by the name of Also. They have a two sock system called the double impact. It's super cushy. Plus their other socks are pretty sweet too.
Rowdy I think a sling style bag would be helpful to you. They are easy to use only need to put one arm through and you only have to pull the strap and it swings around to your chest for easy access to what you need.
Look into longboard sliding gloves to use while on your boosted board. they have plastic pads designed to scrape away instead of ruining your nice snap on gloves.
You rock MAn.. being your friend it has to be awesome.. for your good attitude your mood and your tranquillity .... Big high five from me... did you tried stiching or glueing some hard leather strips on your gloves?
You mentioned thermoses etc. Have you checked out Contigo thermoses and water bottles? These thermoses you can drink out of, just pressing a button on the go, no need to twist open and pouring into a cup. Also it has a lock button, so it doesn’t spill in your backpack/rucksack/bookbag.
Hey man try longboard gloves, they have replaceable plastic pads that you could use as a sole. Longboarders use them to slide on the concrete so they are really made to be used as you do, with the hands touching the ground. Keep up with your great videos!
Hey Rowdy! You are amazing! I really enjoy your videos.... But I wanted to ask you about your arms... Your lower arms look like they are much more developed... But I wanted to ask if they give you any pain... They seem to be bent out... I was just curious... I'm hoping that your arms will hold up for a long time... But I know they take the stress of all your movement... Please keep letting us share your life with you... I love your sense of humor ...You rock!!
kpatros1209 Thanks!, much appreciated. To answer your question, I occasionally have issues and I wear out much quicker than I did in my youth. My elbows won’t hold up forever and I’m currently looking into options for future joint issues, but for now just using things like my boosted board to get around more efficiently and put less strain on my joints
That is good to know.... I'm going to keep praying that you find new and better ways to get around... And that you don't have any health issues... Thanks again for letting us be part of your life!
I used to be a skater and I can tell you how to make gloves last longer. Cover the whole contact area with the shoe goo. This is the most important part so listen up. Put them on first and then goo one at a time up thick. Then put your weight down on a piece of news paper. This makes the goo conform to your body. Then carefully slip them off one at a time and let them dry. The news paper can be ripped off after and it doesn't take long to wear the stuck paper off. This method works on holes as well. Try it and tell me what you think. Walking on them while wet keeps them from forming lumps which are uncomfortable as all heck. P.S. A good quality light weight Thermos will solve your spill issues in your back pack as you already know. Love your vids Rowdy. They give me inspiration and hope. Also was wondering if you have ever played any chair sports. ??? Did you like it? Hey also ware a skate helmet on those boards but. Your head is the most important thing you own. You should put a retractable lanyard on your controller and put it to you somewhere so if you fall of you can let go and not smash the crap out of it and use your hands to protect yourself. Food for thought from a former avid x games dude.
When it comes to your gloves have you ever thought of taking your good pair of gloves to a cobbler or a shoe repairman they might be able to put some type of rubberized quote-unquote😜 sole cut to fit on the palms of your gloves I don't even know if that's feasible it just seems like the most logical solution to the problem let me know if it works I'm binge-watching your videos and Lovin every minute of it Keep On Keepin On bud
Great video! Really enjoying watching your channel. In glad you've got solid protection for your nubs now! Have you looked into getting a small folding ladder to make getting in and out of things less stressful on your elbows? Potentially attaching fold out steps to the side of your car, and anywhere else you need to get up and down from? Im happy to help design something with you, I'm a student Product Designer, but I'm sure you could figure something out!
@@RowdyBurton yea, I see you're fine getting up, I'm just worried about the force on your elbows whilst descending. What is the most damaging movement you have to do, that maybe I could help design a solution for? How about a spring loaded step, that slows your fall a bit then locks, storing the potential energy so you can use it to assist you back up. Like a mechanical chair lift that isn't lame. You could adjust the spring tension depending on how fast or slow you want to ascend, descend. I thought about an electrical system but that would probably be too slow and boring.
@@brendandor Yea, you're right, it is the descent that is hardest in the elbows. That spring idea sounds really cool! I imagine it being useful in more situations than just the car.

Hmm maybe a thin flip flop cut to the shape of the glove and attached could be an idea to try 🤷 lol. If it's thin enough it could still give you access to grip and whatnot, it's somewhat anti-slip and could also protect the material from scraping the ground and give you a bit of comfort from the spongy material. Either way I love your videos :)
Alexandra Defreitas the closest thing I’ve done related to that is wear a small pair of flip flops, worked better for sand lol, in relation to grip, I can hardly grip with my gloves now, especially things like car keys, so I’m constantly taking them off, so unfortunately not much I can do about gripping
that kitchen was really interesting solution! you should cook something sometime on this channel hehe :D how much can you lift in total? you seem to lift yourself so easily and just hang out casually on one hand and that amazes me
apple pie thanks, idk, I’m a pretty basic cook haha. Idk how much I can life, I haven’t been to the gym in ages. I’ll bring a camera when I go and we’ll see how strong or weak haha I am
Hey man, have you ever thought about researching about someone that could make custom gloves for you? I think that would be neat and would be very helpful compared to just buying standard gloves, that maybe aren’t necessarily made for constant pressure and rough surfaces day to day, as well as moving around with arms that probably puts a lot of wear and tear on them.
Yea I’ve thought about it, haven’t reached out to anyone to see about anything custom made but I was thinking maybe a show company could design something perhaps. Only issue is having something durable and flexible.
@@RowdyBurton Yeah that would be a problem, a lot of durable material sacrifices flexibility, or its extremely expensive to get both at the same time so I see what you mean. Best of luck with whatever you end up with though :)

Do you think you’ll use your wheelchair more often in Denver - so that it will keep you a little bit higher off the ground, away from snow? In one of your other videos I remember seeing you use a board with a wheel in the middle of it. I’m surprised that wasn’t on your list of items that come in handy for you.
I might use a wheelchair more, I’m not sure. And my Onewheel board is kinda heavy and takes a lot out of me to ride, but it is very fun so it’s my recreational board :)
AsifItMatters I have, most I checked out still didn’t last long against concrete, but it’s been a while since I’ve looked since the snap-on gloves have served me so well lol
Maybe this has been suggested to you by a thousand people already, but have you considered glueing actual shoe sole rubber to the palms of your gloves? You can buy sheets of it at places like amazon, so you can cut it any way you like. That way you can make a multi-part glove sole so you can still move your fingers while wearing them.
Hey man! Have you thought about flat bottom back packs so when you set it down, you can manage it without it laying on the floor? It seems like it would be useful for ease of access, and i feel like it would feel natural depending on the height of the bag.
Can you stand on hands? Joking :D Very inspirational video. Keep it up, man. You're doing great job. The way how you get into wheelchair was so easy. Did you tried moving by unicycle and trekking poles? Are you afraid of the way how people looks at you? You can not. You're great.

Rowdy videos like these I think make people more comfortable with people with disabilitys like going to a country you never been and finding out how different from what you though ht it would be... People are the same but we see subtle differences and we blow them up into fear etc...
Rowdy if you dont mind me asking, would you say that pain/suffering builds character ? You look like ,,lay back, happy sympathetic person" would you say that it is atleast partially thanks to the difficulties you face ? You cant compare it since you was born this way, but there are people, for example, who were selfish and after they got health difficulties to deal with, it changed them (for the better, they sometimes become more nice towards others) so i think there is some truth in it. Yet i wonder if you agree with that saying. Thanks in advance in case you answer me, have a nice day :)
@@RowdyBurton Just now hearing that you mentioned it as number 1 Perk in one video, that it gave you humility and patience. I am glad that you have positive look at it and you are right, everything can be good for something :) and thank you for answering me :)
Do you ever watch people that skate? fx making tricks and stuff like that - im asking cus you are wearing santa cruz (skate brand) + you use skateboard to get around? do you like watch people skate?
Hmmm, does the bag effect your balance when walking and is that a problem? also, do you look into jackets with large pockets or hip-pouches since you don't have pant-pockets for things like your wallet and keys? Also, wouldn't it be handy if you could get a boosted board that can turn sharp corners? Idk if that is on the market tho.
No carrying a bag doesn't affect my balance. I do have pockets but they are usually small so perhaps an easy-to-wear pouch might be good, as well as a board that could turn sharp.
Ooh, true, a pouch could fix that. Was wondering, does water from your skateboard splash up from the wheels or on the sides? Since I think there might be printable modifications from skateboarding fanatics online to prevent that.

Hi, your video was posted on Reddit on r/videos. Hopefully you get some traffic from there. Great video, very cool to hear about your daily life. +1, subscribed
Baccalarium thanks :)
Given the right resources you could have robot spider legs.
Snap-on makes amazing mechanic tools, but they are expensive af. Use the gloves all the time when working on my car.
That's a great backpack, its orange!🎒 😁
its Ilona's backpack haha
Do you think you’ll use your wheelchair more often in Denver - so that it will keep you a little bit higher off the ground, away from snow? In one of your other videos I remember seeing you use a board with a wheel in the middle of it. I’m surprised that wasn’t on your list of items that come in handy for you.
I might use a wheelchair more, I’m not sure.
And my Onewheel board is kinda heavy and takes a lot out of me to ride, but it is very fun so it’s my recreational board :)
Stay cool Rowdy ✌
Looking handy on that boosted. And you have a custom Onewheel too huh. Pretty cool. The freedom of an electric board is great isn't it?
Hi Rowdy
Have you looked at motorcycle gloves with built in palm sliders ?
AsifItMatters I have, most I checked out still didn’t last long against concrete, but it’s been a while since I’ve looked since the snap-on gloves have served me so well lol
Maybe this has been suggested to you by a thousand people already, but have you considered glueing actual shoe sole rubber to the palms of your gloves? You can buy sheets of it at places like amazon, so you can cut it any way you like. That way you can make a multi-part glove sole so you can still move your fingers while wearing them.
That's interesting! I might try that.
You remind me of Saul from
Pineapple express
I'm the only one hypnotized with his huge arms?
Totally agree. I'm considering amputating my legs for some forearm muscle gains.
That's so nice of your friend Clay. Do you have a postal address in case someone wants to send you a gift
I intend to get a PO box set up, but haven't yet :)
Hello! And if you sticking rubber tire on the your gloves or go to shoe repair and sew on the sole like on the shoe?
Might try that
That glove company should sponser you
I agree! haha
Hey man! Have you thought about flat bottom back packs so when you set it down, you can manage it without it laying on the floor? It seems like it would be useful for ease of access, and i feel like it would feel natural depending on the height of the bag.
Yea sometimes it is easier to have a bookbag to lean on when im sitting down, if thats what u mean
Can you stand on hands? Joking :D Very inspirational video. Keep it up, man. You're doing great job.
The way how you get into wheelchair was so easy.
Did you tried moving by unicycle and trekking poles?
Are you afraid of the way how people looks at you? You can not. You're great.
Never tried a unicycle! And no, I never care about people looking at me, I got used to it a long time ago.
You would think after seeing this video companies could possibly make gloves with some kind of sole on them for this kind of thing.
Hi Rowdy !!! i find your channel just why youtube propose me them !!! my english are very poor. im not mother language.
Beside your courage, your love of life what impressed me very much are your voice and your eyes...

Mario
Thank you!
your amazing
Rowdy I like you so much. Nice to see you with smile. I am wondering do you travel abroad? How is it to travel alone or with someone?
I've only traveled abroud a couple times, both times alone, and both times I found the airport staff to be extremely helpful- I had no trouble at all. I actually for one of my trips abroad, I had a cat with me!
Rowdy videos like these I think make people more comfortable with people with disabilitys like going to a country you never been and finding out how different from what you though ht it would be... People are the same but we see subtle differences and we blow them up into fear etc...
I'm glad I can have an impact
I have an ultra light weight wheelchair that had to be customized to my body measurements.
My tennis chair is like that, but it would be cool if my regular one was custom too
Love the shirt bro gotta ask do you do any gaming
Not much these days, but I used to be into PC games, Blizzard games.
Elbow braces, maybe from Alipnestars or somewhere
Rowdy if you dont mind me asking, would you say that pain/suffering builds character ? You look like ,,lay back, happy sympathetic person" would you say that it is atleast partially thanks to the difficulties you face ?
You cant compare it since you was born this way, but there are people, for example, who were selfish and after they got health difficulties to deal with, it changed them (for the better, they sometimes become more nice towards others) so i think there is some truth in it. Yet i wonder if you agree with that saying. Thanks in advance in case you answer me, have a nice day :)
ehm maybe you wasnt exactly born this way, since is some problem of the developement of the body. But i think you got my point :)
I think it can definitely humble you.
@@RowdyBurton Just now hearing that you mentioned it as number 1 Perk in one video, that it gave you humility and patience. I am glad that you have positive look at it and you are right, everything can be good for something :)
and thank you for answering me :)
have you tried sliding gloves for longboards? they have big rubber pucks on them so they should last awhile
Yea, they were difficult to walk on, unfortunately.
Hi rowdy, I just want to tell you, that you're special.
Do you ever watch people that skate? fx making tricks and stuff like that - im asking cus you are wearing santa cruz (skate brand) + you use skateboard to get around? do you like watch people skate?
I mean i have before but not like all the time lol
I havent had any issues, I usually just plan to get wet if i go in the rain lol
Your car? How do you drive?
I actually did video on this a while back if youre interested

@@RowdyBurton thank you man. U r an awesome person. Have a wonderful day now
It seems like there should be a way to make gloves that would be like tennis shoes
Gloves are his shoes..
how do you drive?
I did a video, "How I drive with no legs" if you are interested
Babolat storm? What tension do you string it at?
i have no idea lol
Hey rowdy how do you drive your car though?
I made a video on that if you're interested, called "How I drive with no legs"
@@RowdyBurton I just saw that video after I posted this comment lol
I habe a question can you feel pain or pressure on your nubs?
Yes. I actually broke one not to long ago and went through the process of getting protective "nub shoes" made. I have quite a few videos about the process if you're interested, starting with "Legless guy breaks a leg"
@@RowdyBurton oh okay thats ill watch. It and ive subscribed for ya your very inspiring.
