John, I think we forget when comparing to our Pierce-KG-Ray era, Jaylen and Jayson made similar sacrifices 4-6 years YOUNGER than when they did. We asked these guys to mature a lot faster and they’re one win away from accomplishing everything they did (a possible finals win and finals loss). It will be interesting to see where they go from here as they continue their hopefully long journey.

When the Mavs started to make the run the Celtics kept their composure. 👏 Past Celtics teams would’ve panicked if Smart was still there he would’ve tried to takeover and start bricking shots and we lose but we pushed all the right buttons and kept our composure and won in the end. Almost to the end of the tunnel 😊
It's been a long time since I can see a comeback from the opponent like that and feel supremely confident that we will pull it out. Probably since the IT era tbh and usually we were the opponent that was down and making the comeback. These guys are on another level right now, but they also have unlocked the secret sauce to closing out games. The achilles heel of the celtics no longer exists.

it was obscene to hear national media say the Mavs were the more “battle tested” team. the entire Celtics team minus Porzingis had been to the Finals 2 years earlier!! clearly the more talented, more experienced, more “battle tested” team.

Gotta be JB at this point. Jrue is great but he's not primary on their best player, he's not a primary on offense either. He's absolute magic and I love him and we would NOT be in this position without him don't get me wrong. Makes huge plays... but his responsibilities aren't what Jaylens are and I think that tips the scales way to JB. Also just the overall stats point his way as do the "big moments".

Unpopular opinion: Coach Mazulla put in Pritchard way too soon. Was a big reason why the 21 point lead dwindled down to 3. Luca was attacking him on offense. This isn’t a charity coach. Not in the NBA Finals.
