Do remember: Snowgrave requieres 200% TP. So, even the most damaging spell that could use the full gauge, shouldnt be Fatal. Unless, ofcourse, you have an ítem that halves the cost of said spell.
Did you forget that Susie can refuse our commands sometimes,and spare herself if we're fighting her(Deltatraveler reference to when u fight Susie:She can spare herself in that fight lol). Susie probably has her own soul tbh...

I don't understand *why* Deltarune works in the way they the party leader/human's should is the main one that takes damage for everyone. It could just be a gameplay thing but maybe there is a thematic reason for it

There IS a spell that requires 100%TP other than snowgrave. It's Susie's UltimateHeal. She would know this better than anyone.
It's also probably not a "proper" spell since Susie is still learning how to cast magic that isn't rude/red buster

If you look closely, you can notice kris's huge advantage over susie, blocking and dodging all her attacks in the second round while counter attacking
