Cloud might not be the most likable character but he is for sure one that you just wont forget after you played through and understand his whole story. He goes up and down really fast from being super relatable, even sweet and caring to the most extreme blunt and traumatized character ever created lol It's kinda great actually
@@AnnouncerNi the real cloud when he's not tripping or acting tough is really sweet actually. Like the ending scene where he smiles all shy saying goodbye to Aerith. Thats the real Cloud underneath all that. Too bad we dont get to see much of it.
I get it. Aerith, Cloud and Sephiroth are at the "Reuinion of Worlds" in time at the Forgotten Capitol. Due to the remade timeline being split into separate worlds after the party was baited into destroying destiny and Sephiroth taking control of the whispers, they too were split into lifestream black whispers and lifestream white whispers. This is why we see a convergence of two separate realities. One reality where Aerith dies, and the other where she is saved by Cloud. Cloud now lives in between realities. He sees Aerith alive, but now he is stuck between worlds. Aerith knows she's no longer dead, nor alive, and is stuck in between, but that doesnt mean Cloud is free from Sephiroths control.
I love that they dodged the question of "will Aerith survive" by making it so confusing that you genuinely cannot tell what happened. Did she die but Cloud can talk to her ghost? Is Cloud just hallucinating? Did she survive in an alternate timeline that’s bleeding into this one? I don't know what's real anymore.
Right?? My theory is that it’s a combination of Cloud’s fragmented mind + seeing Aerith’s lifestream ghost. I think she really *is* present with him in some capacity, but clearly he’s the only one who can see her-possibly because of their close bond? Whether Cloud fully understands that she’s dead or not is up in the air. The hopeful side of me wants to say he knows she’s part of the lifestream, but has hopes to bring her back somehow. But maybe that’s just me protecting 😂 honestly though, I really really hope they do find a way to bring her back. I mean, we’ve spent two whole games toying with the idea of alternate timelines, with themes of “you can change fate;” it would feel like such a waste and such a cruel buildup to keep her dead, imo.
@@willowkat27 well even in the original what they basically did was defy fate, fuck me do people forget that stopping Sephiroth was a literal fucking miracle in off itself not to mention stopping the Meteor too, mind You Sephiroth has been confirmed to literally be using a small percentage of his power throughout the story so yeah they were miraculous, as it was fated that Jenova would win in the long run. What drives in the fact that they should've lost was the Mako Poisoning it was an insurance that the planet would die and even then what basically happens in Advent Children was a literal Miracle.
I mean, they're literally making a point of people not being able to cope with her death. I don't know what else can they do to make people understand that her death is what thematically gave this game sense.
Wish they at least kept his realization of what he did wrong at temple of the ancients and made him crack at his false persona a bit more. Hes a bit more emotionally distant here, albeit hes kinda a mess at the end. But at the very end of Gongaga at least he does open up a bit even if not as bewildered in original.
By far the most complex character in Final Fantasy. A lot misunderstood just because he's not the typical goody goody all around flawless character. Cloud really falls deep before people get to understand his story and before he gathers the strenght to come out on top. When he finally does it at the end it feels worth it not just some minor struggle.
@@softrivius5369 I agree just hope they dont ruin his finale with all this mambo jambo timeline bs The og story was so good there was zero reason to do all this...
The psychological trauma is a cool trope, unusual for jrpg standards. A shame the character got depicted as a emo edgeboy with time (very similar to Squall), because the "emo culture" was the trend back in the early to mid 00s (similar to the "woke" trend right now, every now or then society generates these dumb trends), so, when Advent Children was a thing, Kingdom Hearts as well, etc.. Cloud was limited to this edgy personality, but in the original FF7 that "edginess" was very brief. Also, Sephiroth walking around with the single black wing, this is another Kingdom Hearts element that mixed up our memories about the original FF7. Even if I dislike the multiversal shenanigans of these sequels, I am glad they highlighted the "original" Cloud instead of the Advent Children Cloud (talking about the personality and overall development... well, Advent Children and Kingdom Hearts Cloud had zero development anyway), the "original" is a decent character indeed, "brilliant" is a strong word tho
36:34 I like how they are pointing guns at Sephiroth like "drop the sword or we'll shoot!" but they just keep standing there even after he killed 2 guys
There are so many dumb moments in this story. Like why does no one keep an eye on cloud when they know that he’s not in his right mind and he should not be holding the black materia, but for some reason they let him keep it.
I wouldn’t mind an FF7 multiverse if it wasn’t so damn confusing. It’s easy to do on paper but you have to execute it just right or it will be very confusing and weird to the audience. Case in point: Marvel. When they started bringing the multiverse to the big/small screens, it became a convoluted mess due to the writers not executing it properly. I hope everything is explained in Part 3.
As a crisis core fan, I search for a full movie version with the buster sword for nearly 20 minutes. Seeing Zack and Cloud, back to back, both with Angeal's sword is wonderful. Thank you.
Sephiroth in Rebirth: What do you make of this, Cloud? Is any of it real? Or is it all just a fever dream? Sephiroth in Remake: Careful now, that which lies ahead DOES NOT YET EXIST.

Same here its 2 am. This ending it's so damn confusing. I hoped for Aerith survival and her reunion with Zack... Kinda disappointed not gonna lie. It seems like an strategy to sell the next game 😅😅😅... I don't know... All so extrange 😢
This whole mess is just to separate Cloud and Tifa more and more. Think about it: Cloud somehow thinks that he saved Aerith, which is not true. He is completely delusional, while the others are mourning. So in the next part, when Tifa tells him, that she is dead, like, really dead, he will think that she is lying, cause he can SEE Aerith. And he will not believe Tifa, when she tells her, that he was never in Nibelheim as a SOLDIER and he fails to find his true persona.
yeah, also i think that tifa might suspect that it was cloud who killed aerith, because he tried to kill HER earlier and since cloud can see aerith, he’s not mourning her death like the others - hence his indifferent attitude.
makes sense, dont you think Sephiroth can't kill Tifa directly? He tried it using Cloud multiple times, almost succeed, yet she got eaten by Weapon, then he tried to stab her but she dogded. I think Sephiroth's physical and movement strength is so weak since he doesnt entirely exist in physical world, while Tifa is freaking strong physically, in addition she is also the key to get rid of his control over Cloud. If Rebirth is actually the sequel of AC, it makes a lot of sense he attempts multiple times to kill her. Even if Aerith's saved, it doesn't mean he's free from Sephiroth's control, we still need Tifa in part 3 to sober the frick out of Cloud lol.
I've been waiting for part 2 to watch on TH-cam since i cant afford a ps5. Thank you so much for making my day. This is the best story a game has ever had. I'm so happy to see Zack. I remember when I played crisis core I cried when he died. I wish he reunites with Areith. They belong together.
Yeah me too, but now it's double painful to see how Cloud interacts with Aerith and when Marlene said that Aerith likes Cloub so much, and it's after all the shit Zack been through.
@@Daemonic6 What do guys make of Zerith's odds of a comeback after Rebirth? Personally I think Zerith is on life support after Rebirth and that we're not going to get them reuniting in a romantic way.
After a heavy doses of Nomura, any sane videogame character will get a little bit confused. And the audience have to endure the cringe, still, 4 hours in and thus far the story is allright... imagine going from Alan Wake 2 to this, lol but here I am
@RRRRRRRRR33 Alan wake 2 is way more cringe and edgy story lmao. Shitty musicals and cringe additions of Norse mythology with thor and Odin. The story isn't even fully complete you'll have to wait and pay for the dlc.
That's what happens in real life almost with everything... Interpretation of the bible, Darwinism and any sort of misinterpretation of everything...all that inevitably causes heavy damage...
@@michaelrobosa146he was not hallucinating. When barriers of fate are breached, different worlds are created. When the party opened the fate barrier for cloud to enter alone, it breached the fate and created another world. In one world cloud saved aerith. In the other world she died. Then the worlds merged, except the one with zack at the church because sephiroth cut it during the battle. When the worlds merged, everyone is seeing aerith dead but cloud can see the world where he saved her.

ok so the good news is Aerith is still alive in Zack's universe, but she's in a coma right now. While Aerith died in Cloud's universe. what next Square Enix, in the FF7 Relive you guys gonna make multiverse crash each other and make Zack & Aerith join the fight with Cloud and Tifa
Both Cloud and Aerith in Zack's universe woke up. That's why Sephiroth says he found her in a universe that has accepted its fate - a universe that is dying, without mako, and its coming to an end, hence the rift in the sky. From what they're pointing out, the lifestream can create brief lived worlds, but in the end things remain constant - Aerith and Zack returning to the lifestream. Its beings like Sephiroth, Jenova and the Gi that cannot return to the lifestream, and thus Sephiroth trying to alter something in between those worlds that the lifestream holds. Its a convoluted story, a departure from the OG, but I like that they're able to make some meta-commentaries on the themes of the franchise with it. My two cents.
@@vralmanuelCloud and Aerith waking up is another timeline. Yes, there multiple timelines shown. One where Zack goes to Biggs, one where Zack goes to Hojo to cure Cloud where Cloud and Aerith woke up and one where he hasn’t made a decision yet, the last being the current Zack is right now.
Okay I figured out Sephiroth's plan! He told Cloud he needed a push (to kill Aerith), that he had his blessing (to kill Aerith), and when Cloud resisted it he swooped down to do it himself like OG...but even when Cloud blocked it, he was still SMILING. WHY? Because Sephiroth wanted Cloud to create a split in the timeline again - to make a world where she lived, and one where she died! So that either way, he's still going to win. That's why the lifestreamy aurora borealis light appeared when they clashed, just like it did when Zack chose to go to save Cloud instead of Biggs. Timeline split at that moment. Cloud was shifting between both realities because of the temporary merging, so that's why it was glitching between Aerith being dead and being alive.
Gawrsh, it seems like Cetra were an evil race hell-bent on utter destruction. Jenova possessed Sephiroth who was trying to possess Cloud... Right Mickey?
I'm pretty sure Zack will do something about this in the 3rd game, there will be another timeline where he or Cloud can save her, based on Marlene's conversation with Zack. Or maybe the other timeline where Zack woke up after being hit by the meteor, he'll remember Marlene's words and will be there for her that timeline, idk but she's dead in Cloud's timeline that's for sure
@Sparticulous Square has already confirmed months ago, in an interview, there will be NO DLC for Rebirth. What happens in Rebirth is what we get until the final(third) entry to the game.
Just dawned on me that the only reason Cloud couldn't finish telling what happened bet6weenhim and Sephiroth in the OG and remake is because he was living Zacks part and this is where Zacks part ended.
I thinking people are losing it by saying cloud is hallucinating or seeing aeriths ghost in the end. Its aerith, alive, but from a reality bleeding on to the main one, as another comment said. Theres indications of that, sephiroth is able to see and manipulate the other timelines too, he got the power of the whispers after we killed their masters on remake. His connection to clouds mind is giving him acces to the reality where hes still in a coma, he dreams and sees what happens in that reality, hes already connected, sephiroth is using his mind manipulation together with this timeline bleeding to disconnect cloud from his grip in reality to make his breakdown even harder on the third part. Theres signs of which reality are variations and the constant, the variariations have a "fissure" in the sky. The time line which zack is alive has this one, on the last scene where everyone goes to cids airplane and aerith stays, she can see rhe fissure (from her world) and cloud cant (nobody from the main timeline can), which in my perspective hints even more to this aspect of how clouds perception is bleeding between the worlds, he can see aerith from the timeline which she was saved, but the rest of the gang cant besides nanaki who can sense aerith in the lifestream. That aint a contradiction either, since sephiroth says "the same world where timelines are created and destroyed" or something like that, meaning that the life stream is the same as the world is but the time flow can have variables. Of course, what i think that means is that they are buiding up some few things: 1-clouds mental break down to be even bigger, not just staying in his fuzzy memories and traumas but the discomection from his reality itself as probably memories from these other timelines doing even bigger damage to his psyque. 2- sephiroth most prolly want to confuse the timelines so that he turn into the only constant that cant be negated by holy like in the og. 3-the closure most probably will result in the timelines converging to them stay separated in the end or to disappear as cloud accepts that there was a reality where he saved aerith but that is one he (main cloud) cant be part of or that it will be erased so the base of everything (the world) can be saved, but them leading him ti accept that both zack and aerith will forever be with him in the life stream. I lean on the side of how the tine lines will stay separated due to the fact that we see zack after the supposed end of his timeline where he wakes up in the church and says quoting sephiroth " timelines are created, destroyed, but whos to say they cant be created again?" I also think that theres a chance the timelines in general will converge leading to both aerith and zack ending up alive, but thats a minimum. Also, if i might say, everyone saying "this is bs" or "that makes no sense" (not to the theory itself cause it can be bs, but to the game plot that is playing with this theme, stop it. This is a game where dudes lift swords heavier than themselves where they can cast fireballs by shoving crystal balls made of some magical bs up their weapons or their own asses XD it aint supposed "to make sense" art cant be judged by utilitarian measures, it just need to make you feel stuff and tell a cool story which it aint even that complicated.
Exactly right on all counts. Honestly I think the overbloated spectacle and some badly and clunkily-written scenes are what turned people aside from understanding [what you wrote], rather than any "complexity" itself... I think the writers seriously undermined the "Cloud's Madness" theme by 1) overusing it, 2) having no one CONFRONT him about his blatant Sephiroth-ness and insane, homicidal behavior, even when they were looking right at Cloud as he did so and 3) making it unclear as to whether or not Cloud "REALLY REALLY got his marbles back this time", i.e. the Zach epiphany, recovering from the Tifa assault, Recovering from the Aerith Assault. Like how did the whole party not just SIT DOWN and figure out what's going on with Cloud by this point so they can work around it? Why did Tifa never confront Cloud about almost killing her? They'd better stick the landing in Part 3 with the Cloud Restoration sub-plot - especially with how much they mistreated Tifa in this game - otherwise Part 3 is gonna be reviled. There better be a BIG kissy lovey making-up with Tifa, and Cloud had better be a BRAND NEW PERSON (including a removal of his perma-bewilderment & his V.A. finally CEASING to read his voice lines like a robot on Adderal) when he finally gets his head sorted out. Also curious what the hell is up with this "Glenn" guy - So he was a Sephiroth hallucination, trying to get provoke Rufus into war with Wutai to create a bunch of mass-suffering, Full Metal Alchemist style??? And I'm totally perplexed about what Rufus is trying to get out of any of this.... like, Shinra already owns the world.... what do they want out of this situation? Isn't a super-saiyan floating lab-experiment dimension-shifting ghost just as much of a threat to them as any of our protagonists? I have a feeling the writers are setting up for a 'All-Shinra Co. Redemption Arc' in Part 3. Rufus, the Turks, and Shinra randos are being treated too damn nicely + given too much screen-time for that not to be the case. I'm not exactly sure yet how they're gonna play the ending RE: all the convergence / divergence stuff, but all I know is 1) It had BETTER clarify stuff, like the Cloud-Killing-Aerith-But-Not scene we just watched, 2) it doesn't have to be sugar-sweet, but it must at least be satisfying in that it MAKES SENSE. To that end, the writing team had better stand up to Nomura and make sure he doesn't ladle out more mid, overwrought nonsense.
"This is a game where dudes lift swords heavier than themselves where they can cast fireballs by shoving crystal balls made of some magical bs up their weapons or their own asses XD it aint supposed 'to make sense'" They literally already made a game called Final Fantasy VII that made sense. This is cope.
"Also, if i might say, everyone saying "this is bs" or "that makes no sense" (not to the theory itself cause it can be bs, but to the game plot that is playing with this theme, stop it. This is one of the worst arguments ever. You're defending terrible story telling by.... pointing to the fact Cloud has an oversized sword? Really, dude?
Visually the last two hours had some incredible moments. Thematically it was interesting. In writing and execution i either got lost or they botched it. Somewhere in those last 2 hours i got completely lost. Not sure where this is heading. Not sure what happened. Not sure if it can even be saved.
Basic explanation, as far as I understand: There is only one timeline, and it's the timeline Cloud and Aerith are alive in at any given time. We see glimpses of other realities, not necessarily timelines, starting with 2 and then it goes completely bonkers in the second half, indicated by the different versions of Stamps. Everything we're seeing is happening AFTER the events of the PS1 game. Think of the white flash at the end of the OG as being Aerith/ the Lifestream resetting everything to give the world a second chance. All the Whispers and Sephiroth being everywhere is because he's corrupting the Lifestream. Aerith is using the Lifestream to reset the world so it can be saved. Or the Lifestream is doing it on its own. The Lifestream bears fragments of the other possibilities though, or maybe those were failed attempts at saving the world, which is why we see new realities in the game. Nomura/ Destiny. Destiny was killed so all bets are off, or whatever. So Sephiroth finally has a chance to win and completely poison/ destroy the Lifestream.
People really need to go back and play OG FF7 to understand Cloud's mental state at the end of Rebirth. While they did change things up a lot in Remake. Showing Aerith knows what is going on and what will happen. In Rebirth they kept things pretty much the same as OG FF7 in terms of what happened. Maybe Zack will have a much bigger impact in the 3rd game. But in this game they just made Cloud aware Zack is about to help in some form.
Totally different from the OG game as far as Clouds mental health, it’s Tifa that brings Cloud back from his coma and his mental state was only a case of identity crisis, Tifa heals him when she slips into his memories and shows him the truth after they fall into the mako pool under the temple. In Rebirth Clouds mental state is overly complex, now it’s an identity crisis with a mix of multiverse stuff that’s really hard to follow. Also it’s now Aerith who guides Cloud through his mental struggles as seen after the temple implodes. Is the end result the same, I guess…which begs the question, why change it up so much.
@@TheRedRaven_ Never thought that 'retelling' the OG story could be this complicated. I hope SE knows what their doing. Don't want to see the remake story without 'roadmap'
I think tifa will still help cloud with his mental state, after mental cloud revive true sephy with the black material, releasing all the weapons and the same time meteor is summoned, we will be on disc 3.
They ruined such a special moment of the game. It was super essential they got this right, because it was a super sad scene in the original but not now. But they turned her into a F zombie On Off On Off... terrible.

@@umhi9778 Trust me, i played the OG and i still have very little clue what's going on with the ending, and the only emotion i felt was confusion. It just feels overly convoluted for the sake of being convoluted.
The one thing that really ticked me off about FF7 is how situations (especially the one with Gus) could've easily been non existent. How can the party take down dragons, world guardians, SEPHIROTH, and all kinds of other horrors and baddies, but lose to street thugs with bats and guns when they have magic and insane speed and reflexes...like none of this ever has or ever will make sense.
That's why street thugs in anime take the situation hostage rather than the characters. Threaten to blow up the town dam or poison the city water supply. Here they just swing at Cloud and win...
“The Aerith death scene is unsatisfying, confusing, and difficult to determine what happened. Yeah, that’s trauma. Cloud doesn’t get the emotional release because he doesn’t fully process what happened. It’s frustrating that it’s handled that way because trauma is frustrating
Yeah I’m very confused as to what really happened, this is coming from someone who beat the original game a few weeks ago lol. Kind of disappointed they didn’t do the scene where Cloud lays Aerith into the water, that was a very iconic moment. Missed opportunity on that entire story element, too confusing and lacking context of what’s actually happening.
A lot of people aren’t going to like it. But this is actually a fair representation of how a schizophrenic person might process grief. Detached from reality, they might be totally convinced a deceased love one is still around, even if others they trust tell them otherwise. Even in the OG, cloud was basically a schizophrenic until mideel. I think the way they’re going is actually brilliant.

Gonna be a long wait for the final installment! And whats the betting a new pkaystation will be needed for it
I think that's the point. She's supposed to be alive and dead at the same time. We don't get to mourn her because Cloud didn't mourn, because to him and the reality he's existing in, she's still alive.
Even Yuffie, a character who was disliked by many people got a much better chance this time. She'll be disliked always because she's supposed to be the 'annoying little sister' but still.
Yeah that whole interaction made no sense. Aerith called it a fake and then it turns out to be real?? Then barrett just tosses it away like it wasn’t important and its the whole reason why the came. Then sephiroth has it then drops it to cloud and asks him to give it to him??? So many confusing moments that felt so stupid and weird. This game’s ending is pretty shit.
I'm thinking about how the mako cannon seemed a lot more impressive in the og, where we didn't have skyscraper-smashing by the end of midgar. This game nails the bombastic, epic, and goofy parts of FF7 so well... but falls apart at the quieter moments. Maybe they had too much budget :p

Under my interpretation, it's very intriguing that the very 7 seconds Sephiroth mentions was a very obvious nod to Aerith's fate, while actively wanting us to interfere. At the end of the final battle, he knows it hasn't ended, but thanks to Cloud making more splits it's almost too in your face that Sephiroth may now have a future where he won (If it isn't already him the one we faced in the entirety of the game). Now, following how this game has done the narrative, no choice we do may change outcome, but only how it happens.
It confuses me that so many people say "7 seconds til the end" was about Aerith dying. Why? They've said that it's about time having stopped at the edge of creation, and if time restarts the world will end in 7 seconds. I'm baffled about how anyone's interpreting it as being about Aerith's death. He didn't say "7 seconds between some arbitrary point in time and the end for one person"!
It's the Final Fantasy main theme. It's in all of the games except for a few (X and XIII don't have it) th-cam.com/video/LbIsj5y7fuE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kw7BAX4cB2EZvbm3

A list of questions: 1) At what point does the scene in Intermission take place, where Zack came to Airith’s church and found out that she was not there, because judging by the amount of dirt on his face, he went to Midgar immediately after canceling his execution, without entering the church. (is there a third timeline here?) 2) Midgar was destroyed by a tornado, in Cloud’s reality he was not there, but he was in the pocket universe when we went to beat Seph at the very end of the remake (Did we beat Seph in Zack’s reality? Are the worlds somehow still connected?) 3) In the news they say that they are looking for a former soldier with a Buster Sword, and they are looking for him in the ruins of Midgar, i.e. It’s immediately obvious that this is not Zack, but Cloud (how many damn Clouds are there in Zack’s reality?) 4) How does time work here, because between the execution of Zack and the party’s departure from Midgar, at least a week or two must pass, while Zack, after the cancellation of the canonical execution, comes to Midgar at the moment when the escape from Midgar in theory should have taken place, but for him - It took at most half a day and a half.
For point 3 they're looking for Zack as well, he had just escaped and slayed several Shinra soldiers. They never mention that the man with the buster sword is apart of Avalanche, so Zack is the only suspect imaginable considering he JUST became a 'deserter'.
@@Play4Vida No, this is not the end of the game. I mean if we put the full boss battle and some important story battles, not only cutscenes people will be able to enjoy it like as if they are watching a movie.
Well a bit but tbh, similar to many trilogy, the middle part is always the most confused. Like "okay she's actually dead now.. like for real now?". I mean with all of these "theories" about multiple timelines I think it's now way more confusing than it actually is especially with Zack in the equation. So in the end, yeah it's emotional but they adjusted the storytelling to be softer. In OG, she died and that's it. No lingering feeling for players to be like "eyy they wouldn't do that" and actually tried to find the way to bring her back. In this remake they gave this lingering feeling like "she's still with us but only Cloud can see her" which is too cliché for me or even worse if those " theories" of multiple timelines is canon which is like "Aerith is still alive but from another timeline which only her and Sephiroth are aware of it and shared the same cognition". I think her death is inevitable (to progress the stories) but let that be the end of her. No multiple timeline bs because it's way too confusing right now especially with Zack included.
This is my first ff game and i got spoiled soo hard (i know them tho but still i hate people dying or going away after i played with them for days 💀) And of course since ff devs really care about bonds this will also make you get attached easily to some characters Uncool. Remakes are usually bad but this is kinda good ig especially the graphics part. Lets not talk about cloud being braindead all the time.
ohh please, stop being so dramatic. y'all are so hilarious af. they did NOT "ruined" her death. she still died at the hands of Sephiroth. you can literally see blood all over her when Tifa and the rest of the team saw her (and yes, that was from their perspective because Cloud's POV was fucked up). they are most likely saving her actual death scene in Part 3. y'know? the impaling and burial scene. but it will be from Tifa's POV, considering she is close with Aerith. the Aerith that Cloud was seeing in the end was just her ghost/soul from the life stream. Cloud is basically hallucinating that he saved her, when in reality, he didn't, and that would further explore his complete mental breakdown in Part 3, just like what happened in the og FF7.@ssshallfall934ho3
@@darknessshallfall934ho3 ohh please, stop being so dramatic. y'all are hilarious af. they did not "ruined" her death scene. She still died at the hands of Sephiroth. you can literally see her blood on the floor (but from Tifa and the rest of the team's perspective, since Cloud's mind was fucked up and he thinks that he saved her). if you are worried about Cloud's line when Aerith died, it was literally shown that he said something to her, but it was inaudible, and i think they are saving it for Part 3. imo, making Cloud believe/hallucinate that he saved Aerith would further explore his complete mental breakdown in Part 3, just like what happened in the og FF7. like seriously, have some patience... everything will pay off in the end. i'm positive.
The pacing in these cutscenes feel like the actors are struggling to remember their lines and trying to buy themselves time by looking around awkwardly and huffing. I mean, when someone insinuates that you're supposed to be dead, you normally wouldn't look down introspectively for 10 seconds before saying "Can't believe I'm having this conversation with you, but here we are," you'd generally say, immediately, "Well clearly I'm not, though it was close, here's a nasty scar to prove it." It's like they're all on pot or something and have the mental reflexes of a snail, every reaction is like 5 seconds too late to be natural and they're always angsting about something known only to them beforehand.
I get it's a spectacle, but the original conveyed the reality of loss so powerfully with the fact that not only did she die in the original, but you never got to say goodbye.
The date can be with diferent people. You can get Aerith, Barret, Yuffie instead of Tifa for example and also diferent things happen in the dates depending on your affection level with them
What does it say about me that when I heard Dyne I'm like... I know this voice, I know this voice... Wait Joe Slater from The Secret World, the weird mutating fishboat dude!!!
ngl I liked a majority of how they handled this but they really might undersell Clouds eventual realization of what happened because of Tifas isolated lifestream sequence at Gongaga plus Cloud recalling Zack at 8:20:44 Makes me worried part 3s delivery of my favorite part of the game where Cloud realizes who he is might not be as grand, plus very mixed feelings on the ending moreso after it goes down and everyone is clearly mourning when Cloud cant come to grips on what actually happened. I guess its moreso he will have to come to grips with the rebirth ending moreso rather than realizing what actually happened in nibelheim.
In regarding to Tifa Gongaga sequence, it will not undersell Cloud’s eventual realization in the lifestream. I think what the scene depicted that it introduce Tifa about the Lifestream sequence, which is like a tutorial sequence for her to guide Cloud later on. Tbh that’s my favorite part of the game.
Can’t show blood, can’t show Cloud and Tifa kiss, can’t show Cid smoking & cussing like a sailor, everyone has to act silly like it’s made for children, I’ve never in my life time seen a property that use to be cool & gritty get so neutered! Everyone acts so cringe it’s unreal.
Anyone else notice when cloud and tifa were in her house in nibelheim, the poster in the background? The Emerald sea with and an island shaped and coloured the same as emerald weapon
I got to the Cait Sith section at the manor and decided I hated the mini games of this game enough to sell it and just watch a montage. The mini games really killed this entire game for me.
It's weird how certain FFs will actually show healing magic in cutscenes but then games like FF7 the concept is never brought up. Aerith as a healer is purely gameplay and that's very weird.
I feel like Aerith overstayed after her death. Cloud being able to still see her and communicate with her as if she were alive and well takes away from his biggest motivational factor in the og game. He wasn't able to say goodbye to her and him being right there and unable to save her filled him with so much rage and guilt that fuels him to destroy Sephiroth. Here he doesn't even seem bummed after the first few tears. Meanwhile the rest of the party is mourning her hard. Idk. I liked the story but some of the Aerith stuff is just...weird.
Have you not played the orginal he is literally insane now lost his mind and can't accept she is dead like the orginal just more in depth with aeirth death and clouds' mental health
So, I guess the ending of the FFVII Remake Intermission when Zack gets to the church and is thinking of what to say to Aerith when he sees her again was.....yet another-another timeline? Because in Rebirth, as soon as he gets to Midgar, while still carrying Cloud, he sees her on the TV..... Can anyone clarify this, please? I guess another question I also have is the same question quite lot of you have....."The f*** is going on anymore?" 😂
wanted to see how far along my playthrough of the game was and I'm at about the 1 hour and 35 minute mark. I've put about 15 and a half hours into this game already. How fucking big is this game lmao
@Christopher._M I cleared out every quest and every icon on the map. I also spent some time exploring a bit. I'm 23 hours in now and just arrived in under junon and am doing all the side stuff before going to sleep in the inn. I was really confused cause the demo had a girl requesting help and u fight some leviathan looking thing, but in the actual game that doesn't happen so either its just for the demo cause the wanted to end it with a boss fight or perhaps it will happen after I stay at the inn. Idk. I'm also level 26 and everything is starting to feel a bit too easy even on dynamic.
Dude I got 60 hours in and thought "I just want my life back at this point." So I got to a point where more side quests unlocked, saved, turned the game off, and started watching this. Not enough time in my life for games this long. Too many side quests.
Cloud’s mental health : haha im in danger ….. i’ll be fine
Just replace when he says fine with no, no cloud. You are not fine.

This actually makes sense

I love that they dodged the question of "will Aerith survive" by making it so confusing that you genuinely cannot tell what happened. Did she die but Cloud can talk to her ghost? Is Cloud just hallucinating? Did she survive in an alternate timeline that’s bleeding into this one? I don't know what's real anymore.
I'm fairly sure She's dead and only Cloud can see her. Why, I do not know. I don't think he's losing his mind, but it's possible.
He's clearly hallucinating, it's just a different perspective but the end results the same.
They nailed Cloud in remakes. Honestly they can finally showcase everything this dude is. Brilliant protagonist
Fantastic protagonist alongside Clive Rosfield of FF16

This whole mess is just to separate Cloud and Tifa more and more. Think about it:
Cloud somehow thinks that he saved Aerith, which is not true.
Until she helps him regain his true self in mideel, which will further cement their bond.
Part 3 is gonna be ridiculous
yeah, also i think that tifa might suspect that it was cloud who killed aerith, because he tried to kill HER earlier and since cloud can see aerith, he’s not mourning her death like the others - hence his indifferent attitude.
I just think they're making the characters -and us- deal with schizo Cloud for way too long.
Well, part 3 is where Tifa's and Cloud's relationship is really supposed to flourish. So we will see how they expand on that.
makes sense, dont you think Sephiroth can't kill Tifa directly?

@@vralmanuel Actually that's a third universe not the same one as Zack's because Marlene and Elmyra aren't there
Okay I figured out Sephiroth's plan!

Of course, what i think that means is that they are buiding up some few things:
1-clouds mental break down to be even bigger, not just staying in his fuzzy memories and traumas but the discomection from his reality itself as probably memories from these other timelines doing even bigger damage to his psyque.
I lean on the side of how the tine lines will stay separated due to the fact that we see zack after the supposed end of his timeline where he wakes up in the church and says quoting sephiroth " timelines are created, destroyed, but whos to say they cant be created again?"
I also think that theres a chance the timelines in general will converge leading to both aerith and zack ending up alive, but thats a minimum.
It's not obvious and that's the actual problem. Even with your in depth explanation I can't wrap my mind around it
people are stupid lol
"This is a game where dudes lift swords heavier than themselves where they can cast fireballs by shoving crystal balls made of some magical bs up their weapons or their own asses XD it aint supposed 'to make sense'"
They literally already made a game called Final Fantasy VII that made sense.
It was a complete letdown for me, what a terrible way to deal with one of gaming's most emotionally impactful moments. It's a total mess.
Basic explanation, as far as I understand:
There is only one timeline, and it's the timeline Cloud and Aerith are alive in at any given time.
Like a form of a wolf I guess..
I rather play the OG from here on out. They completely dropped the ball on the remake project. FF7 is not Kingdom Hearts
I think tifa will still help cloud with his mental state, after mental cloud revive true sephy with the black material, releasing all the weapons and the same time meteor is summoned, we will be on disc 3.
shes alive! shes dead....SHES ALIVE!!....shes dead.....SHES ALIVE!!!!!.....oh shes dead again??? wtf
They ruined such a special moment of the game. It was super essential they got this right, because it was a super sad scene in the original but not now.
But they turned her into a F zombie On Off On Off... terrible.
@@Play4Vidathink this game is for people who already played the original and don't need the moment redone for it to feel somewhat significant. I didn't play or watch the original but if I didn't read a plot summary I would have no idea what the point was supposed to be in any of this.
@@umhi9778 Trust me, i played the OG and i still have very little clue what's going on with the ending, and the only emotion i felt was confusion.
It just feels overly convoluted for the sake of being convoluted.
TERRIBLE
It's horribly written and executed
Yeah I’m very confused as to what really happened, this is coming from someone who beat the original game a few weeks ago lol. Kind of disappointed they didn’t do the scene where Cloud lays Aerith into the water, that was a very iconic moment. Missed opportunity on that entire story element, too confusing and lacking context of what’s actually happening.
You're supposed to be confused. These moments will come later im sure @TheRedRaven_

From playing the original, i feel like Aeriths big scene didnt hit the feelings as much in this. She is definitely gone because you see the reactions of everyone else but cloud.
*also, if those giant things with big irbs on there chests are THE weapons i feel extremely disappointed because in the OG they are far more scary looking.
Gonna be a long wait for the final installment! And whats the betting a new pkaystation will be needed for it
I think that's the point. She's supposed to be alive and dead at the same time. We don't get to mourn her because Cloud didn't mourn, because to him and the reality he's existing in, she's still alive.
I think there will be the normal weapons diamond ruby etc I think these are small variants of the sapphire weapon
They really did barret great in these remakes
Even Yuffie, a character who was disliked by many people got a much better chance this time. She'll be disliked always because she's supposed to be the 'annoying little sister' but still.
So....can we agree that Barret fucked up there in tossing the Black Materia and making Cloud fetch it?
Yeah that whole interaction made no sense. Aerith called it a fake and then it turns out to be real?? Then barrett just tosses it away like it wasn’t important and its the whole reason why the came. Then sephiroth has it then drops it to cloud and asks him to give it to him??? So many confusing moments that felt so stupid and weird. This game’s ending is pretty shit.

A list of questions:
1) At what point does the scene in Intermission take place, where Zack came to Airith’s church and found out that she was not there, because judging by the amount of dirt on his face, he went to Midgar immediately after canceling his execution, without entering the church. (is there a third timeline here?)
2) Midgar was destroyed by a tornado, in Cloud’s reality he was not there, but he was in the pocket universe when we went to beat Seph at the very end of the remake (Did we beat Seph in Zack’s reality? Are the worlds somehow still connected?)
3) In the news they say that they are looking for a former soldier with a Buster Sword, and they are looking for him in the ruins of Midgar, i.e. It’s immediately obvious that this is not Zack, but Cloud (how many damn Clouds are there in Zack’s reality?)
4) How does time work here, because between the execution of Zack and the party’s departure from Midgar, at least a week or two must pass, while Zack, after the cancellation of the canonical execution, comes to Midgar at the moment when the escape from Midgar in theory should have taken place, but for him - It took at most half a day and a half.
Purple
For point 3 they're looking for Zack as well, he had just escaped and slayed several Shinra soldiers. They never mention that the man with the buster sword is apart of Avalanche, so Zack is the only suspect imaginable considering he JUST became a 'deserter'.

Old school fans must be emotional playing this
No we not they ruined Aerith death so bad
This is my first ff game and i got spoiled soo hard (i know them tho but still i hate people dying or going away after i played with them for days 💀)

ohh please, stop being so dramatic. y'all are so hilarious af. they did NOT "ruined" her death. she still died at the hands of Sephiroth. you can literally see blood all over her when Tifa and the rest of the team saw her (and yes, that was from their perspective because Cloud's POV was fucked up). they are most likely saving her actual death scene in Part 3. y'know? the impaling and burial scene. but it will be from Tifa's POV, considering she is close with Aerith. the Aerith that Cloud was seeing in the end was just her ghost/soul from the life stream. Cloud is basically hallucinating that he saved her, when in reality, he didn't, and that would further explore his complete mental breakdown in Part 3, just like what happened in the og FF7.@ssshallfall934ho3

Makes me worried part 3s delivery of my favorite part of the game where Cloud realizes who he is might not be as grand, plus very mixed feelings on the ending moreso after it goes down and everyone is clearly mourning when Cloud cant come to grips on what actually happened. I guess its moreso he will have to come to grips with the rebirth ending moreso rather than realizing what actually happened in nibelheim.
In regarding to Tifa Gongaga sequence, it will not undersell Cloud’s eventual realization in the lifestream.
