this is great!! It's a tough skill to learn, I'm so glad you stuck with it even if it took years! If you have any other skills you need a tutorial for let me know. Happy to help!
I LOVE YOU. i've been failing at chest hooping and obviously shoulder hooping. i've been trying with a 32" naked polypro convinced its my hoop. but i did it! i stripped, followed your suggestions and, i may of looked like a dying fish on land but i was able to chest hoop for like, AT LEAST 6 seconds. thank you for helping me on my hoop journey! :)
haha! :) I love it " I stripped" and " dying fish" had me literally loling! i'm telling you, bare skin really helps! I'm so glad it was helpful, and hope you continue to love and enjoy your journey :) keep at it I bet you're gonna get it longer than 6 seconds soon!
The best tutorial I've watched about shoulder hooping! The tip you gave about the backward/forward of the shoulder is essential and it's something I didn't realize before.. thank you!
Great job explaining..I have been close to shoulder hooping. I can chest hoop get one hand out. You are the first video to actually tell me what to do with my shoulders!!! I couldn't get my back shoulder right. Thank you! Now I need to practice to getting it smooth!!!
Oh wow....I loved your tutorial. I have chest hooping down (pretty solid) but can never get shoulder hooping. The advice you gave to insert one arm at a time when transitioning from chest hooping to shoulder hooping was just the advice I needed! Thank you! Also, you have a very likable presence and I felt like I knew you already...hehe Thanks again :)
you're so welcome! I'm glad that tip was helpful, and thank you for the nice comment about my presence ( I really think I'm quite awkward!). Thanks so much for the feedback
I have not heard the backward/forward tip. I'm going to try this. I agree with Andrezza, you break the chest and shoulder hooping technique into an easier way to comprehend and execute these tricks. Thanks for sharing!
Wow! I kept trying to do a circle and it confused me so much but I can finally keep it up now pushing against the hoop front and backward like you do!! Thank you!
aw estelle, thank you SO much that means so much to me. I know everyone learns differently and my style doesn't work for everyone -- so I'm so glad this works for you!!
hi there! I'm not sure the exact weight but this hoop is a 34" diameter, it's about 1 pound though. Here is a link for a PE (polyethylene hoop) which is what I use in this video : www.thehoopjunky.com/product-page/budget-fitness-hoop code TANOOKITWIRLS saves 15% if you need to get a new hoop :) Shoulder hooping is challenging, be patient, and don't get discouraged! It can take months, even years to get down! I also offer all of my workshops, classes and tutorials on Patreon now --> www.patreon.com/tanookitwirls thank you for your support on my channel here!
Hi, yes it will work! The only thing is that it might be a little painful/ cause bruising in the beginning. If you are finding that it hurts to practice, I would recommend getting a polypro or HDPE which will be a bit lighter, and less stiff than a fitness hoop. Generally I recommend 3/4" or 7/8" size as it will be slightly heavier than 5/8" for example - and the weight will help slow down the hoop from falling to the ground as easily. Here are some if you'd like to take a look from my sponsor: www.thehoopjunky.com/beginner-hoops promo code TANOOKITWIRLS for 15% off. let me know if you have any other questions!
i have a 38 ' 100 PSI hoop, and shoulder hooping is difficult with it. I'm getting a new hoop in the next few days. I would like to try a hoop in between 34 & 38. You mentioned that you recommend 34 " 3/4 PE. Is it a 100 PSI?. I also have a polypro which is fine for waist hooping, but I'm having trouble getting it on my shoulder. I'm not a beginner hooper, but haven't mastered the chest and shoulder tricks. I was thinking of getting a 3/4" HPDE hoop at 36." I'm 5'7". What do you think?
I am so sorry I missed this comment, gah technology!! Do you still need any tips or recommendations on your question? Would love to help or if there is anything else you're working on!
@@edzutube I will say that the first hoop I really learned on was a 32" 5/8 hoop with grip tape. But!! I will also say most ppl say that's too small to start and it was very challenging! 34" may be a good size to try first ! Here's my sponsor if you're curious where my hoops are from www.thehoopjunky.com/58polypro and you can save 15% using my user name TANOOKITWIRLS :) message me if you have any other questions! So the ones I use in this video are MUCH lighter than my 38". My first beginner hoop was a 38" 100 PSI hoop and was so so heavy, and I grew out of it pretty fast. The black/pink hoop i use in this video is a 34 inch3/4 PE hoop which I always recommend for my beginner students, its heavier than the polypro hoops like the plain UV pink one in this video, but lighter than those 38" hoops . The black pink is available here: www.supernovahoops.com/product/draculaura-inspired-hula-hoop , but a cheaper version exactly the same material that I recommend for those that don't want to send too much is here: www.supernovahoops.com/product/draculaura-inspired-hula-hoop and extra 11% off using code " tanookitwirls" that's usually the ones my students purchase !
I FINALLY did it thanks to your advice!! I'd been trying for years!! Can't wait to watch more of your videos! THANK YOU!
