Oh, your first attack with the Primordial was wrong on so many levels. :) - The Primordial always wants to be "in line" with its target, so the first movement would be down one space and then in a straight line towards the Titan. Yielding a totally different board state. Rulebook p. 38: If the Target is not in a straight line from the Primordial, the Primordial will “zigzag” move towards it cardinally, switching the movement axis after every space travelled until it reaches a position that would allow it to continue moving towards the Target in a straight line (see examples, p. 39). That example in the next page of the rulebook is actually a carbon copy of your initial situation just with a different direction. - The Primordial should face the attacked Titan when it reached its final spot. p. 40 Primordial Turning Unless stated otherwise, the Primordial always bears down on its victim! Consequently, the Primordial always turns: * Towards its Target, when it begins and ends its move. * Towards its Target, before it performs an Attack (unless it targets a Zone). - You forgot to draw a Trauma card after receiving 2 Danger from the Attack. - It seems the most dire mistake you made was spoted later on as you already made a note about Trample when you wrongly triggered the trait. Yeah, lvl1 bull doesn't have it as it is stated on the Primordial card. You also made a mistake during resolving Trample since that should end with the bull turning towards the most Titans. In your case it should turn around 180 degrees. - You forgot to resolve the second part of the After Attack line (Labyrinth 1) of the AI card.
YIKES! Thanks for this detailed post! I’ve pinned it to the top of the comments section. - So I definitely don’t remember reading the rule about the Primordial getting in line with Titan as quickly as possible. So that’s a complete miss on my part. - However, I definitely know the rules regarding the Primordial facing his victim, resolving the After Attack, and drawing the trauma card. Those three mistakes I’m gonna chalk up to it being 5am when I filmed the first portion of this and I hadn’t completed my first cup of coffee! 😴 Seriously thank you for taking the time to post this! These sort of comments really help me improve future videos as well as my off-video games.
@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline No worries. This game has a LOT of moving parts. You need a couple of games the get most of it right. But actually most of the rules are intuitive and the mechanism quickly becames muscle memory. Keep it up!
Thanks for the comment and for pinning it. I fought the Labyrinthauros yesterday and was sure to have made a lot of mistakes - now I know for a fact 😅 The video and the comment helps, so thanks!
Glad it helped Sunzi! Be sure to check back later for my detailed How to Play series. I’ll be teaching the full rulebook over the course of roughly 5 videos. My instructional videos are almost entirely error free (especially when compared to my gameplays).
One other thing, only 1 battle terrain card, whichever was the from the first expedition since the last battle. I would prefer if you could have 1 inner and 1 outer terrain to mix things up a bit but the rules say only add a battle terrain to the next fight if none are already there
Very good video and kudos for pinning the correction comment, great for all of us yet to play game and learning (and no shame in playing wrong, it’s a game after all and a complex one at that!). Also very nice to take the time to put all the game’s credits at the start of video. Excellent as usual!
To clarify , if a titan is in the city it does not block line of sight per the example of p38 of the rule book . Only if the line of sight passes through the city from one side to the other does it block
We fought our first Laby battle last week - using Labyrinth tiles for the first tile. I came to watch this video to check we played correctly (and to see if I spot anything you may have done wrong) :)
I genuinely love when people try to find rules errors in my videos so please do! It helps improve my game (both in future videos and when I'm just playing for fun). :-)
It's your Danger that determines which trauma card to draw rather than your Fate. However, high fate can be a big problem as well once it starts pushing past 9. Plus alot often high Fate will cause the primordial's cards to gain effects.
You probably know this already but: Shipwrecker Shield - you said that was re-roll 2d10's when attacking or evading. It's not when attacking, only when evading.
I love KDM but I need more story. Glad ITU made this game. Biggest downside is the mental load is tough.. there's so many things to remember for a solo player that it's tough. Marcin even said it was not designed to be played solo. It can be, but that's why the mental load is high.
Hey! Is it possible your Shell terrain tile is wrong? I got it just today haha from the same adventure you did and its inner 3, so it needs to not be within 3 of border edges! Think you place it like outer 3.
Absolutely possible, Maximiliano! When it comes to my gameplays if you think you've found an error there's a very good chance you have. I always appreciate people who watch these videos close enough to catch those things since it helps me play cleaner in the future!
@@BoredOnlineBoardOffline its the best way for all of to learn and get the rules fixed into our head haha. I am waiting for your other videos on how to play, so I can see if some rules I sometimes have doubts I am doing alright or not!
You need to give carving weapons to someone with +1-+3 wisdom... farm them resources. Also I thought when you caused a wound you lose a dispair token if you have it, or at the end of the fight whichever happens first. If you miss you don't get to add Kratos effects to the pool, though I think you can add them for weapons. Your Javalin only exhausts if you wound.
This simulates how it’s relatively easy to hit a monster but much harder to actually wound it. Often your weapon just glances off its tough exterior. This allows for all kinds of great interactions between the primordial and your titan and can really ramp up the tension. There’s a number of games that use a similar mechanism.
I don’t think you can place more than one Adventure terrain tile per Timeline Battle. The rulebook states that you ignore the placement instruction as soon as you already noted one in a previous adventure.
Yeah it does seem like that's the intent in the rules. Probably the first instance of a rule I really don't like. I'd much prefer to be able to include multiple terrain types for greater variety.
Hey, just dripping in to let you know that Rush isn't a free action, it uses both your combat and movement action for that round. Also, I think reposition only happens in the second action window, you can't use it to sneak extra movement in. There's a lot going on and the fights can be draining when your learning and trying to provide commentary at the same time. Keep at it, enjoying the series so far!
You're right on both counts, Jason! Thanks for pointing that out. Hate that both of those errors made the fight easier (possibly significantly) for me. But I'll get them right in the future! Thanks for watching!
Anytime you see my Titans start with danger it's due to some sort of story consequence which occurred during the Voyage/Adventure Phase. Can't remember exactly the reason for it in this specific case. Thanks for watching!
Lol no worries! I get this comment once every few months. I guess I could postpone the release of a video until TH-cam fully processed it…but sometimes I’m too excited and just want to release it into the wild!
According to the rules the bull can move through the laberynth. It does not block his movement. Also he would have gone into the minos city and it would have gone to the ruins side. Additionally don’t you have to be in the cities to search them not adjacent to them?
I enjoyed the video however, there are a lot of mistakes during your gameplay. The reason this all stands out for me, is I am reading the rule book while watching your video so I can be better versed when I introduce this to my board game group. Break Tokens to not automatically add 1 power to your power roll you have to roll the Triangle looking Icon for an opportunity to use the break token. I am surprised no one in the comments caught that.
Yeah there were for sure a good number of rules errors in my first two playthroughs. My gameplays tend to have those errors especially in these bigger games. Though now that I've played quite a bit more, when I film my next gameplay it should be a lot cleaner! However, I'll be filming an instructional series soon and those are always super clean (though every now and then something might slip through) so be sure to check that out!
I also see you are not rolling enough red dice. For example your attack with the siren teeth you hit 3 times and rolled 4 red dice. You should roll 3 dice for hits, 1 for the die on the weapon and 1 for the die on your sheet. If your aggression is at 5 you get 1 more. You should have had 5 red dice.
Oh, your first attack with the Primordial was wrong on so many levels. :)

Good catch, Marco! You’re absolutely right.
The left side of gear cards is for offensive stats.
The right side of gear cards is for defensive stats.
can someone explain to me the design logic behind the two barriers to a successful attack? both the original attack roll and a wounding roll
