  • Nicki's journey into creating a mini modular set up.
    Another DIY project to relocate the Ground Control into its own box. Made from a cigar box which matches Les' cigar box guitar :-)

      Thanks! It’s all about the lights 😂 they were essential :)

    Clever way to create a small skiff. Are you going to use a USB to Eurorack converter to power it? That might work really well. Nice work. Anxious to see the next episode.

      I can power the ground control directly from the faceplate. However I am going to be using usb power for the small black case… videos on that are imminent! Watch this space :)

      @@iamseeingdots Ah. I didn’t realize ground control could do that.

      @@musicalmiscellany it’s brilliant. Because if you power it from the front you can use the connector on the back to provide power to a bunch of other modules :)

    Fabulous! But how are you going to power it?

    • @iamseeingdots
      @iamseeingdots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s power on the front panel of the ground control :) you can even use that to power other modules from the ground control - another reason why the ground control is so amazing :)

      @@iamseeingdots Oh of course! I'd forgotten about that! Sweet!

    What about power and rails?

    • @iamseeingdots
      @iamseeingdots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The ground control can be powered direct from the faceplate, I decided not to use rails as it is a pretty snug fit in the box, and I do have the lid to protect it when we take it out the building. I do have to remember to be super careful with it because it isn’t actually screwed in!

      @@iamseeingdots could you simply screw it into the wood supports?

      @tonalaxis_AXiS_MODULAR ปีที่แล้ว

      @@iamseeingdots you should screw it in place, I have 2 homemade skiffs that use wooden rails.

      @@draconianrhythms yes we could definitely do that. The only reason we haven’t is that I may move it from case to case. If it ends up being a permanent fixture in there we will definitely do that :)

      @iamseeingdots  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tonalaxis_AXiS_MODULAR if we decide to keep ground control in the box permanently we will defo do that :) 👍🏻
