Angelina took us us back to her 8 yr old time frame when she used a lot of vocal fry, which I've always loved. Here, she had in spades! Can't go a day without listening to this marvelous young lady, since 2015.
This is Angelina playing and having fun, but there is a camera recording what she is doing, but when she is doing a live performance she doesn’t play at all, and you can see this in the rehearsals vs the actual concerts, she sometimes even blows the musicians who play with her away because even they don’t expect what Angelina actually does when she performs live!
You're not born with a raspy voice or, at six or seven years old, you do not perform some vocal frying to sing dittos, but your purpose could be to sing to others to please them: it is a gift. If you accept the gift by opening it, you will be called a gifted vocalist. You would have never never work for it though. In order to be recognized as a multi talented vocalist or as a superstar, you would have to go through long tutorial training sessions to acquire, for instance, the talent to execute what Angelina can do, here, effortlessly it seems. Therefore, I would submit that there is a fundamental distinction to make between what we are doing since birth in the context of our purpose and what we can achieve through hard work. In her case, I would say it this way: Angelina rests in the grace she was blessed with at birth and that is working in her and for her, and she works daily with an admirable dedication to capture our full attention and to enjoy our praises and standing ovations.
Just giving her new mic a test on how much fry it could handle.. 😊 I felt it was to much fry, but it has grown on me. And we must always appreciate the fact that she let us all in on everything she is doing in her own learning prosess. Not many would allow us to witness such raw and unproduced material. 🙂 Just saying..

I don't know if you're aware that Angelina dropped a new single yesterday which is a cover of Michael Jackson's Heal the World. It is probably the most beautiful song she has ever sung and is getting rave reviews across social media. Definitely worthy of your time.

But I will say that Angelina sang it with so much more heartfelt emotion that many were brought to tears. I know I was and I'm a 66 year old male. Many of your fellow reactors also did the same. The performance was In honor of the crown Prince of Norway visiting LA where Angelina is now based. I believe there was a meeting regarding renewable energy and preserving the climate. With covid ravaging the world, and politics internationally dominating, Angelina dedicated this song with hope for making the world a better place. It was really touching.

Its amazing what she can do with that amazing voice and its not even fully matured yet. For those who appreciate the old jazzy bluesy tunes, she's definitely got the Soul! I myself go for the chillsy highs. But its all good. 🕊🎶🕊 It'll be interesting to see where her voice finally lands! Or maybe it'll just keep soaring through time, I still say she is a reincarnation of someone very famous and deliciously dark cause that can of whoop ass she give to those songs came from experience from another time, in another place, and from someone who meant business! I dont often listen to Angelina, allthough i have no good reason. I loove her voice, her style, her technique and her preferred jazz genre. Known of her since she was 7. maybe im just waiting for her to grow up and find her own style, write her own music. I loved her newly released song Heaven.

Good reaction, you were being generous. I do not like this performance at all. Often Angelina can take a song you were indifferent to and make you love it. In this case she takes a pretty nice song by Etta James th-cam.com/video/u9sq3ME0JHQ/w-d-xo.html and butchers it pretty badly by overdoing the vocal fry. I've seen reactors go crazy over this, I find it hard to listen to.
The 1st time I heard this, a couple of years ago, I thought she used too much vocal fry & said so in a comment. However, after I heard it a few more times, I liked it more each time & now it's in my top 40, which are all favorites of mine!
