- Dunure Castle and Harbour is located in Dunure Scotland on the coast of South Ayrshire.
It is a small fishing village that was used as a location in the TV Series Outlander. The Harbour was transformed into the port where Jamie and Claire board the Artemis on the journey to Jamaica. It was also used as a departure point for Roger and Bree to America.
Dunure Castle stood in for Silkies' Island where Jamie found the McKenzie treasure.
Even if you are not an Outlander Fan, this is a great place to visit. We really enjoyed our time there and spent much more time than we anticipated. We recommend stopping in the Harbour View Coffee shop for some hot coffee. Really nice little place.
