In the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva of the Dominican Friars, Rome, 102 meters long. The largest Gothic Church in Rome, and the fourth largest Church in Rome. In the High Altar, the remains of Saint Catherine of Siena, of the Dominican Tertiary Sisters, are venerated, except for the skull, which is preserved in Siena, in the vast (80 meters long) Basilica of San Domenico, OP, where Catherine, born in Siena in the Fontebranda district, she wore religious robes.

A very beautiful church, I have been there and attended mass quite a few times as I stayed at a small hotel just off the Pantheon. But as regards the film I have seen it but I doubt I have ever seen a yellow mitre worn?

The yellow miter is the so-called aurifregiate miter. It is imposed on the Archbishop or Bishop or Abbot who has just been consecrated by the consecrating Prelate, as seen in this video. It is used exclusively by the Pope, by all the Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, and by the Superior Prelates - Patriarchs, Archbishops, Bishops and regular Abbots (Canons and Monks) - from the beginning of the Holy Celebrations until the end of the Liturgy of the Word. Then throughout the Eucharistic Liturgy until the end of the Celebration the Prelate Celebrant puts down the gold-plated Miter and wears the ornate Miter, decorated with gold and precious stones, as seen in the Treasures of many Cathedrals. Today it is rare for the Pope, the Most Eminent Cardinals, and the other Superior Prelates of the Catholic Church to wear this ancient type of miter. They use modern ones, less decorated, unless they use those preserved in the Treasury of their Cathedral or, if Cardinals, of the Basilica or Church of Rome of which they hold the Title or Deaconry conferred on them by the Pope. There are so-called inferior prelates who wear the Miter, such as the Apostolic Prothonotaries, the Archpriests and Parish Priests defined as "Mitrate Abbots", and other Prelates (such as the Canons of the 4 Major Basilicas of Rome or those of the Apostolic and Metropolitan Cathedral Basilicas of Venice and Lisbon, Patriarchate Seats) without Roman Cardinalate or episcopal or abbatial consecration, but who have been granted the use of the Miter by ancient tradition or by papal concession or decree of the Sacred Congregation of Rites. But this use is reserved for the Parish, or Church for which they are responsible or in which they are incardinated, as well as for the Canons Regular and the monk-priests of Abbeys of particular historical-religious importance, but always in the Cathedral of the Abbey in which they are incardinated or immediately outside it in processions.

It's wonderful that nearly the entire ceremony follows the traditional rite even the functions of an MC and assistant bishops is so accurate, reminiscent of the old sacredness of ordaining a bishop. Sadly, the use of the old rite has become uncommon in our time. I hope and pray for its resurgence throughout the entire church.

Magnificent. What has replaced it since the Council is risible.

He should wear both dalmatic and tunicle, right?

I don’t believe at the ordination of the bishop. The celebrating bishop does, but not the ordinand. I may be wrong but I think this is correct. He wears them hereafter in solemn masses.

@@clamanus I don't think so cuz If he does wear them, I should see their sleeves.

@@FranzK04 They do make sleeveless versions of the pontifical dalmatic and tunic. It's very possible that those were used for the film.
