I saw another reaction that mentioned that she's sitting alone on the bench, in all white, showing that she's the only one sober and "clean" among her friends and she feels so alone. this video is so simple but so powerful!
Yeah but she's acting like someone on Xanex, unable to feel the pain of the cigarette burns. Its kind of the opposite of what she's saying in the song.
I saw billie live last night in Atlanta. What an awesome show. It was my 3rd time seeing her. The live show keeps getting better. Can’t wait until the next time. 😁
Billie has not faded for me even a little bid - she is truly great - I envy you, but am happy for you - I've mentioned to you that I saw her in St. Paul, March 15, 2022 and loved it, but I am older and went alone then, and didn't want to go alone again - I live 360 miles north of St. Paul, but even today I wish I had bought tickets for the St. Paul concert on Nov. 10/11 - maybe I'll take the trip to see Finneas in Mpls in February (I think).
Thanks again for the reaction - it didn't occur to me to consider that the cigarettes were real - Billie is into things that might be scary, but I don't believe she is into PHYSICAL Pain - tarantulas in the mouth AREN'T painful [unless they bit you in the mouth!! ] - but nobody would tolerate a real cigarette burn on the face unless they were truly mentally unwell - I'm sure you have accidentally burnt yourself on the stove or touching something hot, that's a very bad pain. When you get to "Bury a Friend" the needles on the back aren't really IN her back. On the making of "Xanny" I highly recommend on the Billie Eilish Channel: "A Snippet into Billie's Mind - Xanny" [April 11, 2019] that's an excellent breakdown from Billie - and Finneas. On the production this channel is good: Joey (Lucky Boy) Nato "Music Producer Reacts to Billie Eilish - Xanny" [Dec. 24, 2019]. But the SNIPPET from Billie's channel is excellent. P.S. The song came to her in Dec. 2017 [15/16 yrs old - her B.D. is 12/18/2001] - it's her unique musical/artistic imagination that gets me - the influences of Jazz that she grew up listening to are in this, including Frank Sinatra.
"What's your Uber rating?" is what the girl at the party is saying in the background. Silver Lake is the tony area of LA known for too many meth deaths. Billie grew up in the next neighborhood over and even a friend OD'd. By the way, that bench is a famous icon along with staircases on the sidewalks that were made famous by Laurel and Hardy movies.
Great reaction as always. I hope one day we get to see: Jamaraquai - virtual insanity through your eyes. It would be super interesting to see if you know how they did it
Re: your question about whether or not the "burns" are real: a tiny detail I noticed involves the burn that comes in at 4:36 - notice how it initially looks kind of elongated and smudged, and then it magically seems to reshape over the next few seconds until it's perfectly round. This makes me suspect that while the cigarette props themselves are real, the burn marks are being added digitally in post.
Between tøp & Billie I’m loving watching you fall in love with these artists. Billie is so intriguing the way her mind sees things as is Tyler Not sure on the video but here’s a clip in the thoughts behind the song. Thought you may find it interesting as she talks about how she imagined it th-cam.com/video/Ms5yMta2p9A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=uFwQH_SC5_z7lRE5
Love watching ur reactions u would dig Melanie Martinez. Super dope and unique. Start with her first album. She has a video for every song and it all goes in order it’s one long story.
A little distracted by ur reaction, all the video content questions, nonverbal pauses. rather than the video artistry involved at such a young age. But maybe that was her intent with the video idk. The song is great. Love ur Billie journey!
I think they're real cigarettes that *were* lit but no longer are. Then CG adds in the little flare effect to make them look lit. I have no insider knowledge, that's just my guess!
I think you’d appreciate her music video NDA! Great video 😊
Yessss
And the song probably slaps too🤗 ok I'll check it out
Oo good call, forgot about this one!
nda is my favorite one, can't wait to see your reaction!

Oh I love the simplicity in a lot of her set choices....really shows how she can be entertaining in any minimal environment 🤗🤗🤗

if you somehow haven’t watched/ listened to Happier then ever, it is a must. I have never had that big of an a reaction to song in my whole life
if you haven’t all ready please watch “Bury a friend” its soo good and the music video is so dope
Love your appreciation and expertise reacting to Billie’s videos.

I really recommend you listen to “My boy”. It was the first song i listen to from her and made my fall in love with her music
You should react to when the party’s over and bellyache
I recommended this a few video ago🔥 So good!
I'm glad u enjoyed it!
Late to the party on watching your reaction, but better late than never. So glad you're doing this one, it's amazing.
I don’t think her team would allow her to actually get burnt hahaha all though she does usually do a lot of her own stunts.
Right🤷🏾🤣

I agree they mind ain't like normal folks and I stay intrigued 🤗
Please watch/listen to My Future, one of my favorite songs from her and the video is so cool
Please react to her cover of “The End of the World”. It’s hauntingly beautiful.
Love watching ur reactions u would dig Melanie Martinez. Super dope and unique. Start with her first album. She has a video for every song and it all goes in order it’s one long story.
Adwil my g thank u!
Haven't seen BTS but I'm betting they used CGI for the smoldering ciggy. Thanks for the reaction.
A little distracted by ur reaction, all the video content questions, nonverbal pauses. rather than the video artistry involved at such a young age. But maybe that was her intent with the video idk. The song is great. Love ur Billie journey!
So from what I was able to find because I was very curious. She directed the video herself and the cigarettes were real and lit.
No wayyyyy! Omg if that's true I have to give her all and every one of the props for that!💯
I think they're real cigarettes that *were* lit but no longer are. Then CG adds in the little flare effect to make them look lit. I have no insider knowledge, that's just my guess!
Hello lovely, I've been thinking about you lots today, really hope you're doing well!
😅
Kim thank u I appreciate ya
