I'd be cool with just a video of flea market shopping. Some of those reels in your vid looked like Penn reels. If so, those would have been a great score.

The first rapala you were using is designed to be retrieved quickly. That was designed to act like a panicked fish fleeing a predator to invoke a reaction strike.
If you ever come through southern middle TN please comment. I can put us on some trout, on the Elk River and go out on the Tim’s Ford lake or Woods Reservoir plenty of camp grounds around here including Tim’s Ford state park. Also have some cool swamp fishing.
FYI you could cast those small lures further if you fill your spool all the way up with line. Only having half a spool on your spinning reel creates drag when the line is coming off the spool.

The small rappala lure you used later in the video is pretty common in Norway, been using it alot for trollig, especially for trout of all things, same with the bigger linked rappala but that one is more common for pike fishing!
Try fishing that Rapala as a topwater bait. Cast, let it sit, twitch and reel, pause, repeat. Make it act like a wounded minnow. And ditch that snap swivel! Tie it on with a loop knot. The swivel kills the action of that lure.
If you add twitches or pauses in your retrieves you might get more bites. Steady retrieves are good but fish are going to be triggered by pops and pauses in your retrieves. 🤙🤙
That bird was a heron we have them here in england too, I always take it as a good sign when I see them because they're great fishermen too and it's not a guarantee but a good chance you'll be catching

yes you have to get a license in every state you go to if you want to fish .Most states have a day license or a weekend one you can get but just know they like to hit out of state people in the head with the price . There is a petition for a 50 state license that you can sign maybe one day it will be a reality

In Denmark we use the small floating Rapala for trout in small rivers. Floating them downstream. Nice for overhangs and hard to reach places.

you should really come to Jacksonville, the St. Johns river is great for Bass, Catfish, Carp, Panfish, tarpon along with a million other things.
Check out pawn shops and goodwills, etc..some cool fishing gear can be found.
