Great review. I wish they would make cars like this which fit 3 car seats in the second row. If you have 3 kids it's a bit concerning putting one in the third row all the time as there isn't much protection if your in a rear end crash, euroncap don't test these type of crashes. Also there isn't much room for the dog if there is a kid back there

Great review! Yours is the only 2022 SEAT Tarraco review I could find in English. I'm on the Taracco at the moment. My second choice is the Kodiaq and the 5008 in the 3rd. I'm not even considering the Tiguan.

I have a 2019 tarraco excellence first edition 2 litre diesel 190bhp. Really liked it. A lot. Full of great tech, fast, and nice features (blind spot, ACC, dsg, rear camera, sunroof, auto dim headlights etc). A few things I don't like - lane assist. Also a few things re the boot privacy screen. And the brown bit of trim on the seats. But honestly, it's a 9 out of 10 car for me.

@@dobrien757 yes you press the end button on the left hand stalk behind steering wheel which takes u into a menu where u can turn lka off. But only for that journey. I don't believe u can permanently deactivate it

There’s certainly a lot more choice of seven seaters now than a few years ago, when I ended up with a Ford Galaxy. Although saying that, it was a very large bus with car like driving. The offering’s from VW Audi group like this SEAT seem vast these days.

The 1.5TSI has taken a huge jump in price over the last 2 years due to the changes in VRT as it has relatively hugh emissions. In some versions it’s now more expensive than the 2.0TDI whereas it used to be a cheaper option for customers. Road tax is also double that of the 2.0TDI. Resale in this type of car is very strong in diesel.
A Tarracco FR Plus 7 Seater 1.5TSI DSG is over €60k on the road. A 300bhp 4x4 DSG would be into the €80k region. It would never sell in Ireland. That’s why Skoda Ireland don’t bring in the Kodiaq RS 2.0TSI. I’m pretty sure VW don’t bring the Tiguan R to ireland any more either

Haven’t driven it but I have driven that engine a lot and it’s a nice all rounder. A little thirsty if you push it a lot but 6-8L/100kms should be achievable. Bit of poke in it too!

Hi Nobby. I'm a single man and I have a pain in my hole with every car reviewer thinking that single drivers , childless couples, older drivers , in general drivers who don't want , nor do not have kids actually exist. And anybody in this day and age who needs seven seats , needs their heads examined. Can somebody please review cars , I a world , where childless drivers exist. Rant over....cheers...

    Two new design 'features'
Discovered the car uses .5L oil every 600 miles in the first 3500 miles. i thought this was a joke until the mechanic pointed me to page 351 in the manual. Really? How is that eco friendly? and the latest design 'feature' is you can't actually lift the front wipers up when they are in the normal stop position. Genius.
The headline for Tarraco should be 'The car that excels at absolutely nothing' If you want a car that struggles to obtain average, then this car is for you.

AVOID the 1.5 TSI in a 7 seat VAG car, the fuel economy is horrible, former owner of a 1.5 kodiaq. Also i think the Diesel kodiaq is better value, and has a even bigger boot

    • @pato10111

@@dobrien757 I had DSG model. I just felt it was too weak an engine to carry the weight of the car. On motorways the car was less capable than the 2.0d Tiguan we owned previously. After owning two Tiguans and not liking the most recent one, we've decided to shift it early for an Id4.

Sadly, the Tarraco is one of the most disappointingly average cars I have ever purchased.
    Things that are OK:
    - Engine (Until it needed Oil at 3500 miles)
    - DSG Gearbox
    - The Colour - Black
    - The wheels - 20" on the Xcellence LUX
    Annoying things
    - Seats: 'Leather' has the comfort and quality of a 1975 Morris Marina
    - Seats: Only driver side is electric
    - Seats: Not comfortable for long drives
    - Lighting: You need to use your camera to see in the boot and rear set of seats in the dark. One small light in the boot isn't enough
    - Lighting: Don't need 'Hola' shining on the floor when you unlock the car (add more lights to the boot)
    - Dials: You can't see how many miles you have actually done in the car if you have Auto Cruise Control enabled. You need this if you are on a miles per year contract.
    - Dials: Street sign recognition on UK isn't enabled. It is in the system, but not enabled
    - Sunblind: Designed for left handed drivers. Trust me, try and pull it down with your right hand, it can be done, but the recess is on the left side.
    - Blind spot or overtaking recognition: There isn't one despite this being the 'top of the range' with all the cameras you can shake a big stick at.
    - Third row seats: Small, but you there isn't a button to drop them down on the 22 and later model. It used to be there, but was removed for some reason. (Save cost again)
If the car was 20% cheaper, a lot of the niggles could be excused, but this is a £40K (TDI model) so it needs to compete with the other £40K cars.
