For the bottom of the aquarium it is best to use a variation of gravel and stone amongst the sand

Dolphins won’t despawn when I leave the immediate area. I’ve tried every idea I could find on the internet (Name tags, Air above, soul sand, leads, etc). None keep the dolphins from despawning. Every dolphin disappeared after a short while.

The dolphins died because of a quirk in their AI. They need both air and water to survive. If I remember how it was explained to me, when you are outside their range, their AI stops, and they stop moving, when they do that, they drown and die.

This is what happens. I’ve tried every idea I could find to keep them from despawning. So I turned my dolphin enclosure into a turtle aquarium.
