Yeah, I wouldn't trade my experiences with KCYFC for anything. Some of the best times I ever had. Al Metsker = Good man. He understood what was happening to American youth and he didn't like it one bit.
I struggled with that too. I loved it and still do. I am more careful to discern that which is offensive to God. I stay away from death metal and the satanic junk which does exist. Not all rock music is evil. We Christians are a bit wiser these days.
Jack Spencer Did you just get out of prison or did you finally wake up to what is not right in the sight of God? I have been walking with the Lord Jesus for 41 years thanks to the ministry of Kansas City Youth for Christ (now called Youth Front). Dr. Al Metsker is in the presence of our King worshiping the One who set him free just as Jesus did for me and many of my brothers and sisters who will probably be testifying of this on this page as well.
I went to youth for christ meetings in my home town. and i went to circle c ranch camp every summer and also worked there. YFC helped me more than i can ever put into words. i got to meet dr. metsker and he was a great man.
Yes, and I am one of them. Gloriously saved through the ministry of KC YFC; sang with their singing groups, and was a Youth For Christ club captain. This ministry led me to Christ and cultivated a heart to minister to others. There's not enough "Thank Yous" in existence to express the transformative work of dedicated volunteers and laypeople who served KC YFC. My life will never be the same!
No there are a few short clips of " something beautiful " put out in the 80s and a short video guy playing piano on one of their tellathons. And 3 songs from a Transformation Crusade concert. You got to look for them but they are on TH-cam
Mike King, if you oppose THIS video, then you are worse off than I recall. YFC was a bastion of holiness, and a shelter from the spirit of the World System. Now, what protection do our youth has? In spite of any negative words anyone may say about his motivation. I spent 5 years with YFC, and it was a grounding and stabilizing force for my life. I was a inner-city youth, and they reached out to me, and I was transformed forever. Some folks were racist, but not Dr. Al and Vidy; Ronnie, nor Susan; Gordon and Shari. These people made me feel loved by God and themselves, and I praise God for meeting him, and the rest, and being a small part of the fabulous KCYFC.
Yes, Ronnie Metsker is Dr. Al's son. This was, in it's height, one of the greatest blessings of my teenage years. I thank God for this youth ministry, and pray there will be another to rise up with the same purity and honor this organization strengthened. Forgive us Lord, for allowing this type of Life strengthening ministry to wane from our society. There are people who would support it.

me too!!
Let’s come up with an operative definition of what “good” means in this case. ;)
@@danielking4702 does the concept of good change from case to case?
Lord, keep this sincere passion for holy youth from dying out. Perhaps you can use me, or someone else.
OMG- My dad, MK, is mortified by this. Time sure does change people.
Mike is so different now, and embarrassed by this. It’s hard to believe they cared so much about this rock music.

I found it a bit amusing that Mike rallied against disco while wearing disco fashion!

Yes, I apologize. Dr. All did much good in his lifetime

It's a shame this is the only video left from the KC YFC era here in Kansas City.😢

Is this the same Metsker connected to the JOCO Republican Party?

He was simply warning against sin.
