@AppBook That wouldn't matter as long as the page would already be loaded, you must remember that you're only using bandwidth when the page is downloading from the server to your computer, once it has finished doing that, there is no more bandwidth being used. People have this common misconception about a webbrowser being open taking up internet speed, which is false if there are no pages loading.
You're so DAMN professional in your videos, I have been subscribed for months, mostly to keep me up to date. But now, I am getting an i-Pod touch 4 G for the holiday. Now I need to re-study your videos! I need to know if i-Pod touch can off load photos, videos, and songs to NON Apple PC's easily and without cost. That's my burning question! Anybody who reads this and knows the answer, please message me. John, I will let you know if I get an good answer before you address me on this.
Cool video thanks, I was just wondering if maybe the extra homescreen icons on the iPhone take up a bit more of it's RAM then the ipod touch icon free homescreen does?
@ThisLadChanny According to the dates in which the next generation is released, the 5th would be releasedin september. Also I should say that I'm thinking on buying a 32g ipod 4 and I would like to know which one between the ipod 4 and the iphone 4 would be the best choice.
@lokitoloco92 its because the iphone has more features and when having more features there will be some stuff in the iphone that will be running a little slow but will work great
you have to take in hand the space and capacity and i noticed nothing on the ipod touch 4g and a few pages on the iphone 4 and it depends the capacity you never mentioned
tell me where you got this iphone wallpaper please ?! I see this in every iphone 4 video that you make, and the wallpaper is actually really nice, cuz i didn't find any great wallpaper to put on my iphone background...
@PlaystationDarkz uhhhhh how would that affect it? every time im on my ipod touch there's always another person in the house on a computer and it doesn't affect it
Both devices are almost same exception of radio daemon not running on iPod touch even if you turn off the radio doesn't mean daemon goes off. The reason you see the speed difference in loading is because of micro second of difference between your releasing your finger. The device that would request for the information first from your router will always have an edge over device that is second to do so, because when the data for first device starts flowing in, it slows down the data for device #2
1. The iPhone has two pages open while the iPod only has one. The iPhone is reloading the second page while you were looking at the first 2. The iPhone has apps and the iPod only has the apple apps. Even though they aren't running, the iPhone is still checking the springboard every once and a while 3. The iPhone was loading music while the iPod was loading videos. There is more music than videos on iTunes 4. The iPhone and the iPod are on different times, but that might not hurt anything
Can't really test that network test like that. Because they are on the same WiFi network one will technically get priority over one. It's pretty obvious here the iPod Touch had the priority for your router this time when it got connected. This shows when it comes to web pages. Though they are VERY close in the other tests because the network speed doesn't come into as much play.
@maccdyme Double click. Hold the icons. A shutdown option apears in all the icons corner. Game center is a new feature you will get with the new software update. Sorry, cant help you with the file restoring thingy :(
using the wifi at same time on wifi they can interupt each others bandwith so best to time then separelty AND id like to know ur iphone 4 wallpaper if possible looks c00l
Constructive criticism for future reviews like this. I understand this is not a super scientific speed test, but your video seems to clearly show websites loading at relatively the same speed, then when it gets to the "ads" one hits faster. Which this would be normal as they would both get cached with different ads, and those ads don't load at the same speeds. My criticism is that I would mention that web page advertisements would add a speed discrepancy on their own accord.
@PartnerProgramCenter Did you watch the video? He said that he has the iPhone on airplane mode because he didn't want people to call him in the middle of making this video.
Well this is kind of wierd.. I watched this video and tested the same pages at just the same time on my 3GS and it was like 10 seconds faster sometimes! Why is that? Have you got a very slow internet speed Jon?
at 2:34 you can see you have 2 pages loaded up on the iphone 4 which takes up ram and slows it down, also the test is inaccurate as their wifi signals have interference from each other and your pc, so without that ram and interference its safe to say that the iphone would have a significant advantage over the ipod touch....
@jeriham101 Clearly you and those that liked this comment don't realize that he's running on the same WiFi and is testing the fidelity of the WebKit core in each of them. This means he's NOT testing the internet connection. Safari doesn't mean internet. He's checking load time on the apps.
@excusemeiminneed you hold down an app, and then you press the little red icon to close it. repeat process for each app. (good luck if you haven't closed anything since you got it, it takes forever)
to test their speed if the processor and the same? and another when you entered the app store came to see that you were downloading something and this may have hampered the speed of the iphone
you shouldnt make this kind of comparison test. you should consider what the iphone and itouch is capable of. iphone have additional features over the itouch such as calls, messages and cameras. and in your video, you opened two extra tabs in the iphone's safari whereas the itouch's safari uses the main page only. obviously, opening extra tabs makes the phone load pages slower and it needs more processing. if u really want to compare the iphone, compare it against another high-end phone like HTC
3:26 to 4:40 to load ESPN...? Really? Over a minute? I was going to buy one of these just for the web browsing (the web browsing on my phone sucks) but not if it's this slow...
Hey man i was wondeing does the Ipod touch 4th gen have that drop down Nonafications menu from the home screen like the iphone 4 does can u get back to me ASAP?????
It doesn't actaully make the device run any faster at all. It only speeds up the animation when you do something. Go into speed intensifier and set it to the slowest, and you'll notice animations when you unlock, open an app, and alot of stuff. It's just the animations can be a bit laggy and take a bit to load, so making the aniamtions faster skips the laggy animation
Redo this with iPhone 4S, it'd be very interesting to see if the 'S' for speed can actually beat the iPod Touch. Also note: My iPod Touch went considerably slower when I put all my apps and music on so you'd want them to have the same apps and music ect. to really do a very fair test. And also the same memory.
@arcaninebeast Depends if you are looking for a new phone aswell, if yes the iPhone 4 would be a suitable choice (or.. LG Optimus 2X, it is Android, but it has a Dual core - Nvidia Tegra 2). If not, why not go for the iPod touch 4g?! It is clocked higher than iPhone 4 (iTouch 900mhz, iPhone 4 800mhz, to conserve battery). The only negative effect is that it has 256mb RAM, a weak screen (distorts if you press hard) and weaker cameras. Goodluck with your choice!
At 2:20 you see the iphone 4 is slower than the ipod at loading the page BECAUSE on the iphone is a second page open ( below on the screen you see [2] )
A network speed test is extremely unreliable, there's so many variables that could make either one load the page at a different speed than the other, all network based as opposed to hardware based. Even if you're on the same network, this applies. There'll be differences in time taken to initiate a TCP connection, and the server itself may prioritize the information being sent to each device differently. The page loading speed test is invalid.
@1DPhoebeAbigaille They are similar, but not the same. The iPhone has double the RAM and has what is known as an "IPS" screen, which offers greater viewing angles. (In this video, the iPod has a washed out, faded look which exemplifies this). Not to mention the DAC in the iPhone 4 is superior to that of the iPod touch from what I've heard (Wolfson vs Cirrus Logic). Not to mention the camera on the 4 blows that of the iPod away in features and image quality.
@FPSPyromaniac Both are actually similar. But if u wan a new phone, get an iphone. But if u just wan to download apps and stuff i would recommend the ipod. Note* the ipod does not have a LED flash.
@roolrr22 The iPhone has more than that it has 3G, compass, built-in compass, better viewing angles, much much better microphone, LED flash, 5 MP camera, bigger speaker and better battery (I think)
prices aren't really that ridiculous relatively speaking. you aren't going to pay that much more for an iPhone w/ contract than you would for any other smartphone unless you get some cheap prepaid plan
@shyyguy25 doesnt really matter about wifi connection cause they both have full bars, so really there is no need to prove its on one connection

@stocker05 The iPhone 4 and the iPod Touch 4th Gen have the same camera. VGA-quality on the front, 720p video recording on the back.
well, there is something i noticed although it might have nothing to do with the speed, but the iphone actually has an extra page open on safari
@smooveafrican its not a theme. its just a background.
@gcoyes00 they are both Retina, but the iPod Touch doesn't have an IPS display.
at 5:40 the iphone is loaded on music as the ipod tocuh is loaded in videos with more icons and more mb/s to download
@lokitoloco92 its because the iphone has more features and when having more features there will be some stuff in the iphone that will be running a little slow but will work great
@Marci543303 That really doesnt matter, its not loading anything.
@metroidM1A1 oh cool so do they make all ipod touches with wifi or only some?
@residentevilfanz1 How do you even accidently flag the video??
@Marci543303 The iPhone 4 also has twice the RAM, so the extra page that is in the memory is not going to slow it down
@ali4tech i think its cause the background on the ipod4 is lighter than the iphone4, the camera will accentuate that.
you have to take in hand the space and capacity and i noticed nothing on the ipod touch 4g and a few pages on the iphone 4 and it depends the capacity you never mentioned
on the Ipod touch can you watch, download, and stream music and videos like on TH-cam or something?
@FusionzzGaming I'm happy for you :) Getting one myself too, can't wait either
@TheBumbleBunny yeah but u need a wifi connection. there are apps that let u text and send email to phones and emails
Can you make a video about calling from your Ipod Touch to your iphone at Facetime?
tell me where you got this iphone wallpaper please ?!

@marctoro96 Well, he said he had a video uploading on another computer (I think). That usually takes allot of your wifi network
so aside from the ability to make phonecalls is there any significant diference between iphone 4 and ipod touch?
@rlarson122 i have an i pod 4g is it worth upgrading to a iphone 4?
Did you noticed that on the iPhone 4 browsing test there were 2 tabs opened on iPhone 4.
1. The iPhone has two pages open while the iPod only has one. The iPhone is reloading the second page while you were looking at the first
2. The iPhone has apps and the iPod only has the apple apps. Even though they aren't running, the iPhone is still checking the springboard every once and a while

Question: Is Apple going to create new Ipod Touches by March 2011? That's the month i get my new ipod because i recently bought this one.
Well the video upload in background obviously drains lot of your connection, usually the page would prolly take maybe 5 secs?
how did you clear the applications running in the background ( when he double clicked the home button) ?
from where do you have the wallpaper on your iphone 4?? i like it
@LawrenceLugar1 yeah, approximatly in 2 months comes out, with f f camera and better overall performance too!
is ipod the same as iphone? Do they have the same features except phone calls and messages for ipod?
Has the ipod touch 4g got enough memory at 8gb for , roughly 12 movies , a few games and about 800 songs ??
@DEAAC1 im buying the ipod touch 4 but should i buy it or wait for the ipod touch 5 cuz im a first time apple user
@jonidimo the iphone has the ips screen so if your looking at it from an angle it doesnt look washed out
@maccdyme Double click.

@jeriham101 its still testing which one finishes faster
hey i rectnize the i pod touch is so light and the iphone 4 is darker is that apple makes it? do you have a video of the 3rd generation i pod touch
at 2:34 you can see you have 2 pages loaded up on the iphone 4 which takes up ram and slows it down, also the test is inaccurate as their wifi signals have interference from each other and your pc, so without that ram and interference its safe to say that the iphone would have a significant advantage over the ipod touch....

@srivasvivaz
i dont :( but im getting the ipod touch 5g in september yaay and btw get a zagg invisible shield for the front back and everything else
Is it possible to see some movies in streaming by ipod touch ?
@excusemeiminneed you hold down an app, and then you press the little red icon to close it. repeat process for each app. (good luck if you haven't closed anything since you got it, it takes forever)
@RRPxGaming yeah the peel enables you to convert the ipod into iphone, but makes it pretty bulky :|
Just tried loading espn on my iPhone using wifi and it was definitely faster. That video uploading sure took effect.
the screens look different!! are you sure they both hv retina display??
@IntoTheNothing100 why does the ipod touch has a different color?
to test their speed if the processor and the same? and another when you entered the app store came to see that you were downloading something and this may have hampered the speed of the iphone
you had 2 pages open on the iphone one just the one on the ipod. difference maker?
@TheDavidn1204 thats the old ipod touch were talking bout the ipod touch 4 wif the camra
you shouldnt make this kind of comparison test. you should consider what the iphone and itouch is capable of. iphone have additional features over the itouch such as calls, messages and cameras. and in your video, you opened two extra tabs in the iphone's safari whereas the itouch's safari uses the main page only. obviously, opening extra tabs makes the phone load pages slower and it needs more processing. if u really want to compare the iphone, compare it against another high-end phone like HTC
@TechnoBuffalo
Also how many GB are the IPhone and ur iPod touch
If the iPod touch had 32GB and the iPhone only had 16GB that could mess it up
@TheMkrules because there's no retina i think :)
Getting an iPod Touch 4h Gen this month, can't wait!
@TechnoBuffalo
This is unfair because the iPhone 4 had a couple of tabs open and the iPod touch had only 1 tab open
3:26 to 4:40 to load ESPN...? Really? Over a minute? I was going to buy one of these just for the web browsing (the web browsing on my phone sucks) but not if it's this slow...
There were 2 other pages open in the iPhone that could have made the entire test inaccurate
Hey man i was wondeing does the Ipod touch 4th gen have that drop down Nonafications menu from the home screen like the iphone 4 does can u get back to me ASAP?????
So, I'm about to buy an Ipod touch 4, but, is this my best option? I don't need really a cellphone, so which should I buy?
Where did u get your iphone's background?
It doesn't actaully make the device run any faster at all. It only speeds up the animation when you do something. Go into speed intensifier and set it to the slowest, and you'll notice animations when you unlock, open an app, and alot of stuff. It's just the animations can be a bit laggy and take a bit to load, so making the aniamtions faster skips the laggy animation
i love your wallpaper can you say me were can i get it? PLEASE!
@DutchPs3Gamers yeah the iphone 4 screen is the same resolution but better quality. iphone 4 also has IPS which gives it a better viewing angle.
@ShinigamiS1lv3r ya but that was the main menu that you were allowed go back to
Redo this with iPhone 4S, it'd be very interesting to see if the 'S' for speed can actually beat the iPod Touch.
Also note: My iPod Touch went considerably slower when I put all my apps and music on so you'd want them to have the same apps and music ect. to really do a very fair test. And also the same memory.
@19monte94 Same exact display, they both have the retina display

does the ipod touch have to have wifi to get on the internet or will it just work anywhere?
@GencsTheTank Since the iPhone was on Airplane mode that means both ran off wifi only.
wow...
you had 2 tabs open on the iPhone 4, looks like you wanna do the test again

@cemlancon To how many video's have you commented this?
@SweSk8ter the iphone 4's camera is more crisp + has flash or LED back-light
At 2:20 you see the iphone 4 is slower than the ipod at loading the page BECAUSE on the iphone is a second page open ( below on the screen you see [2] )
you should have closed the other web pages on the iphone. i already know the ipod touch is faster on safari but it could help a little
you have more apps on iphone so it makes it slower?
A network speed test is extremely unreliable, there's so many variables that could make either one load the page at a different speed than the other, all network based as opposed to hardware based. Even if you're on the same network, this applies. There'll be differences in time taken to initiate a TCP connection, and the server itself may prioritize the information being sent to each device differently.
The page loading speed test is invalid.
please do an ipod touch 4 and 5 wifi test
what camera do you use
there were 2 tabs opened in the iphone's safari.. maybe thats the reason why its slower than the ipod touch..
where did u get the backroung for ur ipod
@Banjokazooiemaster plus, they did 3 tests, so the 2nd page would have already finished loading if that was it.
@arcaninebeast No, you should wait for iPod touch 5, it should have dual-core CPU and probaly 512mb/1gb ram. This should be coming soon.
Can you get on facebook with the iPod? I didn't see the icon.
@Trevizdabomb how much is it anyways?
@1DPhoebeAbigaille They are similar, but not the same. The iPhone has double the RAM and has what is known as an "IPS" screen, which offers greater viewing angles. @roolrr22
The iPhone has more than that it has 3G, compass, built-in compass, better viewing angles, much much better microphone, LED flash, 5 MP camera, bigger speaker and better battery (I think)
The Safari speed test might've been biased, as the iPhone 4 has two pages running, while the iPod Touch is only running one.
prices aren't really that ridiculous relatively speaking. you aren't going to pay that much more for an iPhone w/ contract than you would for any other smartphone unless you get some cheap prepaid plan
