it is famous, that wave... I have an old book about locations, but only learned about the wave in some random article.... just I also know surfers on their home beaches are very, let's say, private and fussy and try to be separate from strangers... it is obviously not a hoax at all. 🙃😊 one can see that in some comments everywhere around. and I was thinking too, I thought there was something bigger already (had that in the back of my head.) .😇

South of San Francisco. Due west of San José on the other side of the Santa Cruz mountains. Take a Caltrain from San Francisco to San José and change to the 17 express bus to Santa Cruz.

@@donnapavina8803 On the other hand the cold ocean means that you get to choose your weather. You can ride the subway from the west side of San Francisco, where it will be 15°C, and in less than an hour be in 35°C weather.

Do any black people live near the California coast? I've watched dozens of news clips and I've yet to see one, literally one black person in the either the background or interviewed. When I spent a month there last fall, San Clemente area, again I didn't see one black person. Am I missing something?
if you are looking for black people specifically, the best place statistically to find them is in central and southern Africa

before you people get out of yourselves, and loose your minds over strangers that get into danger blablabla, Portugal has one of the biggest waves in Europe, even bigger almost than what they showed in that video, it is kind of famous wave, so this guy maybe knows what he is doing and speaking of most probably. just saying. ☺😚😔 never been there myself, but I really love the ocean and always dreamed of surfing myself, for a long time this was all I was thinking about, but more of thinking about going to the South of France, Biarritz and such, so nothing alike.. and never stood on a surfboard.... which is a real pity... but I respect them for what they can do, they might be a special species and crazy but they have courage...

Actually , there are many places bigger than Mavericks ….Cortez Banks , Nazare , Pe’ahi , Waimea , just to name a few , all get bigger than Mavericks ….Mavericks though ,…..is definitely in the top 10
