I have cooked Gordon’s recipe for the last 3 Christmas’ and my family loves it. One key that he missed here is putting the mushrooms in a food processor and turning them into an almost paste then slowly cooking all the water out of them. That’s why his pastry split. Also, Gordon does prosciutto, mushrooms and beef in the first rolling then chills it. Then lays out his pastry and does the final roll. He uses clear wrap for both rolls which helps get all the air out and a tight uniform shape.
VlogUntilDawn no it’s really not. That is such an established dish any chef would know it. Not discounting Chris. He’s amazing. I just wish they picked a different dish. This is too easy
torridice most people are way too easily impressed. Anyone who knows the basics of a beef Wellington would know at least half of the ingredients off the top of their head. He’s obviously got a good flavour pallet but people need to calm down with the genius comments.

@@squirlywirl It's all standard though. Wow, he made a standard beef welling and it tastes like a slightly tweaked beef wellington. He had to recreate complex broths from scratch, sure. Beef wellington recipes should be pretty recognizable by anyone who was professionally trained.

yeah saying like every other word is very profound
I love how he pinpoints that it's Gordon Ramsays cooking without even knowing by calling it, "Old school French cooking that was repurposed by the Brits'', bc GR trained in France. 😂

Honestly, yes.

Yaas
omg yas that'd be amazing
Agreed
I second this
Morocco of Arabia.
Even with the mastery of cooking that Chris possesses, he still asks for and truly considers Brad's opinion. If that doesn't bump up your opinion of both of them, I don't know what will. Brad, as funny as he may be, is a brilliant guy in the kitchen and Chris, as clinical as he may appear, is a truly awesome guy. Love em both
True. A lot of people seem to dismiss brad as a chef but he is very knowledgable and a great cook. It's just that he has a very funny personality but i like that.
well said my friend
"Flaky salt, you sly girl."
Edward Brown that made me giggle , honestly so precious
This made me imagine Chris and Carla as the hunter and raptor from Jurassic Park.
this needs to be on a tshirt.
The fact he got a 90% in taste says it all to me. Really good job.
makes sense since he could only taste the original
it was a really good job, but... i not biting tho.
come on, a guy like him don't know how beef wellington is made? it's pretty common, especially nowdays with major chefs using it in their own restaurants, all over food competitions and everything...
i definitely don't trust when he said in the beggining "but what was beef wellington.." nah, i can't trust, years of reality shows don't let me fall to easily for anything in youtube too, sadly.
it really shouldn't...
Hahaha He described Gordon Ramsey! "Old school french cooking, repurposed by the Brits!"
I was shocked how accurate the description was! I was certain he would guess it's Gordo!
Would love to see Ramsey's face at that description :P
Well on behalf of Gordon I would say..."You f*cking..."😅😂
When he started on that line, I wondered if they'd bring GR on to judge his success
lmao he isn't wrong
Beef Wellington is just a thicc hot pocket change my mind
Don't hot pockets have cheese in them?

THIS IS LITERALLY THE CHRIS MOROCCO EXPERIENCE I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
I need a towel. This is too exciting.
Is this a series? If not, you should make it into a series. And give Chris a new eye mask that gets increasingly ridiculous each episode 🤣
I want that eye mask sooo bad!
Because he’s the Elton John of culinary arts!! ❤️
Lmao thats a great idea!

Almost everyone: hey Brad, can you come here?
he's their on hand handyman lmao
isnt he their boss?
Crystal Honey yeah i think i love him
@@ellaellaellaella555 nope. Rapaport is the boss
Brad is a test kitchen manager though and knows his stuff so everyone respects his cooking knowledge
I love watching Chris, he's so analytical and precise about food, but you can really tell it's his passion. He's so interesting and fun to watch!
Also he is one of those serious people who is also a total sweetheart I love him so much
@@superh8245 same, he's so sweet omg
The Sheldon of BA. Chris, Claire and Brad....are my faves!

Can we have Chris's reaction to Gordon's video as an extra.
Please Please..
it's sort of in at the end
I think they are saying they'd like to see more than 4.5 seconds of it.
This video was like a movie without an ending
And Gordon’s reaction to this video.
YES PLEASE
“No sear?”
Everything Brad says validates exactly what’s in my head. God I love him.
Ba is quickly becoming one of my favourite TH-cam channels. Thank you for creating such good content.
11:30 "It feels like old school kind of stodgy French cooking that's then like you know, repurposed by the Brits..."
Gordon Ramsay in a nutshell 😅
Frank Zheng they should’ve just stopped the video there lol nailed it. The fact that he can taste something and get that is unreal.
i want Gordan Ramsay to react to this. hahahaha
Sums up UK cooking during the 70's and 80's. Marco Pierre White's (Ramsay's mentor) career.
@@tiacho2893 That explaines a lot, thanks for the hint ;)
I lol'd and was in awe that Chris' offhand comment was so accurate.
Good lord, Chris is a genius. It's amazing how quickly he got a lot of the components involved in the recipe.
VlogUntilDawn no it’s really not. That is such an established dish any chef would know it. Not discounting Chris. He’s amazing. I just wish they picked a different dish. This is too easy
torridice you’re stupid
He’s definitely seen the recipe before, everyone has. Most people could’ve done the same thing once they realised it was beef wellington.
torridice most people are way too easily impressed. Anyone who knows the basics of a beef Wellington would know at least half of the ingredients off the top of their head. He’s obviously got a good flavour pallet but people need to calm down with the genius comments.
torridice you're stupid
"Old school stodgey french cooking that's repurposed by the Brits" - Chris Morocco... Nailed it.
Chris' ominous "I am ready for the next challenge' near the end of the video has me way too stoked
😂 “old stodgy French cooking repurposed by the Brits.”
Exactly.
Well done, Chris. This was amazing to watch.
Michael Macco nailed. I can’t believe he was like it repurposed by a brit

BA is the exact role model all of these other food shows need to be following. New cool ideas, great content, happy people. I LOVEEEEEE
Exactly! 💯👏👏🌟 But I love how unique they are!
Also it doesn't feel like the guys are churning out content like a maniac
yes!! so many cooking channels on youtube are like content farms, and they're definitely not as informative as BA
Tasty should take notes lmao
The fact that he recreated this dish in a way that is right, just not the exact recipe, is literally so impressive and I wish I was able to have 10% of that ability
I LOVED THIS! He’s such a smart fellow, with such a great on screen personality. I’m glad we’re getting a series just for him!
Yo this is actually an insanely difficult challenge. Well done Chris!!!
to be honest, no its not.
@@843jack1 right? I feel like it was very obvious that it's beef wellington.
@@aninagachter1082 well, duh. It's how close he can replicate it taste-wise. That's the challenge. 🤦♂️
@@squirlywirl It's all standard though. Wow, he made a standard beef welling and it tastes like a slightly tweaked beef wellington. He had to recreate complex broths from scratch, sure. Beef wellington recipes should be pretty recognizable by anyone who was professionally trained.
@@Oyashio202 I'm a billion percent sure you and probably, many people, wouldn't have come close to copying Gordons recipe only by taste and touch alone. The way he distinguished so many stuff apart without looking? You'd not get even close.
I think Bon Appetit has found Chris in his element.
I think he is the only one that can do this format to a high level, if the conditions were blindfolded and also no internet research.
THANK YOU for finally showcasing Chris!! I LOVE his intuition when it comes to his pallet. I find him so intricate when hes tasting things when hes in other peoples videos on Bon Appétit. This video is great! He's such a good cook!
After watching him do this BLIND and amazingly well. . . I would've trusted his judgment on the pineapple suggestion for "the perfect pizza" episode!!!
there is definitely an alternate pineapple timeline
I seriously don't understand why they shut down flavor suggestions from the person who has BY FAR the best pallet in that company.
Does this mean that Chris will have his own series?
Sign me up!
Should definitely be a series but not just Chris, use everyone. Try to duplicate a dish from a famous chef, and have that chef judge the outcome.
