I personally don't dislike the wall mechanics in Strive either. What I DID realize, however, was just the complete gutting of character diversity and options from Xrd to Strive. I think that's why a lot of my Celestial matches felt very same-y. There's less options and opportunities to play some of the characters in unique ways while also still being "good" options. I know they've nerfed Sol's F.S now, but basically the second I saw a Sol player matched with me, I knew I was going to be blocking F.S into F.S into F.S into possibly a frame trap maybe? but also could just be another F.S. And like... there wasn't a whole lot of reason to do anything else anyway. You're cranking up the risc gauge like mad if they just sit there, and getting hit by a frame trap H.S or something is a death sentence. But I felt like a lot of characters had that feel to them in Strive where everything kinda comes back to one main scenario you encounter in your matchups. That's not to say you can't change things up, but like... Ram versus Chipp is very different than Ram vs Ky but most if not all Ram vs Ky were the same as every other Ram vs Ky. At least that's the way it felt to me. And I think that's the main reason why people say Xrd is the god game. There's a lot of BS that was adjusted from Xrd to make Strive what it is, but I think they toned down the strength of the characters too much. They removed air teching which is good. They made throws their own dedicated thing which I think is good. The moves seem to have more hit stop (freeze frames when landing an attack on opponent) so you have a little bit more time to think about your next move instead of having to memorize and/or react to the situation extremely quickly like you do in Xrd. You have even more time when you land a big ass counter hit which I also think is pretty cool. I just miss being able to DO things.
This is why I think strive can be the best gg. If it is just a bit more crazy and each character gets to really shine in their roles like before, it could be (subjectively) the best gg game.

It's not some hivemind kneejerk reaction it's just people having different tastes. I will say there is merit to people not realizing and forgetting that games like GG Xrd Rev 2, BBCF, or Ultra SF 4 are actually building off years and years of development and the reason the games might at times feel more robust is because that's what years and years of development time will do for them, but I find this "cycle" crap comes across more as people trying to validate their own taste in the game as if they have to rationalize why they like the newer game over the older one by painting all the people that don't like it as kneejerk reactionaries instead of just enjoying or not enjoying whatever it is they like. When a new iteration of a game comes out there are is going to be a vocal group of the fanbase that isn't going to like whatever changes no matter what, and that's ok and fine, we only act like this is so weird now because people's opinions get heard more on the internet when people have had disparate tastes on different parts of a franchise for ages.
OK, but realistically what's the probability of them adding instantkills in strive? None of the devs mentioned them, despite being a staple in practically all their games. Immean sign was broken but it still launched with instant kills that u could combo into.
@@TheJbrown60 if they do add them back though, I hope they’re much better. To be real, the instant kill animation Xrd (not just quality but it’s choreography and what actually happens) is shit. I think we really should step away from version talks especially if we're comparing games. It always felt like an excuse to me to distract from like people having issues with the core gameplay. Especially when people were doing that SFV?. "oh you have a problem stubby normals and seemly no creativity in combos? Just wait for ultimate champion edition bro"
Thats basically how most fighting games seem to work though, the first version is kinda unbalanced and jank but it gets refined through further updates. Systems get added and refined with time and eventually you get an Xrd or an SFIV. Also a lot of the "issues" people have with the core gameplay (at least from what I 've seen) tends to boil down to "I liked Xrd better, why can't it be that".

This whole video is just examples of legitimate player expression, nothing unfair at all

OK, but realistically what's the probability of them adding instantkills in strive? None of the devs mentioned them, despite being a staple in practically all their games. Immean sign was broken but it still launched with instant kills that u could combo into.
True but honestly I don't mind not having Instantkills in strive. I just want them to change how the game plays to make it better
It's such a staple of the series and is so bizarre they'd omit it! ._.
I could definitely see them getting added with a season 2 or something like that
you dont rly need them. its just a spectacle
@@TheJbrown60 if they do add them back though, I hope they’re much better. To be real, the instant kill animation Xrd (not just quality but it’s choreography and what actually happens) is shit. Like sin is just him talking for a seconds and going trough a few mountains. If they keep the quality of those ‘flair’ animation in strive’s overdrive for a the whole IK, it would be godlike.
Okay maybe i mixed myself up, i thought this was a man pretending to be a female cuz i heard voice clips with rly deep voices, then i watch the vids an voices are exetremeely diffeerent
