I'm heading to Korea in October for a trial to see if I would like living there before I go ahead and get a job. I'm going to be based in Busan I've already found a congregation I will attend and have been getting to know the friends there over zoom because i was worried as I have zero friends in busan haha... but these days Gwangju has my heart. So I am defiantly going to visit. My one worry is being worked too hard when i get a job because I am only used to working part time hours but I guess it will be something I have to accept and get used too. I love watching your videos because they get me excited and give so much information on what to expect.

Great video Cherie. I'm debating between going to a hagwon or EPIK (specifically the GOE program which is for the Gyeongsangnam-do Province) when I come to teach. I know hagwons are a hit or miss! I have heard great stories but also some horror stories but I'm glad you enjoy your workplace! I might dm you on Instagram about your experience! I don't have formal experience just volunteer work. Take care Cherie!

It looked interesting. Of course, the reasons for coming to Korea will vary from person to person. Lately, I often watch TH-cam vloggers. If you think about it, there are very few countries in the world that are advanced, free and democratic, clean, convenient and safe countries. In Asia, Korea, Japan, maybe Taiwan. Except for city-states of course. Generally, the reason people come to Korea is to get a job or to be curious about Korea through K-pop or dramas. In general, if your goal is to get a job, Korea is a good option. Opportunities and salaries are guaranteed in fields that young Koreans shy away from. However, Korea is a country that works a lot and for a long time. The industrial structure is based on manpower. Competition is fierce. Many foreign workers struggle with this. And there is a culture of 'Nunchi' unique to Korean society. It is a kind of invisible code in society. But if you know, this kind of 'nunchi' exists in any country. In the end, foreigners have no choice but to understand and accept it or run away. Perhaps a person will grow more in a collision with something new.

There are lots of "why i left korea" videos on youtube highlighting how bad it is there, especially for black people so i think having the image of asia being safe and clean is kind of inaccurate depending on who you are and what your job is.

I know they say you can't please everyone all the time but that's an anxiety/fear of mine; I don't wanna offend anyone. All those snacks looked really good! Since there was a chocolate one and a peanut butter one, I wonder if you ate em together if it would taste like a Reese's candy. 🙂

Idk if Korea has pepper spray but it may be something to consider when walking alone at night 🤔 the police reccomend that for ladies walking around at night in the states. They also reccomended self defense classes. Even though it considered relatively safer in Korea it's not bad knowledge to have.
I'm happy you found a place where you fit in and feel comfortable.
I look forward to your next adventure, it's so beautiful and has such lovely scenery to enjoy.

Hello! 😊 I had a friend of mine translate these Korean comments into English for me, and I thought I would respond to you guys real quick.
I appreciate that some of you are trying to be considerate to how I may feel in this situation. 🤗 However, even though I agree that many comments from one viewer on a single video of mine is uncommon, I do not feel threatened by it. I am not comfortable with you guys accusing dongtube on the assumption that I feel uncomfortable or threatened or feel as if he is a stalker.
Please know that I am not as passive as I look. 😅 if someone ever makes me feel uncomfortable, I will block them.
With that in mind, can we put this thread to rest? I want my comments section to be a respectful place.
But again, I appreciate you for trying to stand up for me. ☺️ I hope everyone has a great day! 🤗
