Under the high patronage of the Minister of Muslim Affairs and Waqf Property in Djibouti, Moumen Hassan Barri, and in partnership with UNFPA Arab States Regional Office and the International Islamic center for Population Studies and Research - Al Azhar University, a workshop is taking place addressing harmful practices in the context of Islamic Sharia, Harmful Practices’ Contravention with the Objectives of Islamic Sharia.
The workshop brought together religious leaders from Djibouti, Egypt, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen to share their local experiences with communities regarding the common misconceptions around religious perspective and ruling on harmful practices and how to address them based on science and religious rulings.
