thankyou for explaining how it actually works, i've seen alot of videos on custom power hammers and noone explains how the engaging of the system works. so thankyou VERY much
That's awesome! I love the quiet idle operation. Been thinking more and more that I will build my own power hammer and this looks like the simplest concept to reproduce. Thanks for the inspiration!
You sure made it look nice. As a metal fab for years I was wondering if you thought about putting a couple of 3 or 4 in gussets on your tubing that Ts in the main frame. The part of the arm that guides the hammer were it meats the frame. It might be worth doing just for piece of mind. It just looks like a good place for a stress crack to start. I assume its tubing around 1/8 -3/16 wall. You could use some little 1/4 in plate and weld on each side. This is totally a honest observation not meant to demeanor your work. You did a real nice job from what I can tell. You took your time unlike a lot of the builds I see on the web and it shows. I was just getting ideas to see if I want to do a guided hell hammer or a little giant style. Kind leaning to the little giant as I think I can make it a bit more compact. Again great build
wow, beautiful and neat .. I want to know, if I want to do this mission as well .. how big the engine should I buy, or maybe how big the horsepower for the engine
I built one almost identical to this one a few years ago. I just don't use it much anymore. Its a wonderful power hammer, which I always thought were called "Junkyard" hammers because built from scrap parts. Good looking build.
Great job very close to my design. Should be finished with my next week. I also made a 40 pound hammer, with a three-quarter horsepower motor. I might have to get a stronger motor. Great job on your hammer.
Looks very effective Is the bit that guides the Ram steel against steel? I’m wondering if it will bind up over time. I’m not even sure a stack of grease would prevent that? I’d like to make one off these as well :)
dose the leaf spring have to be flat or will it work with the stock curve to it? i welded the flap at each stacking piece so its much more rigid than stock spring.
It seems none of the questions got answered by the uploader. Maybe he's too busy, I don't know. The contraption looks like it has lots of unwanted movements, I think balancing and some strengthening of the weak parts could make it a fair tool. Perhaps one time he will take a look on how his video performs, I hope he'll answer some of the questions, it'd be nice.
its not a pedal its called a tredle to give it the pressure, but a minor piece of terminology, what is the weight of the tup that is what is the size of the head and strikeforce
Actually he is correct. It is a pedal. Dict says ....."a lever worked by the foot that imparts motion to a machine." Such as on the old mechanical sewing machines or a spinning wheel. The treadle actually converts vertical motion into circular motion via linkages.

Great video! I've recently also finished making a power hammer similar to yours. though my back pulley which is connected to the offset arm is much heavier and larger than yours and I was woondering if that gives one more control?

Just found your channel and Subscribed. Very interesting. Nice work
Thanks for sharing your build
Can you send a link to the plans
Nice job! What are the sizes of the pulleys, I'm about to fab one up myself?
After 3 years how has the hammer held up?
What hp for engine u use it
How to slow the hammer press ??
Awesome work. Do you still have the plans for the hammer? also where did you get your pulleys for it? Kind regards.
I am very interested in building one. Anyway to get plans from you?

Do you have any control when operating the hammer?
Just brilliant!! Very well done 👍
Looks very effective

Baie netjiese werk Gert. Jou werkswinkel is pragtig.
Looks like a good one but I would've liked to seen the way the whole contraption operated instead of just the bottom end....
Nice setup, where can I find plans to build my own. Thanks

I too asking about that straighten spring
You don’t want to weld the springs together
Nice video, short and to the point. How much did you spend on it in total?
Homemade version of the thumb indicator. Very nice , I want to build one myself.
Looks great . I going to build one petty much the same , Thanks for sharing.
Can you tell me HP rate and rpm that you recommends?
Frickin badass. Great job.
Can you put links in the description for the plans?
I would like to see this too.
Kolik kw má motor?
Great Hammer!
So your Surname is Odendaal ?? Your a Smithy and You built A Powerhammer ?? That’s Epic Vikingness . Great Job man .

That's why I unsubscribe from this channel, this guy doesn't like to share some information. And I'm the # 100 thumbs down 👎.

He clearly states 40lbs as well
Tigger cn
Id add a rheostat to slow the motor rpm ( or smaller drive pulley ) and run heck out of that beauty !
Very Good!..
