Have you ever considered installing a ram pump? It seems a good place for one and looks like you definitely have enough flow. With a small storage tank near the cabin and you don't have to risk you neck anytime you need drinking water
Actually I just performed a little maintenance the other day. The most I ever need to do is to flush out debris from the spring box (usually just sand and silt) and then once a while dump and wipe out the cistern. Thats about all Ive ever done and this system has been flowing non-stop for almost 5 years now.
