You're my favorite way to spend my lunch break or weekend afternoon! Especially with a cup of comforting tea (fig and vanilla today) and a small cookie or two.
The skirt looks great, Jayne. No one would ever guess it's an upcycle! I hope you found time, in your marathon unpicking and sewing day, to have a bite to eat!
You are truly a woman after my own heart. Not only do I adore this skirt but I also would have taken the time to take it all apart so that it would be right. SO much work! But so worth it!
Looks really nice. I love the colours together with the denim! Glad you enjoyed yourself making it. Wish more people would upcycle their clothes. Well done cariad xx
I love the homespun look of the fabric is so pretty. I think the top part of the dresser look really nice with just a simple linen skirt with maybe a ruffle at the bottom for a longer skirt. Or even turn it into a peplum top with the same sort of soft linen. I love all those colors so much and I don’t think the autumn colors look the best on me, but I don’t care because I get to look at them all day if I wear them.😊 I am not sure if I’ve ever commented on that green shirt that you’re wearing but I love it so much . It is a great color on you. It’s a great color for the style and for the season and I just love it. I like how you have incorporated ruffles without it being overwhelming. I love ruffles, but I tend to go a little heavy with the ruffle for my frame and age (we are same age).❤
I love it!. There is not going to be another like it and it really suits you. What perseverance you have to do all that unpicking but you had a vision and you achieved it. 🤗
I have just found your channel, and it has been a strange beginning. The first video I watched was when you originally made the patchwork dress. It was fascinating, so I decided to see what else you had been up to. One of the recommended videos was this one where you took the patchwork dress apart to remake your patches into this cool skirt. I did enjoy it, but it was a bit sad in a way to see all of your hard work being cut apart. Strange, I know, but I felt a bit of a loss. Anyway, I look forward to watching many of your other videos to see new creations come to life.
Love the skirt Jayne. You’ve inspired me to make something similar using bits out of my mums wardrobe who we lost in 2020. Thank you for the inspiration x❤ Lucy xx
I personally love the skirt as opposed to the dress because it has shape. The dress looked huge. You could have taken the leftover top & added the blue fabric to the bottom & made it like the top you are wearing. Just my thought. But you did make the right choice to make it over. I'm sure you will wear it often. Thank you for sharing.
Homespun fabrics are usually loosely woven. You may want to make the seam allows bigger and over-lock all edges. At this time you could slip in some denim blocks to extend the fabric. We used to line our skirts to extend the life of the outer fabric.
Great upcycle! i love how it turned out! Well, you didnt overlock the patchdress unaware - you were totally aware that you didnt ;-) I would put a denim peplum on the ava blouse patchwork and wear it with the new skirt! i like those kind of videos - you could by the way still interface the patchwork part with a ironable vlies...
🎉 that is a win Sister! Totally love this make over skirt. I'm a big gal so I'd can't wear so fitted tummy, need some elastic maybe at sides but you are adorable. Makes my days to see you twirl.
I love the transformation! The patchwork dress video is how I originally found your channel so it was neat seeing you completely remake it today.
Yay! Thank you!

Looks fabulous. Wonder if the patchwork part could have done with a bit of stabiliser on it?
